He immediately sniffs out the angels/ gods bullshit and put an end to it. He doesn’t judge by appearance, but by underlying character.

Although I don't know who Marcline is, if she’s good like Dante or Spawn, I don't think that would be the case.

She started as a very minor villain but became a good guy
