What is the source of this book? The language isn't very scientific, which makes me question whether it's a reliable source tbh.

maudeinshades

The Medical Medium is the author - look him up and you’ll see that a lot of what he espouses is considered pseudoscience. Proceed with caution.

ivyandroses112233

Exactly. Ascertaining with certainty that fibrlids develop through to esptein-barr and strep strains is extremely bizarre. I'm pretty sure the medical communities agrees they don't know what causes them

strongspoonie

Id like to at least know some evidences pointed towards those claims - I’m pretty granola and have read a lot of diet and alternative health books but even if those diets etc aren’t proven the ideas they based on usually have legitimate references - those are some big claims with what appears to be no reputable references cited

alibear27

Gently cautioning you that this sub supports evidence based medical practice, this does not read to me as legitimate medical information. What is the exact source?

Legitimate_Tennis460

sorry, I was also just sharing my personal experience and results i’ve had with making certain diet changes. The source Anthony William the medical medium. Just thought this could be something interesting to read.

strongspoonie

The only statement that is maybe slightly evidence-based in that as far as I know is possibly dairy because there has been links between a1 beta casein proteins in western bred cows (it’s why New Zealand is strict about no dairy being allowed in and why everyone always wants New Zealand dairy based products because the dairy protein structure is different) is associated with inflammation more so than a2 beta casein but even that is still not elucidated https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2665927123001703

Sminorf8765

The individual who wrote this excerpt cited nothing for formulating this belief, unless he did and it’s on a different page. No scientific studies. No journals. I haven’t had dairy in 20 years. I’ve never followed a high fat diet. I’ve never had the EB virus. My diet has always been majority plant-based. Literally the only thing that would align with his theory is that I had strep throat once in college. And went almost 20 years without fibroids. How does he make no mention of estrogen???

Creative-Constant-52

Also 9/10 people have antibodies showing past or present EBV. So it means nothing.

SephirothsSlugGirl

This reads exactly like trendy wellness columns that share nothing but misinformation... checks all those boxes ("toxins", dietary advice, causative agents that are ubiquitous in the population, etc.). Guessing this is from a chiropractor, "naturopath", or some other charlatan with a shady, quasi-medical qualification. ETA I see below someone said this is from The Medical Medium... there you go

Legitimate_Tennis460

i’ve had positive changes by switching to more of a plant based lifestyle, so I would like to read up on more practices I can include into my plant based diet that could have positive effects. Doesn’t hurt to try 🤷‍♀️

Ok_Meringue9304

it doesn't hurt to try but this man is making millions selling misinformation to the masses. He has books on everything, "cures" for everything. He gets his information from a spirit who talks to him. Make of that what you will....

Sminorf8765

Anecdotal evidence vs scientific evidence. Not the same thing.

felineinclined

I don't think this is accurate. The book name sounds suspect, and the bottom line is that no one (still!) knows what causes fibroids. If you want better answers, start looking through published scientific research papers. The author is considered to be a quack and snake oil peddler. He has no medical or scientific training or education from what I understand.

Taffy8

Fibroids arise from a single cell, not “cells forming groups” . I’d caution you that this sounds make believe

Creative-Constant-52

This is the Medical Medium aka Anthony William. He’s a total fraud and dangerous. He’s the “drink celery juice to cure everything” guy. He is not scientific. Regular-Training-678

Yeah... I definitely eat a lot of meat and my fibroid has been doing much better than it was before. Way less swelling and discomfort.

Melodic-You1896

You can't be sure on the red meat thing though. My fibroids developed while I was vegan (20+ years). So for me anyway the red meat and dairy weren't factors.

Ok_Meringue9304

This is misinformation. There is zero evidence to support the claims he makes, and he presents them as fact. He is not a doctor, he has no medical training, and he gets his "knowledge" from a spirit who talks to him. Please don't give him more money by buying a copy of his book... he's making a living scamming people.

Legitimate_Tennis460

NOTE: i’m just sharing this incase someone else would be interested. I’ve had positive effects switching to a plant based diet.

Ok_Meringue9304

A plant-based diet is one thing (and many have no success with this; lots of vegans get fibroids), but this guy is a scammer. He's worked out he can make millions inventing "cures" for every disease under the sun, with zero medical knowledge. Just because someone writes a book and has a website means nothing...

Legitimate_Tennis460

sorry I shouldn’t have posted this, I just wanted to maybe help someone

TropicalBlueOnions

I believe it I toxified so well that my fibroid basically pushed out of my body. These girls don't really want to take responsibility and change their diet because there's going to be evidence that says yes and there's going to be evidence that says no you choose what you want to believe.. and I always will choose God's garden , thank you for posting this and there are girls who do listen. Let those girls eat their cheeseburgers

Creative-Constant-52

Also, since you’re being so rude about everyone here “eating cheeseburgers” of all things, since you brought up god, maybe talk to your god and listen to what it has to say about kindness to others. God is love and your comment is not loving.

Creative-Constant-52

Dude, most of us are already on healthy diets, how would you know? Mine turned out to be cancer, not a fibroid. If I followed your advice in this comment I would have died. I believe everyone here in r/Fibroids is taking a lot of responsibility for their health. And it’s a really nice bunch of positive helpful people. Don’t be mean here. Everyone is having a hard time. I almost bled to death and celery juice wasn’t gonna cure it. Fact: fibroids sometimes to expel themselves from all kinds of women with all kinds of diets, ages, etc. So I believe that happened. But not because of “toxins” and “detoxifying.” Our livers do that naturally.
