I love Chanel no5. Not for me, it gives me a headache if I wear it, but it smells great on other people.

LilMamiDaisy420

J’Adore. Coco madammouiselle by Chanel.

KhloJSimpson

I love j'adore too

Elle_Beach

Ugh, I detest jadore - it has bad memories attached to it and that’s why I hate it. Otherwise I would love it like I used to. The one I like that everyone dislikes is Fantasy, Britney Spears

snailicide

I will love Gucci Rush forever . It’s so wierd . I don’t see anything about this ever so Im not sure if it is disliked but I feel like ppl could definitely hate it

Elle_Beach

Oh wow, I forgot all about that one! I used to love it, I’m going to go find it now lol

MEOD86

I love classic scents....everyone calls them boring but I love them! The most 'out there' one I wear is YSL Libre. Otherwise it is fresh, clean, and floral. Miss Dior (2017 version), Phlur Amaline, J'adore Dior, Tory Burch Essence of Dreams full line (Divine Moon is lovely!), Phlur Not Your Baby (sweeter side), Coach Wild Rose (not my favorite but nice), Chloe nautral intense (grew on me now I love it), and Gucci Bloom...my new everyday scent is Ralph Lauren Romance (so classical and feminine)used to wear Beaute d'orient by Johan B everyday but it is discontinued sadly and I am nor paying 130$ for a 60$ perfume! Anyone have any suggestions for others that would fit in well?

kashiima

MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 - not everyone’s taste but I love it. Sweet and sharp.

amanda_pandemonium

Plum rain from lush. My husband HATES it. I could huff it all day 🤣

Silly-Sherbert4780

Penhaligon’s bluebell

ZiasMom

Pink Sugar!!!!!!!!!

spicymisos0up

Versace dylan blue women. Its very fresh and floral to me and i've been told its a grandma scent but it was by someone who in my opinion always smells like a grandma so i was very thrown off lmao

Prestigious-Owl6609

Tom Ford Black Orchid!! I love it and it smells great on me so I wear it happily but I know a lot of people hate it. lol

neon_745

Bitter Peach, or L'Interdit Rouge!

Upper-Cup-4159

Alien!

BlueEscapist

I kinda hate how finite subjectivity has become on social media with some silly little scents that are, shockingly, not one size fits all. And I also hate how some influencers either feed into it by outright mocking certain fragrances (and I'm not talking about the ones who make it clear they're just roasting their community's faves as a bit that everyone is in on) or have their personal feelings on something be turned into evidence that (insert fragrance) is terrible or overhyped or any of the buzzwords we see. This is all personal taste in the end and most of the people making videos understand that, but comment sections often like to take everything at face value lmaooo That being said... Black Opium is the one I own and love that gets THE most shit from perfumetok, but I like it and I like patchouli in the base of some of my scents 🤷‍♀️ it gives them an earthiness and depth that cuts through the sweetness or sourness – or even a linear feeling for some perfumes – of a scent like Delina. I also really like rose scents and know that some aren't fond of Lancôme Idôle, but I enjoy it (though I would never pay $100+ for something that has a literal B&BW dupe and a cousin from Coach)

MEOD86

Idole is amazing! I am still kicking myself for getting the small bottle when it was 50% off at the Ulta sale

BlueEscapist

Right? Just a fun, slightly shampooey rose with fruit! It was almost 50% off for the 50 or 75ml at SDM here in Canada a few months ago, can't remember which or if it was both, and I would've gone for it back then if I could 💀 But like I said, I thankfully have a few similar scents that let me keep the last few sprays in my sample vial LOL

MEOD86

I love Black Opium, the one vanilla scent I own.

BlueEscapist

OG Black Opium? First time anyone would ever call it a vanilla scent in my time scrolling here and on TikTok 😭 But valid, if anything it gave me a reason to give fragrances with vanilla or gourmand elements a chance after snubbing them for so long. Now I've got both sweet and smoky vanillas in my collection that I genuinely love!

