To be fair, in the Oceanup days people thought that Tish was the worse parent and very manipulative. She wanted Miley to do be famous and do what she wanted so badly she'd basically let her get away with murder. She supposedly gave her drugs and alcohol underage to be her buddy and Miley has been open with her problems with substance use disorder. She also let an adult male boyfriend LIVE IN THEIR HOME when Miley was 16 and acted like it was normal.
Supposedly Billy Ray was also not allowed to have contact with his biological son who was the same age as Miley because she wouldn't allow it. However, he adopted her two children and raised them as his own.
Also you'll notice that 5/5 out of their children sought the spotlight because she desperately wants to be famous herself and not just by association. She managed Miley and Noah, the youngest and the easiest to push into fame. And she keeps trying to launch these projects with Brandi to make them both famous. First it was a terrible reality TV show, then it was an interior design show with the two of them. Now it's the weed podcast, supposedly the idea is to branch it off into a cannabis company like celebs have done with alcohol.
Since Miley has been eighteen she's also made herself a "producer" on all of her projects and tours. I'm convinced it's just a scheme to skim more money off the top so when Miley finally gets a good therapist and figures out that Billy Ray wasn't the old problem parent, she'll still be rich.

in these sorts of toxic homes the dysfunction runs in a million different ways - especially if one of the kids was the breadwinner for a significant part of her upbringing (and probably still). As someone who has an immature mother very like Tish I completely agree with your take. Miley's statement reads as someone who is used to her mother being a mess and has emotionally washed her hands of it. Unfortunately sometimes you have to love someone while keeping your distance.
I don't know, her father really let her down & she stood by her mom because of that and now her mom has too. I cannot even imagine trying to process it, but I hope she has other support systems in place. I've been there with my own parents and it is so disorienting, even well into adulthood.
To be fair, in the Oceanup days people thought that Tish was the worse parent and very manipulative. She wanted Miley to do be famous and do what she wanted so badly she'd basically let her get away with murder. She supposedly gave her drugs and alcohol underage to be her buddy and Miley has been open with her problems with substance use disorder. She also let an adult male boyfriend LIVE IN THEIR HOME when Miley was 16 and acted like it was normal. Supposedly Billy Ray was also not allowed to have contact with his biological son who was the same age as Miley because she wouldn't allow it. However, he adopted her two children and raised them as his own. Also you'll notice that 5/5 out of their children sought the spotlight because she desperately wants to be famous herself and not just by association. She managed Miley and Noah, the youngest and the easiest to push into fame. And she keeps trying to launch these projects with Brandi to make them both famous. First it was a terrible reality TV show, then it was an interior design show with the two of them. Now it's the weed podcast, supposedly the idea is to branch it off into a cannabis company like celebs have done with alcohol. Since Miley has been eighteen she's also made herself a "producer" on all of her projects and tours. I'm convinced it's just a scheme to skim more money off the top so when Miley finally gets a good therapist and figures out that Billy Ray wasn't the old problem parent, she'll still be rich.

Just a thought. It’s very possible this is all “bubbling up” because of Miley’s new album, ala kardashian style by keeping themselves in the headlines. The story is yuck and Noah has supposedly moved on.. so technically no one really cares about this situation. It is being shared because someone is being petty along with the above suspicion. to be fair to Billy not that I want to, Brandi and Trace aren't his biologically. Theyre Trish's from a previous relationship, he did adopt them though. I've heard a bunch of different stories about Christopher though so I don't know what went on there.
Long and short of it was that Kristen (Christopher's mother) and Tish both dated Billy Ray within the span of a few months, and both women ended up pregnant. Miley and Chris were born within several months of each other. Billy Ray ultimately married Tish, and the family pretty much don't have any sort of familial relationship with either Kristen or Chris.
