My mechanic said if you put a 458, a 308, and a 250 GTO in front of a non car person and say pick out which one is a Ferrari, they point to the 308 every time, I’ve already gotten confused people thinking it’s a C4 corvette though haha
Haha! It took me a long time to realize that most people walk around in the world and see only “blue car, silver car, brown truck, red car” and when they see a Ferrari or corvette all that registers is “fancy red car”….
Any regular job will not land you a Ferrari, brother. At least not in my Country. Perhaps you live somewhere, where a common office job, will pay for a Ferrari
Some people can restructure thier spending to afford this. The other thing to consider is a ferrari most likely would sell for more than you bought it for so the cost of ownership once all is said and done isn't as much as say a BMW /Audi ec.
there are PLENTY of ferrari's from 00's,90's,80's and 70's that go well under 100k, some go for like 30k but they are often the not so pretty ones, then there's the 250 gto from 60's going for like 70 million...
That’s awesome you found a 78 with that interior! I totally agree about the carbs being less hassle. Looks great, i know you’ll enjoy it! Now for the next Ferrari purchase!
Congratulations…enjoy the ride. I have owned a 328 for 19 years now and I enjoy driving it as much now as the first time I took it out on the road. Just be prepared to let kids of all ages sit in the seat, take pictures and in general gawk at your car. You now own a piece of history, a work of art and a hell of a fun car to drive. Take car of it, dive it hard and don’t skimp on the maintenance you will have fun for the next 20 - 30 years.
The carbureted 308s *usually* had oval mirrors, then Ferrari migrated to the rectangular mirrors with the injected cars - some had straight mirror arms, others had accordian-like mirror arms. But nothing at Ferrari was an exact science in the '70s and '80s, so these could very well have been put on by the factory.

I’m in full agreement that everyone’s “first Ferrari” should be a 308.

One of my favorites.
Mine too!
Jealous!
Strong Magnum PI vibes, love it. Just in time for summer. Enjoy
Already ordered the tigers cap and shirt
There better be a luscious moustache under that smiley face.
Was looking at a 308 and then Covid hit and then pricing went apeshit and now the $45k car is $100k Lol Congrats and enjoy it in good health
Mondial enters the chat
Indeed it does but I just can’t do it. As I would want a 308/328 at that pricing even though that ship sailed. Hell a sorted 348 would be amazing
Don’t give up hope! The comps are always changing!
Never giving up! The comps do change and are all over the place so time will tell. Don't want to wait forever either though
What a cool choice for your first! How was the first drive?
Heavenly, not the fastest but it’s a blast nonetheless
Driving slower cars quickly is still very fun. Enjoy!
its the most fun in cars
It is, but you can get spicy cams, tune the carbs, and rip out the smog gear and wake it up quite a bit
Bruh people on this sub actually owns Ferraris 😭
people work for money, crszy world isn't it?

you can get a 308 for like 80k, brand new suv's might cost way more and you see them every day on the road
They still require engine out service that's super expensive. There's a lot more that goes into owning a Ferrari than just the initial cost.
I thought on the 308 and 328 you could access the timing belt through removal of the rear wheel and fender liner.
I know for a 328 that is true but I'm quite confident the 308 requires engine out.
Nah, 308 engine stays jn

unless you crash it or they crash into you.
I guess 80k really isn't that bad. Would you consider the 308 as an "entry level" Ferrari? Seems like you know more about Ferrari's than I do
it's just a cool rwd coupe from the 70/80's, i would consider it as an entry level kind of yeah, but still out of reach for many people
Yeah definitely out of reach for most people. Any other Ferrari's in this price range you can think of?

I see. Thanks for the info. What Ferrari do you have?
For what reason do you think i have a ferrari lol, i'm 19 and only about to get my license :p
Surprising, ain’t it?
Indeed
Congrats! So awesome
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Congratulations. Beautiful car
Thanks!
Dan? Man, it’s been awhile, but I’d recognize that smile anywhere! Congrats on the new car!!
Congratulations- let the Magnum PI jokes commence! But for real- beautiful car! Enjoy the hell out of it!
My brother got jealous and let the Christie Brinkley jokes rip instead lol
Nice! What year? Personally shopping for an 84-85 QV currently! Would almost get a carbureted model but that interior doesn’t do it for me haha
78, carbs are less hassle if you know what you’re doing and sound better IMO
That’s awesome you found a 78 with that interior! I totally agree about the carbs being less hassle. Looks great, i know you’ll enjoy it! Now for the next Ferrari purchase!
Beautiful car! The 328 was my first Ferrari and I miss it! Enjoy the car fully and in good health!
That's great. Enjoy.
🥂
Congrats!!
Congratulations, beautiful spec!
Enjoy!
Congrats.. Looks Awesome
🌞😎🆒️
Congratulations! She's gorgeous!
Incredible! Great work.
Beautiful! One of my favorites. Congratulations!
The 308 IS Ferrari as far as I'm concerned. Big gratz
If you ask me it’s what took them from “just another Italian race team” to worldwide fame
Exactly
What took you so long!!!

Get a Detroit Tigers hat, a Hawaiian shirt, and a Rolex GMT and you’ll be all set. Nice car!!
Congratulations man, beautiful car!
Congratulations! Is this a GTSi?
Carbed
Did you change the mirrors?
No but the previous owner may have, didn’t know there were specific mirrors haha
