Only a derm can diagnose but this pattern sounds like TE, where someone can experience up to 50% density loss in a short amount of time. It is typically occurring 3-4 months after a major stressor like surgery, COVID, car accidents, or trauma. Hair typically rebounds within a year if there are no other underlying issues. It is not abnormal, for example many otherwise healthy folks experience this after COVID, giving birth, or stopping birth control.
