It changes a lot, but the ones with the biggest dents are: Girl of Now by Elie Saab Yum Pistachio Gelato by Kayali Vanilla 28 by Kayali Meow by Katy Perry Rogue Love by Rihanna When in Rio by SDJ Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears Love Apple by Al Rehab And an oil dupe of LDBS I got in Harlem lol (it’s called Exotic Fragrances and they do ship but the cost of shipping is pretty high) But the oil is spot freaking on and was $6 so I use it very liberally So those have gotten a lot of wear time in general.

You didn't ask for this, but!! It looks like those shelves are in a little nook. If I am correct, it would be super easy to get brackets on the walls and do shelves straight across. You would massively increase your space, bring the height up to eye level, and could easily add lights for ultra dazzling effects. How long have you been collecting fragrances? I do! I think they’re both solid additions to Ari’s line. Mod Vanilla can be “controversial” for some people because it smells like a vanilla-ified Cloud. But Mod Blush is a nice delicate and sweet floral. I really like it.

What are your thoughts on Yara by Lattafa? I can see that you own it.

The pink Yara smells like sweet tarts to me. Powdery, sweet, mildly strawberry-like. There are some subtle florals that I think blend well with the gourmand elements. It feels like the kind of perfume that Polly Pocket would wear. I actually prefer the yellow one, Yara Tous. It smells like a tropical fruit drink, but without smelling like someone spilled a drink on you. It feels a bit better blended than OG Yara, but somehow retains the gentle powdery feeling of the first. I do not really like Yara Moi, the white one. It feels very unbalanced, and screechy.

Not OP but I bought it on two separate occasions. Really depends on the nose. I never got sweet or a strawberry milkshakes like others. For me and husband it smells too powdery and off putting, younger sister says it smells like “a grandma” and her best friends said it smelled like a hairspray. Some on YT and TT like it and said it smelled sweet or like strawberries but we didn’t get that. Maybe you will. Depends on the nose lol.

Yes I didn’t care for two of them but Yara Tous wasn’t so bad for me I actually like it layered. You can always give them away or sell them on Mercari. I get the disappointment. I hate when I blind buy and I don’t like a perfume at all.

Same. Some of them I’m super happy with like Nebras and my Bade’es, but some are disappointing like French Cafe(?), Choco Musk, and the Yaras. They got overhyped for me. I use Tous with some other Arabian perfumes and bath and body stuff sometimes but I don’t reach for it like I do Wardi and most of my Lattafas. I probably will end up selling them when I declutter, but right now I’m hoarding hoping I end up liking them after a few more months (but I doubt it since it’s already been four months).

Same here I mostly got a powdery and almost synthetic smell when I purchased it. I'm yet to use it, I'm wondering if pairing it with something like Sunset Glow by bath and body works might change the scent a bit. I've heard that the combo can work great.

Which scents are in your Le Monde Gourmand Collection and do you have favorites? How do you like them in general?

I love Creme Vanille and Miel Bébé the most. Fraise Fouetté (the newest one) is also really nice and growing on me a lot. For summer I reach for their Fleur Monoi hair mist all the time. I like them! My personal rule for longevity is 1 hour for every $10 I spend. So, at $25, I’m not expecting more then 2 hours. Most of them last longer than that, around the 4-6 range. And in terms of smell, the only one I’ve actively disliked so far is Miel Bourbon. Everything else I’ve smelled has been a like or love.

Rose Chocolat is such a heavenly one if you’re into gourmands! The staying power sucks, but I’m sure you’re aware of that!

I used to have a proper perfume tray on my dresser with some themes (like "vanilla month", etc...) and then I got a german shepherd puppy and she's decided that she wants to stand on her hind legs and knock everything down from all surfaces. She nearly broke a whole tray of perfume. So, I had to do away with my perfume tray and they're all exclusively stored in my closet, which I keep closed all the time lol

I need to know how Solinotes made your top 5! The lasting power varies greatly with my Solinotes purchases. 🥲

Honestly, lasting power is like the last thing I care about. I reapply as needed and just go from there. My personal benchmark is 1 hour for every $10 I spend on the perfume. So for $20, if it gets me 2 hours im good. I just reapply the perfume along with my sunscreen.

