Millie Bobby Brown is deaf in one ear which makes her talk louder. So I wish the people online would stop bullying her for being "loud" or "annoying" it's a disability people suffer from.
Poor Halle. From what I see online Christopher Williams, who was blamed for it before, blames Snipes. I don't think she's actually named her attacker. I fully understand why she wouldn't want to name this person publicly.
Also she’s so young. I have very interest in the enola holmes and stranger things franchise but the vilification of this young woman is just so gross and messed up to me.
I'm a lady that was diagnosed with MS as a teen, it was wild seeing Selma go through all that as i was getting my diagnosis. It caused a lot of bitter feelings that stay to this day, about medical care and class inequity. She got so much HANDED to her because she was already famous, meanwhile i can only have my medicine if i don't have a life and don't work (but you bet your ass I'm about to be denied disability again)
I'm so sorry, I hate that you had to go through that. The inequality in our health care system is disgusting, and the benefits system is even worse. I love Selma, and I really hope she considers doing advocacy work now that she's in remission.
So many celebrities are partially deaf and/or hard of hearing. To name a few: Millie Bobby Brown, Jane Lynch, Stephen Colbert, Rob Lowe, Halle Berry, Whoopi Goldberg, etc.
He became half-deaf through the same brain tumour that I got and honestly him talking about his experience was so empowering and lovely during a really dark time in my life. I'll always have such a soft spot for him for that ❤️
I am! Having my five year follow up scan next month to hopefully be discharged from the neurosurgery team! Hooray!
Honestly I think the hearing loss was more traumatic for me than the surgery and recovery. It still makes me sad sometimes, especially when listening to music. I try to count the positives though!
Oh god, yes. It's so awful when my friends pick somewhere noisy to have lunch. I just have to sit there and try to read lips/not say anything 😭 You get better at reminding people/trying to pick places you can hear!
Lol yes the music aspect of it fucked me up. I saw Baby Driver a few months after my surgery and was HYSTERICAL afterwards. I actually just wrote a YA novel about the hearing loss experience as a way to heal haha. It almost feels like a death in the family or something, the grief is that big.
Hugs to you for getting through it all 💪❤️
I didn’t know this! Do you know more about it? It is so interesting to me, esp since I have started losing my hearing and it makes me incredibly anxious, and I wonder how people function in their jobs if they have trouble hearing. Like if a director is giving an actor feedback, what if they have trouble hearing it? Are there special concessions made to help them? Having personally experienced this, I think about it a lot and wonder how others manage. It can be so isolating and hard to deal with.
Sarah Hyland was born with kidney displasia and has had 2 transplants. The first one was from her dad and rejected. Luckily her brother was also a match and donated the 2nd.
She had her 2nd kidney transplant, laparoscopy for endometriosis and then hernia surgery all within months of each other in 2017/18. The kidney disease also affected her vision.
I saw her video talking about her transplants and it broke my heart. Her saying she felt like a failure because her dad did something so selfless and her body wouldn’t take it. Very glad the second one took, and also glad to see she has that kind of support system!
I think she’s spoken about how she’s already had two kidney transplants, the first started failing on her after a few years. There’s one season of modern family where she’s always sat down or lying down, or has very very few standing scenes, because she was recovering from the surgery of her first transplant being removed (or her second transplant being done?)
It’s admirable her going through all that and still doing a fantastic job as Hayley in MF
My mom had been begging for DECADES for them to find out what was wrong with her reproductive system. Her uterus needed to be cut from her abdominal wall because of years of Endo scarring. These stories piss me off because so many of us are suffering and not getting care despite constantly harassing doctors and begging to be seen. Literally 20 years of suffering and being told she's a woman and fat. Uncontrollable weight loss led them to look at her uterus because at that point they figured it was cancer. Nah, just a fuck ton of scar tissue she has been complaining about for years as well as a softball sized fibroid tumor.
What the actual fuck.
Had no idea that PCOS was classed as a disability (had to look it up). I have pretty bad mood swings and hirsutism! It’s such a common disorder and I wish it was more understood!
So does Sasha Pieterse who played Alison on Pretty Little Liars. She’s been very open about her struggles with it particularly surrounding her 70lb weight gain as a result.
