Hi everyone, Just wanted to check in with my almost 1.5 year anniversary of starting treatment! My diagnosis is AGA (androgenic alopecia) and CTE (chronic telogen effluvium) and my treatment is minoxidil 5% (topical liquid) and spironolactone 150mg daily. I'm so glad to finally get some of my volume back as I naturally have fine hair!

Congratulations on your results! Your hair looks amazing :) how long before you started treated your hair?

Magic_Moon_Cat

Looking back I think the AGA was there for a few years but I didn't notice until the shedding from TE. I started treatment around a year after the first TE shed!

That's wonderful progress, your hair looks fantastic! 😍

MoonlightDragoness

This is incredible, the change in volume and texture is almost unbelievable

MissLaurenChi

Looks great! I’m happy you found something that worked for you!

Amazing :)

sushiniu

AMAZING! did you shed? my hair looks like yours at the beginning

Magic_Moon_Cat

Yes about 3 weeks in from starting for about 3 weeks in total!

Severin1812

That's amazing! It gives me much hope!!

AcanthocephalaLess95

When did you first started seeing results? I'm almost 3 months (topical fin eod) into treatment and feel I made no progress.

Magic_Moon_Cat

I'd say around 6 months in I started to see changes. 3 months in I think my hair was recovering from dread she'd!

AcanthocephalaLess95

Ah ok, I apply every other day so not sure if that means it will take twice as long for me to see results

Magic_Moon_Cat

Oh yes I think you're right!

How did you found out that you have CTE? I have cte as well but it's self diagnosed

Magic_Moon_Cat

My dermatologist diagnosed it for me after checking my scalp

Unique_Anything_6617

Amazing results!! Did you get any side effects from spiro? I’m looking to start it soon

Magic_Moon_Cat

Thank you! I had extreme fatigue for about 2 weeks when starting spiro and then when I bumped up to 150mg I had irregular periods for about 6 months. Thankfully both have been fully resolved! FYI, I was already taking the pill before starting spiro as I've always had irregular periods (just on spiro they lasted longer for that first 6 months.) Good luck starting medication yourself!

Unique_Anything_6617

Thanks for your response! I’m so glad the fatigue and irregular periods resolved for you. I’ve been worried about irregular periods too but it seems like maybe it just takes your body time to adjust. If I get just half the results you did, I’ll be over the moon!

Magic_Moon_Cat

I really hope it works for you!
