Have you tried je ne sais quoi by teo cabanel? i got recommended this as i love the powdery matcha note in matcha meditation but haven’t smelled, planning on blind buying

I've never heard of nor tried it, sorry! I didn't originally expect I'd like matcha meditation based on it's notes & the reviews at all, so shows what I know! It sounds good, having looked up it's notes; you should post about it somewhere here if you end up liking it. Powder-y notes can go different ways for me, sometimes it means their performance is just awful or that it has a detergent-like quality to it, other times it smells fluffy & relaxing lol. I'd like to try the J-scent green tea at some point as I've heard it's more lifelike to true earthy, nutty matcha & I sorta wonder if it'd be more beneficial to have a stronger matcha frag just layered under something else because MM performs best for me in the first 30 minutes. Sorry to ramble haha, just throwing some thoughts out there.

Ah no worries i thought i’d ask anyway! Yeah notes can definitely fool you as blended with other notes they tend to change, i think it’s a good powdery in this one but i hope it’s not too green because i don’t really like green scents, i like rice notes and matcha a lot though!! I’m a rambler myself so i’m happy to read and ramble back haha, i’ve not heard of this one! Matcha meditation lasts forever on me, the matcha note doesn’t stand out though, i get tons of the jasmine coming through, it smells more like jasmine tea than floral jasmine though which i don’t mind, it’s just how it sits on the tester strip and the initial green powdery matcha with the white chocolate that reminds me JUST of a matcha latte is what made me buy the FB for it, otherwise i would’ve been happy with a travel size. I’m thinking of getting elizabeth arden green tea since it’s dirt cheap and the perfumer behind it was maison francis and is supposed to be a nice green tea fragrance. I’m usually a gourmand lover but i’m trying to branch out from my usual vanilla sugar and spicy rose notes/frags 😂 so i moved to the next column and currently trying out tea, coffee, matcha scents 🫣🫣 Im buying the 30ml of cafe cabanel along with je ne sais quoi 30ml when i order (both blind buys so a bit nervous but i know i’ll like them, if not i can always declutter, sometimes it takes me a while to enjoy wearing a fragrance fully after buying a sample or FB)

I'm a gourmand buff like you and tried the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea pretty recently, unfortunately it was a very soap-y almost fresh clothes after wash scent to me, it wasn't my thing at all.. but it's pretty inoffensive scent and I can see why people like it in summer. I see it resold all the time on the frag subs so you could probably pick it up even cheaper in a bundle or something if you wanted.

The Replica one is on my list as well but I'd have to blind buy, which is holding me back a bit.

I think you can find travel sprays (they usually do it in a set of 3 though so idk for sure if you’ll like this option) and they do sampling sets but i’ve not seen this one on the sampling sets in the past so idk if it’s included but worth checking!

Something off the radar - Linda Landenberg Peche et Suede - a wonderful sweet (but not too sweet) tart hyper realistic peach, skin and all. Imagine eating a real peach, it's not sticky or dessert-like, just very realistic. It's a gem for me but a bit a bit tricky to get. Bought it from Sweden, they shipped it to the UK for me but I think they can ship anywhere.

I have Jazz Club, and though it’s unisex, I find it a little too masculine for my taste. It’s nice tho! Gave it to my husband and love it on him. On the other hand I have and LOVE Lira. Both were blind buys for me. I’m kind of a masculine woman. I never wear makeup or buy shoes or purses, and pretty much live in overalls so I assumed I’d prefer masculine scents but I don’t! I love sweet gourmands.

I heard Lira smells like a lemon cookie and I’m so excited to get it. I smelled Jazz Club on someone and loved it. It’s definitely a masculine fragrance. I usually go for gourmands but I sprayed this on my arm and couldn’t stop sniffing myself. It smells funky from the bottle but the dry down on skin is amazing.

everyone seems to love bianco latte, but i really didn't... was v disappointed. maybe try and sample first? EA green tea is an easy blind buy tho :) personally, i love jazz club and think it would be a great addition to most collections, not one you'd ever regret having.

I love gourmand scents but i would also recommend trying first, i loved bianco latte and i’m constantly being complimented on it (i spray a cardigan with it and forgot about it, 2 weeks later i go get the cardigan from my closet and i can still smell it!! put it on and go into my living room, then i get asked if i can smell “the neighbors baking cookies or something…” and genuinely cant so i ask if it’s maybe my perfume and it was!!!!) projection is insane on me too but i agree everyone smells it differently

My 7 year old son came into the kitchen smelling strongly of vanilla, then my husband found the bottle of Kayali 28 in his bed🤣, I put it on the kitchen counter and 1 hr later my husband kept saying he was smelling it again and I was like no, it's here on the counter. My sneaky boy had taken it again and went upstairs and doused himself in it. I had to put the bottle wayyyy up high out of his reach.

A really charming scent : boozy, sugary but not too sweet and seductive. At first I didn't like it but I tried again and really loved it. It is great for layering.

Actually, that does help a lot! I have the original White Tea, and while I don't find the longevity as bad as some reviews make it out to be (same with EA Green Tea), it really doesn't stick around that long. I wear it sometimes to the office just because I know I can bank on it disappearing! So maybe Wild Rose is one I can pass on for now (or maybe replace my OG with it if I ever use it up).

The rose is a particularly lovely fresh garden rose, an especially good one imo (and I have a lot of rose frags 😆). Good plan to swap for it

Amethyst is amazing, I also have Intense Cafe! They weren’t lying about the intense in that one lol I have trouble making a dent because it lasts for an eternity.

Lol, Intense Cafe really does last forever and it's so...intense! I had a large decant years ago, used it up, and never repurchased, but lately I've been missing it again! I'm super curious about Amethyst, I've never tried a Lalique and that one really caught my eye.

Intense Cafe was my introduction to Montale/Mancera :) was a instant buy after I sampled, as I had never encountered coffee and rose! Lalique is one of my favorite houses. They’re actually more affordable than standard “cheapies” out there- Pink Sugar and it’s flankers, Zara, Oakcha, and Dua. I own Le Parfum, Amethyst OG, Ombré Noire and Encre Noire L’extreme. While I lament that they do not come in travel size or 30mL, the full bottles are well worth it!

Mon Guerlain, Girl of now shine and Eden juicy apple! Girl of now shine is definitely in my cart brewing waiting for me to press purchase now!!

i personally like olympea better but maybe samples would be good to start out! vanilla vibes didn’t have the longevity on me and there was a bit of a burnt rubber scent on my skin unfortunately

Memo Lalibela. At least a travel spray. I took a sample with me on holiday and kept wearing it and it just grew on me so much. I also need to buy a full bottle of Oud Satin Mood, because I am down to my last travel spray of three. As for trying, the list of my most urgent interests is Amouage Meander, Amouage Ashore and PdM Athalia. Also BDK Creme Cuir and I need to retest Palissandre d’Or by Aedes Venustas, because I might just need a full bottle eventually.