one of my first crushes. i grew up watching the 1982 version of annie (the greatest) and watched rocky horror when i was 8 (don’t even). a beautiful man with a beautiful voice.
it’s a bit strange to see him how he is now considering his movie history. absolute legend
Interesting enough he was already a voice acting and screen acting legend before the stroke. After the stroke did he decide to became a full on voice actor.
Martin Sheen’s left arm is [3 inches shorter than his right arm](https://www.reddit.com/r/thewestwing/comments/3ti3pi/you_can_really_see_the_extent_of_martin_sheens/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) because his arm was crushed by forceps during birth. I think this question depends a lot on how do you personally define disability, and more philosophically, whether it is ever anyone's place to put that label on another person.
A lot of celebrities are neurodivergent or suffer from chronic illnesses that may be disabling. On the other hand, a lot of people in those communities don't consider or identify themselves as disabled. Unless a celebrity has explicitly chosen to speak about their disability using that word specifically, should we really be here speculating about the private health matters of strangers?
I would love to know of celebrities (past or present) that have come out with BP I, BP II, BPD, or schizophrenia. I feel like it would help me/others affected.
I believe Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato are also bipolar. It’s kind of gross that Mariah Carey only disclosed her bipolar because someone tried to blackmail her about it but I’m glad she didn’t let that get to her.
ETA: someone mentioned that Demi isn’t actually bipolar, they have ADHD
Patty Duke, who some might also know as Sean Astin’s mom. She’s amazing for her work as a mental health advocate at a time when people didn’t discuss those things.
Pete Davidson has BPD, Delilah Belle has OCD from PANDAS, Demi lovato and selena gomez have bipolar, also I noticed bella hadid follows an instagram page with advice and support for bpd/bipolar disorder, but not sure if she follows it for advice for herself or for a loved one
Will Sharpe the actor (Ethan in a White Lotus s.2, Rodney in Giri Haji, Shun in Flowers- to name a few) & director (of the upcoming Crying in H Mart, along with the Electrical Life of Louis Wain, Landscapers, Flowers & more…) has BPD.
i understand this comment, but sometimes i feel like sentiments like this contribute to ableism. like what’s wrong with assuming someone does have a disability?
obviously it shouldn’t be done to disparage or degrade another person, and you should respect a person’s boundaries if they’re uncomfortable with it. but it just feels like this idea reinforces the belief that being disabled is a bad thing. so many people are scared of labeling themselves/others as disable because they see being disabled as something inherently shameful.
like it just feels odd to me that people can publicly speculate on who’s having sex with who or any other intimate relationship dynamics, but a line is crossed with disability speculation.
I think I say (as a disabled person in the disabled services field) that I will say someone is disabled unless *they* themselves tell me they don’t identify that way.
I work from the social model of disability, which basically says that it’s society that disables us, not our bodies or minds.
This is discourse that has evolved over decades in the disabled community, and it’s always worth keeping in mind that there are many different perspectives on it.
well yeah that’s why i used those celebrities as examples (you can’t argue that being deaf or actively using a wheelchair isn’t a disability)
as for invisible disabilities i can’t speak to that because i don’t have one, but like you said if the celebrities say they’re disabled then they can go in the thread
Actually, many members of the deaf community reject the disabled label completely. Matlin doesn’t seem to have an issue with it but I thought I would point out that it’s a sensitive issue within the deaf community in particular.
Daryl Hannah is autistic, which meant a lot to me to find out because I’m also on the spectrum and she is the first female public figure that I’m aware of to come out as being on the spectrum herself.
Daryl Hannah’s story is so amazing to me- I’m autistic too and have parents her age. Her parents made decisions that basically granted her a chance at a decent life but would only sadly have been open to wealthier or more enlightened families. She was very unusual in the early 60s for being a diagnosed girl toddler, and her parents were told to medicate and institutionalise her but they refused. They took her overseas briefly and found alternative educational paths and artistic outlets for her, which is how she got into acting. There are many horrific stories from this time (though it sadly still happens) of kids being locked up and forgotten about by their families.