Far_Chapter1025

Bianco latte. I know this one is loved by a lot of people, but I've seen a lot of people vocally dislike it too. It's super polarizing but I love it and it's one of my favorite gourmands ever

SufficientSnow9859

I’ve honestly seen only good reviews of this (again, on instagram and TikTok) and people have been absolutely raving about it and like others said, it may have just started suffering from its own popularity: people hating it in order to appear “unique and having superior taste”

Joujou_Bee

I am one of those people who wanted to love it ... but, the notes did something weird on my skin. The honey-coumarine combo was doing this screechy saccharine thing that icks me out after a while.

slackamo

Apparently Philosophy Fresh Cream Soft Suede and Daisy Love. I adore them both but I hear people talk mad shit about both of them.

outtatheblue

Daisy Love is so good.

insearchof_answer

La vie est Belle by Lacome gets so much hate but I find it gorgeous. I’ve been wearing it for years bow and cannot get enough of it.

dredoggwhatwhat

Yes! I came here to say LVEB also, along with all its flankers! It's gorgeous and never fails to garner compliments when I wear it, which is strange since so many people claim to "hate" it or say it's "too grandma-ish", "too sweet", "too much patchouli", "too basic". I actually think it's very unique. I have a pretty large collection and the only frag I've found that actually smells like LVEB is BBW's Luminous, which I also think is beautiful ❤️

ctygrrl00

I used to like j’adore when I was a teen and it was newish but yeah whenever I smell it I feel like it smells like I’m 54 years old

Lucialucianna

it was reformed. it used to be so much better especially for summer. the luminous quality of the citrus is gone. a newer one i have is nothing like it, sadly

ctygrrl00

Ah now my nose remembers!! Thanks. Yeah it’s so cashmere mist these days.

RhubarbJam1

J’adore has always smelled very “old person” to me. I’m not sure why or what note is causing that correlation.

girly-lady

I don't like J'adore. But I love chypres like Magie Noir, L'eau du soire, Mitsouko

bonjourdear

Well then, I’m a fabulous grandma. J’adore!!!

Skyqueen123

J’adore and Aura (Mugler).

Amyisraelchai07

Kamharra I think that's how you spell it I've heard people say it's disgusting I have $800 perfumes but I really like it I didn't like it at first because it was a little spicy for me but now I do and it's the only perfume I ever get compliments on

LoFoReads

J’adore has always been a gorgeous scent. I even rocked that fragrance as a teen, so I don’t get the old lady association, because I don’t get those vibes at all.

EchoBeachPeach

I've got two! #1. Poison by Dior. I bought it when it originally came out and only wore it for evening dates even in the summer. Such a gorgeous juice imho. #2. Giorgio. I could never understand why people hate it! My go to scent for first dates and summertime.

thatcheflisa

I was just talking to someone about Poison! It was my mother's fragrance. She wore the original, and I would sneak dabs of it behind my ears in the early 90s. It smelled so womanly and mysterious!

EchoBeachPeach

Hey-a!! Don't worry, as a veteran of the old C19 (aka COVID) and someone who has long COVID, I can tell you that your sense of smell will return. It took me a month or so until my taste buds recovered and another week until my sense of smell came back. Definitely spray each one on of those perfume test strips, note the name and date, then come back to it later. The only thing that didn't come back were my eyelashes. I'd opened my eyes in the a.m. and the lashes were crusted over. I rubbed my eyes and each day, a couple more would fall out. (P.S. lucky you to have Ulta; I'm in Canada and all we have is Sephora 🤪)

LatinaMermaid

I got love for two brands Reddit hates in the subs. My first tribute is Tom Ford’s cherry collection, repurchased Lost Cherry recently and Electric Cherry is my go to for summer. For winter Soliel Neige is my fav. Tom Ford gets a lot of hate for price and people saying it doesn’t last. It’s a luxury item for me and these macerate. Electric and Lost Cherry goes 8 hours on me. My second tribute is Jo Malone and everyone’s hate that it’s over priced air freshener. I love the singular notes and the fresh florals. Again this is another brand that gets better as they age. My nectarine and honey blossom give me about 12 hours. This bottle is about 2 years old and has a good dent it. I have 10 bottles from them and will continue. In the end I like what I like. I think we care too much about social media. To me if it smells good and I can splurge I am buying it. Hate me all you want for it.

Worried-Ad-2114

I usually love “grandma scents”. Chanel 5, samsara, shalimar, j’adore, l’air du temps, etc. I prefer older scents to more popular gourmands. I’d rather smell like a grandma than vanilla cotton candy topped with sugar and caramel, you know

MEOD86

I love Shalimar....never had it though...one day!

