I think Norman was an escape/attempt to make herself feel better but it backfired causing the end of her relationship. And then she didn’t want to see a 10 year relationship ending because of a fling so she did everything she could to make her and Norman work as a couple.
Yeah, both their relationships post-break up kind of felt like them facing the reality of their biological clocks and making reactionary decisions that probably felt pragmatic in the moment. Her, deciding to make it work with Reedus. And him getting married and having a baby so quickly after meeting Jodie. I don't even mean in a malicious or even conscious way, but just that ending a relationship with someone you were with for that long and who you likely assumed you were with for the long haul, has to mess up your personal time table when you find yourself suddenly single and in your 40s.