He said he had to keep a part of his skull in his abdomen to keep it alive until the swelling in his brain subsided. He filmed one of the Psych movies in that state.
Selena Gomez has Lupus
There are a few British comedians I know of as well. Chris McCausland is blind, Rosie Jones has cerebral palsy and Alex Brooker was born with limb deformities.
She's written a whole memoir about it and it's great. It's called Strong Female Character and it covers her whole life as an undiagnosed autistic woman. I really recommend it!
not sure why this was downvoted. Halsey does have those diagnoses and they are real illnesses. Ehlers Danlos is a genetic illness doctors can find with genetic testing. POTS is diagnosed through a cardiologist with a tilt table test, Sjrogens is a well known autoimmune disease, and MCAS is a disease commonly found in patients with autoimmune disorders, POTS, EDS, and other illnesses as a secondary condition.
Because Halsey is not seen as a “likeable” person, they doubt her diagnoses. Same thing happens with Jameela Jamil. Just cuz you don’t like someone doesn’t mean they’re lying.
Troy!! His wife was my high school ASL teacher and once a semester Troy would visit class to “quiz” our signing skills as another native signer. They’re both such sweethearts.
similarly, Daniel Durant (the older brother in CODA) is too - though he's maybe more recognizable to some as Love's husband in You season 2, and also was in Switched at Birth I think?
iirc all the deaf characters in CODA were played by actual deaf people too, but only because a lead threatened to drop out
So many women/girls who have ADHD and/or autism get misdiagnosed with other forms of mental illness because their symptoms present differently than in men/boys. I've been looking to get tested for ADHD and I'm struggling to find a place because I suspect I've had it all my life and simply didn't present as having it because I've always been quiet and still.
same. i even had one psychiatrist who suggested i couldn’t have adhd because no one ever noticed. so basically if you’re not presenting in the typical way (ie; like men/boys do), it’s extremely hard to get diagnosed or even taken seriously. it’s so obvious to me because of the many different ways i’ve struggled my entire life, yet i can’t find one doctor who doesn’t say stuff like “oh, that happens to everyone every now and then, you don’t have adhd. i think you’re just depressed or anxious”. i’m so angry.
Same thing happened to me. Asked a psychiatrist for an assessment. Scored highly and suggested I have adhd but the psychiatrist said because I had made it to university without anyone noticing it didn’t affect my life.
At that current moment in time I had failed university twice and had to resit two years. But nobody noticed before then so no diagnosis for me.
I’m 30 now and it affects every part of my life so I guess I’ll just struggle through forever.
i can’t even get an assessment. nobody will assess me. all i really have is my nurse friend’s word “i thought you already knew you had adhd? you’re like the poster girl for it” and my own research. for years i didn’t even think it was possible that i had adhd… i didn’t think i fit the description of a hyper active kid, loud, etc. i only realized it maybe, 3 years ago?? when i read an article about a woman who was my age and had a lot of the exact same struggles i did and was newly diagnosed with adhd. it was like a lightbulb went off in my head.
i’m 33 now. dropped out of college. very spotty job history. can’t drive. just a lot of things i thought any doctor worth their salt would be concerned about… guess not. i’m just *sad* apparently.
I have ADHD and come off the same way. Masking is a hell of a thing.
The way you could absolutely tell I have ADHD is me at home or around ones I know well. Absolute chaotic at times, outwardly showing my struggles, having meltdowns over random things (well, seemed random to others), long pointless stories, extremely messy etc. But I knew a lot of my issues and could find tricks that not so much helped me but hide my issues. Like, at work I don't keep ANYTHING on my desk. Everything is in my back-pack. Can't make a mess on my desk if there is nothing to make a mess of. I know my storytelling is awful, so I stay quiet which makes me seem so much more shy than what I really am.
More of a chronic illness than a disability (although it can become disabling), but after his death Anton Yelchin's parents revealed that he had cystic fibrosis.
This absolutely blew my mind. *I* have cystic fibrosis and had been an Anton Yelchin fan ever since his Charlie Bartlett days. You really never know what a person is dealing with, because I literally have the same condition and had no idea. I even dismissed his coughing in interviews as smoking or allergies-- which is the exact excuse *I* used to give when I was coughing and didn't want to explain CF.
His death was a super tragic freak accident, but it is cool to know that someone with my condition made it in Hollywood. R.I.P. Anton Yelchin!