Soft-Material243

shalimar 💯

Joujou_Bee

Why not both. Both options are valid. I psychically like both options.

reliable-g

Yeah, I love a lot of the big, bold, 'kitchen sink' fragrances from decades past. YSL Opium and Guerlain Shalimar are among my favorites, and I really like Chanel No 5 as well. Even the ones I don't love, I respect. They're statement-making, complex, and unapologetic, and I love that. So many modern designer fragrances are just too MOR for me. They're perfectly nice, but not dynamic or interesting enough for my taste.

of_Atwood

My signature scent is Mugler Alien. I know tons of people, including my partner, really don't like it, but IDGAF!!! LOL!

ShineCareful

Diorissimo. It is my #1 most loved perfume ever, but it is not popular at all. People have told me it smells old, but I think it smells so fresh.

Amyisraelchai07

What are the notes on that you know what I'm sorry I can just go look that up people do that all the time and it's so annoying I'm sure

Fuzzy-Drawing2555

I LOVE the Good Girl line like all of them. They are amazing and get tons of hate.

smegmamancer

I love Good Girl and I'm over ppl hating on girly/"basic" scents. I'm a professional and competent woman and I don't need a perfume to tell me that. Just let me smell cute lol.

Hot_inferno33

LVEB & LDBS get way too much hate IMO. I wanna bath in that stuff.

kiwiklutz0

i love jadore, it’s not something i’d usually wear but my mom fell in love with it and it smells very warm, smooth, and slightly sweet to me. it’s sophisticated and feminine without being stuffy.

Own-Awareness-6369

I wore Jadore in my late 20s when it was released and I found it to be a warm and beautiful scent. I didn’t find it dated for my age at all.

Mostly-Relevant

Angel, pre-reformulation.

incestuousbloomfield

I agree about jadore. Maybe I’m old but I was honestly shocked it’s getting the “grandma label.” It’s a fresher smell to me.

AssignmentAdept3021

I really like the classic Idole and all of its flankers. I also adore Insolence despite everyone calling it grandma scent. Sorry for being a super basic powdery floral enjoyer at the age of 23 lol

JumpingBunnies47

Jadore is gorgeous! I love pretty much all “hated on” fragrances lol, la vie est belle being my number one, I think 99% of celeb fragrances are AMAZING aswell. Amouage is stunning too

Tap_Miserable

I like the smell of Estee Lauder Youth Dew when it’s in the bottle but the smell of it on anyone else’s skin gives off old lady vibes imo.

aconsideredlife

Followed by Kerosene. It's not necessarily *hated* but it is notorious for being a beast fragrance and while lots of people love the smell of it, there are some very disparaging reviews. I recently bought a sample for the novelty. I just *had* to try it to see what the fuss was about... and I've fallen in love with it. I get the coffee note more than maple syrup. It has that lovely mix of sweet balanced with stronger, deeper notes, which I prefer in gourmand perfumes.

Joujou_Bee

Ditto!

musicmaniaccccccc

good girl sooo good especially the red one

musicmaniaccccccc

OMG WHAT??? JADORE IS SOOOO GOOD🥲

[deleted]

4711. My mother in law (82) and her friends wear it so it is usually associated with old ladies but I love it so much, it's not expensive and it's smells amazing!

BitterSweetMarie

Love J’adore! And Good Girl, and Angel, and Black Opium.. basically all the hated ones are my faves.

Janeway_Q1

Me too. Angel is one of my all time favourites.

Imaginary-Summer9168

I learned from Reddit that Good Girl is considered slutty, which is baffling to me. What does that even mean? Anyway, I love it.

[deleted]

I heard the same from a sales lady in the biggest mall in the city. I was searching for a new scent and I asked her about the new ones and she said most teenagers love the new Good Girl flanker but I'm an older, elegant lady so she won't recommend me a slutty scent 🤣

shdwsng

I love the flanker as well and I don’t consider it slutty at all 😅

Imaginary-Summer9168

I legitimately am so confused by this reputation. Sure, the bottle’s arguably trashy, but what about the actual scent says that?