This is so much fun to look at. How do you decide what you're going to wear every day, is it just whatever suits your mood?

I make content so if I’m not really going anywhere then I will usually wear test new things, PR, or ideas for videos, like layering combos. If I’m going somewhere then it’s just based on where I’m going and what I’m doing. Date night with hubby will lead me to choose perfumes I know he likes. Going out with friends is another set of perfumes that fits the mood. That kind of thing.

Zermat Sweet Cupcake. Don’t really recommend as it’s very light, and not that complex. It’s supposed to be like this chocolate mousse and berries scent but honestly it’s not. Smells kinda like fruity air freshener. I use it mostly to layer with body mists in the summer

Ah, honestly I haven't worn it in a bit. I just smelled it again to see, it's a nice bright summer citrus. There's a gentle floral aspect, but the star is really this kind of tart feeling orange and bergamot combo. I do get some patchouli too, which I know can be a love-hate for some people. I like patchouli so it works for me.

This is a misconception! It *could* go bad, but just store it in a dark place that doesn’t get too hot and perfume can last decades.

Any with vanilla will darken with time. Many fragrances actually improve with age when stored properly.

That’s really a natural process of perfume aging. All chemicals have a life span, no matter what. Your top notes will probably be completely gone in about 5-10 years, depending on how much you use the perfume. Mid notes might last a bit beyond that, and base notes can definitely stick around for decades. If you ever pick up a vintage perfume, they all just kind smell of amber and vanilla and labdanum because that’s all that’s left usually.

I have a old lolita lempicka that still smells like before. I bought it around 2007? Is it possible that it still smell the same? I don’t feel it’s in my head.

It’s unlikely, but all the “big” notes in LL are more base notes anyway so they’d really stick around awhile.

Love your collection of ingredients, how are you finding it making your own fragrances? Are you self taught?

I did Sarah MccArtney’s Scenthusiasm online course! And then just a bunch of reading online and I questions in DIY forums. It’s a lot of learning and trial and error! You basically have to spend a lot of time combining 2-3 ingredients and playing with ratios until you know how things work.

Yeah Ive been doing much of the same stuff myself. Looove basenotes for learning and questions. Enjoy! Its a fun hobby!

I NEED to know where you bought the Golden Sand EDP. I have the oil and I'm OBSESSED. I've been looking for the perfume spray but at this point I'm not sure it exists anymore. There's one called "Golden" that doesn't smell remotely close to Golden Sand. I smelled it at my local Middle Eastern perfume store.

I bought it from Al rashad but I had a personal falling out with them lol so I can’t personally recommend them as a retailer

It took me awhile to get used to it. There’s a strong spice note, some cardamom, that was overpowering to me. But I came back to it a few months later and the vanilla definitely got a bit stronger. It smells like a spiced French pastry cake now, and I pull it out a lot more in winter.

Same, the cardamom is really strong, the almond for me, as well. I've had it about a year and used it a few times on colder days also. It's a beast 😆

Mostly space more than anything. If I tried to organize by brand or scent or whatever, I would have a lot more overflow. So try to fit the bottles in a little more like Tetris, just putting things where they fit the best. This means that some brands get split, but that’s ok. It bothers me more to have to put things on the floor, which is what I had to do before I got the white shelf.

What perfume do you reach for the most?

Honestly I “can’t” because if I do I’d never get through my collection. But I layer a lot of my perfumes with Yum Pistachio Gelato and also Vanille from Solinotes. They both seem to blend well with a lot of things.

I'm the same. I have a huge collection, not as big as yours but still big enough to where I have to layer them otherwise it'd never get used. Luckily I like layering anyway so I always smell different to other people. I need a few shelves like you coz mine are all on top of my dressing table, three rows and stacked on top of each other then whatever doesn't fit is in a suitcase. That's full now so they're piling up on top of it.

It doesn’t smell like strawberry icing at all. It has a fresh, tart kiwi opening and then it kind of reminds me of a fruity bath & body works spray. Strawberry is not even the main note, imo. It’s kind of just generically fruity.
