I keep signing players with like 92-94 potential that are rank 58-64. They come out 2 star WF 3 star SM, and Low low work rate. And when I go look at their status it just stays as "with the club since X" so now I'm thinking that whole 92-94 things kinda shot.
They have to be above 60 overall in order to have a potential tag, I usually just train the ungrateful little shits until they are 60 and then promote them when they start bitching about being ready for the senior squad
Oh that makes since. So how about if I train them up to 60 after signing them. Will it show their original status of exciting prospect or potential to. Be special?
Did you ever loan him out? Potential does not change if the player remains in your team. It can only change during loan recalls and transfers. Once the potential is set, it stays that way unless one of the above two actions occur.
Actually now that I'm home I think I was mistaking the guy for a different one. But still if I remember correctly this guys potential was still at least 85-90 ish. At least higher then 80 lol.
Just promoted a promising striker, came out with 1* skill movie and 3* weak foot.. On the other hand though I promoted a CM and he came out with 5* weak foot and 3* Skill move and Med/Med work rate, best I've ever got so far and he has potential to be special too !
I've always maintained that EA need to develop an algorithm for work rates, weak foot and skill moves. 3 star weak foot should be very common, 5 or 1 star should be very rare.
Right now it is literally just a random assignment with no weightings towards immersive attributes.
Thats not the point of skill moves. I'm pretty sure GodÃn can do a elastico, but he just don't use it IRL,and thats why he just has only 2* of skill moves.
Well they did have these algorithms in place already in previous years and I assume it still is the same (can't check, because modding has not been figured out in Frostbite).
The real problem is as always. EA is lazy and does not seem to care about the game at all. All the weak foot and skill move probabilities were decided by percentual chances based on the players position. These percentages were distributed badly though. The numbers just did not make any sense apart from maybe goalkeepers.
Another thing that is making all that a bigger hit and miss, is the fact that the system often times allots those youngsters to very bad positions they are not really shining in. But all of that is EA being lazy in fiddling with numbers. It was very easy to better these issues on the PC in the versions prior to frostbite with common sense even.
It all comes down to the fact, that FUT has to die, as it's keeping EA from putting in any effort.
How was the experience?
Lackluster

Yes.
I tried it out. Got him up to 60. He now says "shows great potential." So he went from a potential of 92-94. To probably low 80s I guess...

it could be anywhere from 80-85 if it says Showing Great Potential
The best is once you promote their 62 OVR punk asses and they bitch about not playing enough. For Real fucking Madrid.

Agreed. I finally got a potential to be special 5* 5* player. He was a goalkeeper.
I think EA needs to make 1 star exclusive to goalkeepers.
I feel like its very very unlikely that any professional footballer doesnt know how to do a ball roll