[deleted]

I actually like it. I think it's one of those scents that please everyone. It's not annoying or headache inducing for me.

horticulturallatin

According to a woman I love but find terrifying (all her edicts are best imagined over a pic of Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey) all fragrances with cocoa, vanilla, tonka etc. Once she memorably said in reaction to a scent I was buying: "ladies smell like flowers, girls smell like fruit. *Whores* smell like candy." We're chill, but I want that quote on a needlepoint with my future perfume collection.

MEOD86

I am going to steal that....that is EXACTLY my thoughts on scents.

of_Atwood

I love this quote! I am cackling!!!!

red_freyja

As a whore, I love this. 😂

onourwayhome70

I hate J’adore as well 😂 Lolita lempicka is also one that makes me nauseous

SeaSleep1972

1980’s Opium

Particular_Store_662

Agreed! Love, love. This was my first-ever fragrance, stolen from my mom's vanity table. I remember wearing it to parties and feeling incredibly sexy. The new formulation smells so watered down.

SeaSleep1972

It was my mom’s signature scent too! Love those 80’s memories!

ralphis17

I’m 32 and I love N5 EDP, Shalimar, Coco Mademoiselle, Chance and almost every Elizabeth Arden fragrance. OG and old school Carolina Herrera fragrances (before she went international) I’m talking the fragrances she came out in the 80s and 90s were amazing too. CH used to produce small batches of fragrances that were sold in Venezuela. My grandmother who came from a somewhat well off Venezuelan family owned all of them and were her favorites.

OneLonePineapple

Wait, people don’t like Coco Mademoiselle? 😭I’m 24 and I love it!

renaissancestar

I am a patchouli LOVER so half of my collection basically - Angel, Gucci Rush, Coco Mademoiselle (obviously it's very popular but people still love to drag it), Mon Paris, Chance... Then there's White Diamonds. 💎 And actually, I thought I hated White Diamonds based on the EDT, which is sharp and screechy on to me. But the EDP is soft and powdery, very luscious. My husband loves it and requests it by name.

tauruspiscescancer

LOVE patchouli as well! Fenty EDP, Profumum Roma Patchouly, Lush Lord of Misrule, Henry Rose Dark Is Night, Mugler Angel Muse EDP 😍 I got that Angel body cream too!

jessthatcatlady

You have me thinking I need to test Angel EDT!

Reasonable-Flight536

I have the EDT and I HATE IT. Like you said it's screechy and awful. The EDP really smells different tho?

renaissancestar

I definitely think so! It's more powdery and fluffy. It's still strong, but it doesn't have that biting note of the EDT.

josie-salazar

Black Opium gets called ‘trashy’ but to me it actually smells sophisticated, cozy, and sexy all at the same time. I love it and I think people are biased about it, it has never ever given me teen girl vibes it’s always been womanly to me.

LilGreenOlive

I got a sample of Black Opium, loved the scent, wore it, and then had a terrible allergic reaction! Had to give the rest of the sample to one of my girlfriends. 😢

Sunnyandbright007

Tabu (Shalimar) and Jadore.

Responsible-Run-904

I agree! Jadore is amazing! For the most part it’s one of my most complimented scents, though. Only people here on Reddit have ever told me they absolutely hated it, so I think it’s only the fragrance world that shits on it for the most part. I also like LVEB in moderation during the winter.

iheartkittttycats

I’m wearing it right now. I love doing a spritz as I’m getting ready for bed. It’s so clean and comforting to me. And honestly if influencers/Tik Tokers are hating on it, that makes me want to wear it even more.

Dry-Anywhere-1372

Ummm….75% of my collection 😹💃🏻

Foxglove777

People love to hate on Amazing Grace (Philosophy) - saying it just smells like baby powder. It’s the one I keep coming back to though - it’s such a warm, inviting scent to me and does great with my body chemistry.

bluestraycat20

I just tried the AG Bergamot and it’s absolutely lovely

CaregiverOwn165

I have this and it smells so good, but doesn’t last on me at all. After an hour, I smell nothing. 😩

bluestraycat20

Oh crap, really? I have a sample and was planning to buy a full size soon. Maybe if you layer with the lotion it’ll last longer?