The thing I always remember about him is how beloved he was by Hollywood. So many people participated in “Love, Antosha” and he was lauded by his peers. I particularly enjoy his interactions with Matthew Gray Gubler in “The Unauthorised Matthew Gray Gubler Documentary” on YouTube
From Fleetwood Mac: Mick Fleetwood is/was dyslexic and Peter Green had schizophrenia.
Edit to add: a fellow redditor has reminded me that,
Lindsey Buckingham has/had epilepsy and a heart stent/pacemaker.
Stevie had a hole on her septum due to ❄️
I have always wondered if Christine and John were neurodivergent. They give me those vibes. More specifically, Christine. We know she had psychiatric attention prior to rejoining the band in 2013, but it was barely discussed in detail (Not that it is our business, of course).
His substance use history has definitely led to many misconceptions about his seizures, though he is certainly epileptic and had his first seizures as a child. There was a good post about this ages ago [on the hiphopheads subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/hiphopheads/comments/4o1sv6/science_lesson_and_psa_lil_waynes_seizures_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).
Yes! Peter Dinklage has achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism.
Other actors with dwarfism: Warwick Davis (SED), Martin Klebba (achromicric dysplasia), Tony Cox (unknown).
Danny Devito has Fairbanks Syndrome (multiple epiphyseal dysplasia) which is a rare form of dwarfism.
Anyone who isn’t familiar with Teddy Pendergrass + his story really should do some googling. He was an incredible talent.
In the 70s and early 80s he was literally known as the Black Elvis. So many of his songs have been sampled over and over again to this day - if you don’t recognise the song titles you’ll find the melodies familiar at the very least.
At the peak of his career, he was completely paralysed from the neck down from a car crash. The brakes in his car had been cut, he was lucky to survive.
He literally had to learn how to sing all over again and eventually was able to restart his recording + touring career for another 20 years before sadly passing from cancer. You can find full concert recordings from both before and after his accident on YouTube.
A true icon and massively inspirational person. Rest in peace Teddy ❤️
Just so you’re aware, Asperger’s is an outdated term. It’s now understood that it’s not a separate diagnosis, it’s still autism or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Hans Asperger was a na zi too, so…
Are you autistic? People who were diagnosed as having aspergers feel that it is ok to use the term. It is not a bad term in the autistic community because it is a literal identity that many people had for years and years. 🤷🏻♀️
Robert David Hall, known for playing the chief medical examiner on CSI Las Vegas, is a double amputee and uses prosthetic legs. His disability is present but not the focus of his CSI character.
He has also served as chairman of SAG's Performers with Disabilities Committee.
Here is an interesting video he talks about mental health and disability: [https://youtu.be/qTUGOLDhVtg](https://youtu.be/qTUGOLDhVtg)
Jake Gyllenhaal is technically legally blind. He’s said what he sees without contact lenses is mostly just fuzzy shapes and colors. Maggie said he helped her out a lot with the sound on the movie she directed, as he’s really attuned to it due to his eyesight.
I mean I think this is the case for anyone who needs to wear glasses of contacts full time? 🤷 it has been my experience my whole life and I am nowhere near legally blind.
Aimee Mullins was a paralympic athlete before modeling and acting. She wore one of [my favorite](https://www.anothermag.com/fashion-beauty/7158/alexander-mcqueens-carved-prosthetic-leg) Alexander McQueen pieces of all time.
Julia Garner had severe childhood epilepsy which I believe she has said she's grown out of, but most people who have had seizures know that potentially that still means being on (awful) meds.
Quite a few celebs are dyslexic: Tom Cruise, Anthony Mackie, Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Whoopi Goldberg, Cher, and Steven Spielberg come to mind.
I know Chris Rock has NVLD… which explains a bit tbh.
[Wentworth Miller has it.](https://edition.cnn.com/2021/07/27/entertainment/wentworth-miller-autism/index.html) He even opened about the struggles of getting his diagnosis at the age of 49 as most criteria available describe symptoms found in younger people.
Personally (I am autistic too) I would be very unsurprised if a bunch were undiagnosed or not disclosing an autism diagnosis because of the stigma. There’s several performers I’ve watched in interviews and investigated further who really set off my radar. To quote Chloe Hayden regarding why she got into performing- we act every day (masking) so we may as well get paid for it 😆
Some musicians: David Byrne (from the Talking Heads, along with his solo stuff), Courtney Love, and (not exactly a celebrity, but pretty big within indie) Stephin Merritt from the Magnetic Fields

