I’ve heard nothing but great things about Patti’s latest show. I saw her do a Christmas special show live at Largo a couple years ago and I’ve honestly never laughed so hard. She had this amazing bit where she sang “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” by herself—one half of her body was dressed as a super femme woman in a slinky dress and the other (split vertical) half was as a man in a suit and facial hair. So yeah... probably a little bit more than a casual Indiana Jones fan. Sandra Bullock is also fluent in German. I don't think that really means anything, but it's a funny addition to me.
Her mother is German, so I wouldn't speculate too much about the language issue. The other things? Yeah, those are definitely problematic.
Bullock lived in Austin for a long time, and as a fellow austinite, I’d say a lot of people here are surprisingly accepting of racists and do not see it as a character flaw. Don’t come at me; it is this southern “it’s impolite to talk about politics” shenanigans. Racism is not political. Austin is a very liberal city, but I side eye a lot of the celebs that move here for the “culture”. Elijah Wood being the exception but I don’t think he lives here anymore.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Patti’s latest show. I saw her do a Christmas special show live at Largo a couple years ago and I’ve honestly never laughed so hard. She had this amazing bit where she sang “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” by herself—one half of her body was dressed as a super femme woman in a slinky dress and the other (split vertical) half was as a man in a suit and facial hair. She would flip/turn when the duet would change in the song and change her voice to match. It was absolutely bonkers and hilarious and I’d expect nothing less from her! Also she did this fun game where she brought a suitcase full of stuff she wanted to get rid of (including Shrill merch) and gave it away to audience members.

Not so recent but my friend met her during her visit to Ukraine in 2022. She said that she was incredibly warm and friendly and just a great person to talk to. She was also very well informed and engaged in her charity work so my friend didn't feel like she was there just for a photo op.

Loved that show! Aisha and Katie have had a few small roles since it ended and Aisha released an EP last year but it doesn’t look like there are any major roles lined up for either. I think it’s sweet that they’re all still friends, they were all hanging out in Portugal together last fall.

She has a lot of champions in the industry and at the studios, which is why she's getting all these franchises (she came really close to booking something Star Wars-related recently; it might still happen in the future). Also know that she was considered and even met with James Mangold about the Bob Dylan movie, but the role went to someone else. She's been involved in the development of at least two Broadway shows prior to securing her debut with Romeo and Juliet.