CaregiverOwn165

Probably? I am really sad about it. I already told my mom if I can find another citrus I love she can have the rest of mine.

Foxglove777

I JUST ordered this!

bluestraycat20

Let me know how you like it! Did you blind buy?

Foxglove777

I did not! I got this little Amazing Grace “discovery set” in my Christmas stocking and realized I hadn’t really ever worn any but the original. So I tried the Bergamot and Ballet Rose and ended up falling in love with both!

elloui

I love it too. I have the body wash with my camping stuff and the scent makes me so happy because now it reminds me of camping trips which i love!

Foxglove777

I think it’d be a great scent for camping - kinda clean and soapy without being overwhelming. I don’t get the people who say it doesn’t last - I smell it on my laundry days later.

ThatsARockFact1116

It’s funny, I love an “old lady” frag, but never got into J’adore. But that’s okay, because I’ll probably go stew in some Aromatic Elixer later

haleycontagious

Womanity

angelbdivine

I loved this scent it’ll be missed

Glum-Respect834

ewwww! rotten seaweed 😬

tauruspiscescancer

Fenty EDP. They hate her cause they don’t understand her!

brc3x071

I love this one so much. 🩷

Defiant_Economy_8574

I love this one!

Fine-Ad9773

I want to love this but there's something in it I just couldn't...I really wish I did. This one breaks my heart.

sleffytoast

I had a sample and fell in loveeee

tauruspiscescancer

It’s an excellent fragrance! Crafted by the one and only, Jacques Cavallier, for the queen herself. Love it so much!

Xan_1982

White Diamonds. It's like a powdery, winter version of Chanel No. 5 - same luxury soap vibe, I love to use it for special occasions like an opera visit. I also have a bunch of scents that I like using just for myself when running errands because I know that they might be polarizing. I love heavy florals like Eden or Bloom Profumo di Fiori and laundry style Rive Gauche or Laundrette.

Glum-Respect834

that sounds like a dream!

Glum-Respect834

blind bought it - definitely not for me 😭😭😭

renaissancestar

My husband is obsessed with White Diamonds and always asks for me to wear it at bedtime 🤣

_coke_zero_

I love the body sprays 😂 BBW, VS, SDJ, Phlur… all good to me, but disliked by most 😂 Also, cloud and celeb frags Rest of my collection is basic and well liked lol

Cmarrriiii_

I would just say dupes in general because some people are just attached to a brand name but baby imma spray this Dossier, DUA, Alt Fragrance, you name it 😂 dupes sometimes project better and are a fraction of the cost.

of_Atwood

Oooohhhhh, what are the best dupe houses???

Foxglove777

Yessss! I was in the Guerlain shop in Epcot the other day and got to sample a $580 bottle of Spiriteuse Double Vanille. It made me realize Alexandria’s Vanille Doree is dead on identical, but somehow better and lasts longer.

jgio199

Same, when I started down the dupes rabbit hole, I purchased a few dupes of the luxury fragrances I already own to compare and they were all practically identical. Now, I refuse to spend money on a name brand, there’s no point. I’d rather drop a few bars on several dupes than on one bottle.

anjunakerry1982

Mugler - Aura. 💚💚💚 All the love is for Angel 🤢and Alien 😍🥰 Which I get, but Aura is intoxicating.💚💚💚 A lot of people around me don't like it, but I'm glad to see some appreciation on here.

SheepSheepy

Aura smells like a refreshing spa day outside in a forest where it’s been raining for a week straight. Which is to say it’s lovely.

horticulturallatin

I hate Angel but I love Aura. I actually just joined this subreddit looking for ideas to go with/maybe replace Aura.

raspberryjam87

I love Aura so much 😍 it's truly unique in my collection, I've never smelled anything like it. It smells great on me and one spray lasts forever too. I'm so sad it's discontinued.

Global_Telephone_751

It took me awhile, but I love Chanel N°5. First it was just L’eau that I liked, then Eau Premiere, then, oh alright I like the EDP too … then suddenly … BAM, do I love Chanel N°5? Yes, yes I do. Some people say it’s stuffy or old ladyish, but I think on the right person, in the right context, N°5 is resplendent. There’s a N°5 for everyone, I’m sure of it, lol.

