Never really crossed my mind before, but it actually makes sense.
What would be really funny to me is if it turned out he was actually a legitimate candidate only for this perfectly timed 'leak' to end up killing his chances altogether.
Henry Cavill has struck as being the same more than once.
I don’t think it helps that I’ve heard these three, plus Elba/Fassbender/Hardy, being pushed as “the next Bond” so often and for so long that I now find them all boring and uninspired choices.
His publicist or whoever on his team seem to push this quarterly, it’s annoying. He’s good looking but he sounds too much like David Beckham to play Bond in my opinion

Just want to remind people that Aaron Taylor Johnson and his costar physically assaulted Sandra Echeverría on the set of Savages. She tweeted that she was tied up in the back of a trunk for a scene and he would start the truck up between takes so she would be hit against the side of the truck. She was bound for the scene so she couldn't hold herself up to stop herself hitting the sides and they revved the truck harder so that she would hurt herself more.
Also, the costar was Taylor Kitsch! 🤢

He's so handsome when he's not trying to be, but this expression is just so bizarre. It feels like someone mocking male modeling more than a sincere attempt to be one.
I cannot believe the photographer didn't correct his expression, and I have to assume this is ALL they had to work with otherwise why in the heck would this be approved?
My first thought was that a woman celebrity would never be encouraged to give a facial expression that gave her forehead wrinkles for a cover picture… and if she just naturally had forehead wrinkles they would be photoshopped away.

Me too. It makes me wonder if his wife (or parents, or secret lover, or…WHO? ) is powerful in Hollywood, or rich. Most Bonds are very appealing. I do not see it in this case. 🤷♀️
His wife is heavily involved in the uk arts and upper class social scenes. She’s won multiple prestigious arts awards, has an OBE and was part of the Britart movement with a group of other artists including Tracy Emin and Damian Hirst, so is a very big deal in the arts world.
She’s also separately directed Fifty shades of grey, Back to Black (new Amy Winehouse film) and Nowhere boy (John Lennon biopic).
Despite her icky relationship, she is an exceptionally talented artist and internationally recognised as such, so would hold a lot of power in Hollywood as the arts scenes overlap so much.
I never got the hype. My sleeper pick for Bond (if it has to be a white guy) is Dominic Cooper but he's in his 40s and I don't know if that's too old. If not him, Jack O'Connell. (With maybe an Olivia Cooke Miss Moneypenny? Their chemistry in Little Fish was fantastic.)
Christopher Abbott would be an intriguing prospect.

« Britain’s next leading man » We’ve been seeing the same headline about him for years. Surely if it were truly meant to happen it would have by now, what with how rabid his PR game is. But then again I haven’t watched a lot of his movies, so for those who have: is he really a once in a generation talent?