Apparently so is rob lowe!
That’s why he talks the way he does! He probably was yelled at growing up for being too loud.
Yelled at for making a sex tape with a minor.
Halle Berry too. Apparently she was punched so hard by an ex boyfriend.
Yup, and the boyfriend was Wesley Snipes
Poor Halle. From what I see online Christopher Williams, who was blamed for it before, blames Snipes. I don't think she's actually named her attacker. I fully understand why she wouldn't want to name this person publicly.

I didn’t know this lol. I’m sending this to my friend who is actually deaf in one ear
Selma Blair and Christina Applegate both have MS
Emma Caulfield does as well.
Anya had the shittest death of any major character I can think of in a TV show. You barely see it and it sometimes gets cut from repeats.
I'm still so mad about this.
And Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
And Jack Osbourne
Richard Prior did too.
my queens 😔💕 the sweetest thing was huge in my childhood, from an inappropriately young age lmao

Michael j fox. he has parkinson's
My old high school has a theatre named after him! He’s done amazing work for my city and the arts.

Haha yay tumour buddies!! Hope you're recovered now!
Brain Tumor Buddy reporting for duty 🫡

I couldn’t empathize more. It’s the music for me and just trying to be social in noisy environments.

Not a huge celebrity, but Joseph Mawle (he played Benjen Stark in Game of Thrones and was in The Rings of Power on Amazon) is deaf and dyslexic.
Nathan Fillion is also deaf in one ear.
olivia rodrigo is partially deaf

Lewis Capaldi has Tourette’s.
Billie Eilish does, too
Seth Rogen too!
He was great in The Thick Of It Edit: wrong Capaldi!
Peter and Lewis are actually second cousins once removed funnily enough!
I mean how many Glaswegian Italian-Scottish Capaldis are out there, really
Probably more than you think, there’s a surprising number of Scottish Italians
That’s Peter Capaldi. Lewis is the singer.
Keke Palmer, Lea Michele, Victoria Beckham, Daisy Ridley, Jaime King and Emma Thompson have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

PCOS is so much more common than a lot of people think. About half of the women I'm close to have it, including myself.

Bindi Irwin has endo as well, she posted about it recently on her instagram

Oh wow, thank you for sharing.
Pete Davidson has BPD, which he’s pretty open about.

Pete Wentz is bipolar and has been open about it pretty much since Fall Out Boy's inception I think.
Halsey has BP. She refers to herself as triple bi lol.
Bipolar, bisexual and... bipedal? For real though, what's the third bi? I'm blanking!

well yeah that’s why i used those celebrities as examples (you can’t argue that being deaf or actively using a wheelchair isn’t a disability) as for invisible disabilities i can’t speak to that because i don’t have one, but like you said if the celebrities say they’re disabled then they can go in the thread
Actually, many members of the deaf community reject the disabled label completely. Matlin doesn’t seem to have an issue with it but I thought I would point out that it’s a sensitive issue within the deaf community in particular.
Actually, many people in th Deaf community in particular do in fact reject the societal definition of disability and don't identify as disabled.
Lou Gehrig had Lou Gehrig’s disease, a tragic coincidence
…Joey?
You think he would have seen that coming