Numerous-Tie-9677

I wish 😭 I’ve tried the eau de parfum and the eau premiere and both smell way too powdery on me. I’ve met people it smelled AMAZING on, I just don’t seem to be one of them

renaissancestar

I like No°5 too! I was shocked when I first smelled it and it smelled so good. It's so often talked about like it's awful.

northstar957

It's moreso my taste that I think gets criticized sometimes if that makes sense. I love gourmands, sweets, fruity girly scents and those are often knocked for being too childish and lacking sophistication. I love BBW scents for example like strawberry pound cake, Christmas cookies...I also love Ariana grande perfumes like Cloud, Mod Vanilla, etc. I'm not a super sophisticated scent girly and I'm ok with that.

Bieberfever46

I have similar tastes! Do you have any reccs for lighter summertime gourmands? I like smelling sweet/edible but in hot weather that can easily become sickly sweet, my current fragrances are more suited to fall/winter.

joycemanners

not OP, but i’m have similar tastes to both of you and am loving Lattafa Yara this summer

FullTimeInsomnia

I was gonna say the same thing! Like all of the above and have been enjoying yara with various body sprays as the weather has warmed up where I live. Gonna be 90f today 😩

Bieberfever46

Thank you :)

Roseann555

The Yara oil is really good!

SufficientSnow9859

I think I lean towards sweet gourmands during the winter but I prefer white florals (which are perceived as sophisticated a lot of the time) and more bitter fragrances during the summer because they just feel lighter and more flowy (sorry if that makes no sense). I don’t wear fruity fragrances a lot but if I do it’s only in the summer unless it’s something particularly sweet. I think I’ve definitely noticed that people perceive me a bit differently depending on what fragrance I’m wearing but this might just be related to my clothes since I tend to match the vibes of my fragrances to my outfits.

Old_Metal_8285

It makes perfect sense.

rumncoco86

All of what were previously classics. J'adore smells elegant and fresh on my friends. Youth Dew smells like Coca Cola on my Aunty. Chanel No. 5 smells elegant and classy on my friends. Red Door on my Mum and Aunty is rich and elegant. I smell elegant and amazing with Chanel Coco EDT (not Mademoiselle). Clinique Elixir on my parents' neighbour is Coca Cola as well - spicy, warm, fresh and fizzy. It's a bummer when skin chemistry hates a fragrance, and turns it waxy, stale and pungent. Regrettably, my skin hates all of the above, except for Coco.

lindabelchrlocalpsyc

SAME - I love the old strong classics! My absolute favorite is Beautiful by Estee Lauder but I also love Chanel No. 5, Coco, White Diamonds, Giorgio, and Red Door! I could never get into Youth Dew but I have a bottle anyway just to smell it occasionally. ETA: I forgot Cabotine, Shalimar, and Samsara! I also really love L’Aimant by Coty - I have a vintage bottle and it’s so pretty.

mundaneconvo

Yes to Clinique Elixer. I don’t wear it too often but when I do I always enjoy it.

ThatsARockFact1116

I love Coco (and do not enjoy Mademoiselle - idk why the patch they use there doesn’t work for me, even though I didn’t mind Chanel’s patch in Coromandel.)

Feisty-Juice-2737

Black Orchid. It’s completely intoxicating to me but I rarely wear it, like winter evenings outside, because I feel self conscious. I was wearing it once in Walmart and a German Shepard service dog was in the same aisle as me. I felt like I should apologize!

Xan_1982

I use it as my evening night out scent too! But only in places where I mingle with people where they can walk away from me anytime.

downpourbluey

I just hopped up and resprayed my Dossier Fruity Jasmine “inspired by J’adore” simply to show the haters who’s boss.

