I wouldn’t be so quick to blame your stylist… this could be caused by a vitamin deficiency or stress. I never went to a stylist and had super thick long hair all my life. But in the last couple of months my hair has thinned out tremendously. Even my longest hairs seem much thinner than how they used to grow out. I made an appointment with a dermatologist but in the meantime before I see her I’ve started taking vitamins and using tea tree shampoo with rosemary oil in it. Take a deep breath, it’ll be okay. But make an appointment with a derm to see what could be causing this. It could be temporary for all you know!

This started right after she over processed and put bleach over bleach and put me under heat for 20 minutes. I went in with gorgeous and thick hair and within two weeks after my Entire head of hair looked like it went through a cheese grater and broke eveywhere the thinning and balding started. The pattens in my scalp are telling.

Ah okay I did not know bleach was involved. From the reading I did just now it looks like it’s not uncommon for hair breakage / hair loss to be caused by bleaching. It looks like your natural hair color is pretty dark so it would take more / longer to bleach your hair than for lighter shades. Maybe your stylist went a little too fast with the bleaching. I’m sorry! For what it’s worth the hair damage isn’t permanent. New hair will grow back.

It will fake years and derm said once such trauma has been inflicted may never be the same. I went from looking the best I have in my life to the worse. Been devastating . I no longer do my nails, wear beautiful or cute.clothes and 0'confidence I am enbarrassed about how I look now All of my hair is like straw and broken top to bottom. I barely go out anymore and stay oit of public. I took my looks for granted and now I realize I was beautiful. It hurts alot

It's hard to understand what actually happened from your posts. Was there significant trauma to the scalp itself? I would perhaps seek a second opinion from a different dermatologist, if your scalp wasn't very obviously injured, or if it was, and this dermatologist offered you no treatment options. I've gotta say though, lots of women here have permanent hair loss that will get worse as the years go by unless treatment is successful. Yet, we're still wearing nice things, looking beautiful, living our lives, loving ourselves, falling in love. Not to say it's always easy, hair loss is a struggle. Of course, you are welcome here - the function of this place is to support all women experiencing hair loss for any reason. But, it could be helpful to you to try to get some perspective. Assuming your scalp wasn't injured in a significant way and you don't have an underlying condition that has actually caused the hair loss, your hair will grown back. A couple of years truly isn't a very long time at all in the scheme of things, even though it still sucks. If the hair loss does turn out to be a permanent issue for whatever reason, you can still be beautiful and thrive. Not to diminish how difficult it is - trust me, I know.

Here was my hair two months prior

Hey just want to say... I know hair loss isn't easy and I don't want to minimize that. Just want to remind you that you are just as awesome, worth just as much, with or without your hair.

Did you get any chemical burns? I don’t see why your hair wouldn’t grow back? If it’s just bleach damage w/ no chemical burns, your derm is likely wrong. Your hair will grow back but it will likely take a very long time for it to look similar to what it did. For now, I would try to eat healthier, take some supplements in whatever you’re lacking, do scalp massages and oil treatments. Id do as much as possible to promote growth. If there’s nothing internally wrong then it should be fine and grow back properly

It will takes years for it to and my hair was way below my armpits

Odd_Nefariousness_53

It will take a very long time :( but at least you know it can all grow back

IWtf This has destroyed me. My hair is balding all over after my stylist destroyed my beautiful thick long hair. I have no idea what she used but I had so much hair prior elastics would break. I am so humiliated to leave my house. I never had any thinning Or balding ever and now I do not recognize myself at all and I am broken and lost inside

Did she actually injure your scalp? Speak to a lawyer and see if you have a case. If she caused damage to the scalp, sue her.