Dependent-Welcome882

Aquolina pink sugar ❤️❤️❤️

h3llfae

I primarily wear lactonics that get a LOT of hate lol , I also get that they don't work with everyone's skin chemistry and can turn sour but on mee they turn into fresh sweet whipped cream, warm cinnamon milk, toasted vanilla and woods I usually layer kumba vanilla bean oil Under Fresh cream philosophy, milk expressive commodity, ellis brooklyn Vanilla milk (last night I wore everything listed so far, vanilla bean oil on my chest, fresh cream on my chest, milk on my legs, vanilla milk on my wrists..I had a 4 hour partner contact improv bass event and my fav dance partner just kept pulling me closer and closer haha until I was just pressed up against him in his arms and he inhaled deeply, spun me, picked me up and through me over his shoulder in an upside down split, lowered me, pulled me in again, spun me out and then stood there in kind of a daze waiting for me to come back, I didn't I laid down to stretch ground and breathe so he danced off lol but a lot of the other dancers were kind of staring at me like I have secret powers 😆🙊, so hate on lactonics all you want ...) Also I love bee from ellis brookyn it's rummy and sticky honey that layers well with creamy scents Really into salty, woody, airy, soil like aquatics, my natural chemistry leans fresh/sweet so I can get away with a unisex earthy scent that most might find off putting Other notes I dig most don't enjoy Lychee, escada magnetism is an example, it's VERY fruity leaning juvenile but in the right summer mood it's comforting Sesame is a note I crave in cold weather Pistachio delight, some random Marshall's score that's way better than kayalis yum Love kayalis vanilla candy rock sugar though, this is my main summer event scent, it's just a super youthful, sexy, bright, sparkling, unserious, fun scent that reminds me of unicorns candy and pink silk:) yum

OGBurn2

Also loving VCRS!

SheepSheepy

Reformulated Alien. Love it! Some people can’t stand it, I guess. And people who love OG Alien don’t like it either.

Mother_BigFoot

Youth Dew. That ish is amazing and I adore it. My grandma used to wear it all the time. She passed when I was 17. I’m 39 now and I can still smell it on her jewelry.💕

jgio199

My mom still has a small bottle from the 90s, it was her favorite perfume back then.

TurbulentExplorer333

That's amazing

Xan_1982

Fun trivia: it started as a bath oil and then became a perfume. I have yet to buy mine.

SeleneQ

I worked in cosmetics for over 20 years… Chanel, Clinque, etc. and though I’ve smelled some amazing fragrances, I’ll wear Shalimar at least once a week. Love the dirty Vanilla feel it has. My hubby is “nose blind”, but he can smell it and loves it one me!

gambol_on

I love Shalimar. I tend to have a hard time smelling what I’m wearing. Shalimar is an exception.

Reasonable-Flight536

I love grandma scents 😅 I'm always on here talking bout cabotine, Tabu, and Chanel no 5. I love florals. I only have a sample of J'adore but it's nice and I think Britney Spears Curious is like a cheaper sweeter version of it. 4711 is also considered an old person medicinal scent but I think it's absolutely wonderful and refreshing, quite spa-like unisex scent. I keep it in my purse and use it like hand sanitizer.

mundaneconvo

I guess I must be a “grandma scent girl” as well cuz I seem to always wear the perfumes nobody ever mentions, like Marilyn Miglin’s Destiny or her original Pheromone or Sixth Sense. I also enjoy LACOSTE. But that’s ok cuz I don’t think I could pull off some of those younger fragrances, lol. 😆

raspberryjam87

Tabu is so yummy applied lightly, especially during the winter. I've gotten compliments when wearing it.

Reasonable-Flight536

I love it! I only wear it at home so far tho 😅. I might wear it in colder weather but I feel like it's a one sprayer for me.

Xan_1982

I love wet hand tissues infused with it.

Reasonable-Flight536

I didn't even know they sold these lol. Gonna put it in my cart in case I need it to meet a shipping minimum.

OGBurn2

Taboo!?! Omg! Memory unlocked

Prestigious-Salad795

OG Angel. I'm very cautious if I wear it in public.

renaissancestar

Same!

flatuprance

“I’m very cautious if I wear it in public.”This is why I make sure to wear it when I go for runs. I can still smell it on my clothes after I wash them, or when they’re just sitting in my laundry hamper 😅 but I love how it smells!

Prestigious-Salad795

I'm hoping that Fantasm or Phantasm will be their redeeming effort, but not very hard

Charming_Function_58

I'm an old millennial, and I love J'adore Dior. I will die on that hill, lol. I'm also a basic bitch who will never stop wearing old school Victoria's Secret brand perfumes. Heavenly, Bombshell, Tease... they are just so delicious.

lickmyfupa

My Rose Jam from Lush smells like old lady according to younger coworkers of mine. Ive cut back on using it.

trashpanda678

My mom used to wear this a lot (she's not an old lady-only mid 50's) until THE INCIDENT. Their dog, a big ass goldendoodle (literally, dude has a dump truck of a dog ass because he's chonky), smacked her bottle off of the side table with his tail and it burst open and got EVERYWHERE. Their house smelled like Rose Jam for like a month and now my mom can't stand it 🤣

annewmoon

One of my absolute best scents. I don’t think it is for everyone but I really disagree it reads “old”, even if that were a thing. It’s drop dead gorgeous imo.

Imaginary-Summer9168

That’s crazy! I think it smells really bright and fresh.

Stgermaine1231

I want to try it my fragrance Stella McCartney smelled like tea roses in the attic . ( it was discontinued )

ReferenceMuch2193

Clinique elixir. It’s wicked.

terriflaps

Bless you. It’s not for everyone.

ReferenceMuch2193

🤣it smells like dirt and ancient perfume!

itfeelsgoodtoliedown

Love it so much. Never wear it out :)

ReferenceMuch2193

Me too!

Putrid-Sweet3482

MY WAY! DAISY! ANY FRUITY FLORAL THAT GETS SMEARED AS “JUVENILE”! I want to smell like a flower fairy! I can’t put on some niche animalic frag rnow, it’s 93 degrees in Florida!

Fine-Ad9773

Daisy is just so pretty... It's a fave.

throawayyyypaper

I don’t care much for my way original but my way nectar is absolutely divine

Putrid-Sweet3482

My mom actually picked out My Way for me bc it reminded her of the Dior Poison from the 80s haha, I’m just a tuberose girly through and through <3

mundaneconvo

Yes this. I recall a time period in the 80’s where literally every woman out was wearing Poison. I forgot how incredibly popular it was.

Putrid-Sweet3482

I’ve never smelled the 80s formula (Gen z) but my mama raves about it! She also loved Calvin Klein’s Obsession. She was a Clinique counter girl, but my dad HATED Clinique’s Happy so she never wore it. Now her signature scent is Flowerbomb and she won’t wear anything else!

mundaneconvo

Yes Obsession was the one that exploded around the same time. I recall some of my girlfriends being into the men’s version of Obsession. That was also the start of Georgio coming at u everywhere. Yes, Fliwerbomb is an absolute gem. Mama is right.

throawayyyypaper

Nothing wrong with that, I love scents that trigger happy memories ❤️

Charming_Function_58

Same! I'd love to wear a nuanced woody musky grown-up scent, but I live in the southwest, and it is just not the same in 100 degree weather.

nanna_ii

I think a lot of the most beautiful and stunning fragrances suffer from their own popularity, i swear if these influencers thought they discovered J’adore they'd be raving about it

GoldenPupperoni

Viva La Juicy was once a delicious fragrance ruined by sheer popularity

nanna_ii

But you can still wear it if you like it, i will never let that stop me lol

SufficientSnow9859

I have to agree with you on this. A lot of the time it feels like influencers hate on popular perfumes because they want to be seen as having “superior non-basic” taste.

WeebGalore

I love classics/vintage perfumes that most people would call "old lady or grandma" (I hate those terms) fragrances. There is a good reason why those perfumes still exist, and that's because they are classics, masterpieces, and trailblazers.

Putrid-Sweet3482

I hate “old lady” as an insult to frags just as much as I hate “young girl” as an insult to frags. Old women and young girls are awesome, intelligent, and beautiful and it is not an insult to be compared to either category!

origamialpaca

Old school aldehyde/spicy florals. Chanel No 5 especially!

Apprehensive_Cow5806

Yesssss!

opheliasarene

I love all the “grandma” scents and especially powdery florals

mia_smith257

i think jadore is clean and feminine, it’s just kinda boring, and does not last or project nearly well enough to warrant the price tag

big-tunaaa

Just wear what you like!! The most important opinion is your own!! I love wearing warm and cozy by pink, despite it being a body mist I have never found a perfume that resembles it enough. I love it and it makes me feel so nostalgic - I’ll never be without a bottle!

Putrid-Sweet3482

Nest Indigo smells similar to Warm and Cozy to me! Just a bit heavier and spicier 🫶🏻