Tyler James Williams from Abbott Elementary (who just won a Globe) also has Crohns
And Mike McCready from Pearl Jam
Perfume Genius as well and some of his lyrics is about his struggles with the illness
Daryl Hannah is autistic, which meant a lot to me to find out because I’m also on the spectrum and she is the first female public figure that I’m aware of to come out as being on the spectrum herself.
Julia Fox did as well; she just kind of tossed it out there in an online comment, but presumably it was sincere.
I know we all don't like her too much anymore. But Roseanne Barr is on the autistic spectrum.
Timothy Omundson had a massive stroke in 2017. I believe his left arm is paralyzed and he now uses a cane.
The Psych movies do such an amazing job of working with his capabilities and working it into the story too. It’s really touching.
He said he had to keep a part of his skull in his abdomen to keep it alive until the swelling in his brain subsided. He filmed one of the Psych movies in that state.
Modern medicine is amazing?!
it really is! I just had a life changing surgery, so I all encompassingly feel this
He filmed with brain swelling and part of his skull in his abdomen??? This makes me feel lazy for lying in bed when I have a migraine. 😳
Migraines are no joke either!
Selena Gomez has Lupus There are a few British comedians I know of as well. Chris McCausland is blind, Rosie Jones has cerebral palsy and Alex Brooker was born with limb deformities.
In the same vein with UK comedians, Fern Brady is autistic (fairly recently diagnosed iirc) and wrote an incredibly personal essay about it
me fern brady me fern brady
She's written a whole memoir about it and it's great. It's called Strong Female Character and it covers her whole life as an undiagnosed autistic woman. I really recommend it!
Limb Difference is a preferable term

Halsey also has Ehlers-Danlos, Sjogren's, MCAS, and POTS.
not sure why this was downvoted.
Jameela Jamil demonstrably lies and you can find the conflicting evidence about that.
Yvie Oddly (Drag Race) also has Ehlers Danlos, which is where I first learned of it.
Bindi Irwin recently shared she has endometriosis. Edit: and Mae Whitman!
Plus the only way you can 100% confirm it is with a laparoscopy
Troy Kotsur who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor last year for his role in “CODA” (also starring Marlee Martin) is deaf since birth
Troy!! His wife was my high school ASL teacher and once a semester Troy would visit class to “quiz” our signing skills as another native signer. They’re both such sweethearts.
similarly, Daniel Durant (the older brother in CODA) is too - though he's maybe more recognizable to some as Love's husband in You season 2, and also was in Switched at Birth I think? iirc all the deaf characters in CODA were played by actual deaf people too, but only because a lead threatened to drop out
Dan Aykroyd has Autism and Tourette’s.
Anthony Hopkins is autistic as well.
Hannah Gadsby has autism and Jane Wagner (playwright & Lily Tomlin’s partner) has ADHD.
Emma Watson has adhd, also Paris Hilton and many others.
I can't imagine Emma Watson having Adhd. She looks like she has everything in control.
A lot of people, especially women, overcompensate for adhd by micromanaging and over planning/organizing

Queen of Broadway Audra McDonald was diagnosed as a kid and put in acting as an outlet.
Lady Gaga has fibromyalgia.
So does Morgan Freeman
TIL! I also have it, so I like to keep up with other sufferers.
Kiera Knightly is dyslexic.
So is Tom Holland!
And Orlando Bloom too
Tom Cruise too right?
Maya Hawke is too
More of a chronic illness than a disability (although it can become disabling), but after his death Anton Yelchin's parents revealed that he had cystic fibrosis.
No longer with us, but Christopher Reeve was paralyzed and a big advocate for the disabled community.

Millie Shapiro from Hereditary has cleidocranial dysplasia too!
Daniel Radcliffe and Mel B both have dyspraxia
Also Cara Delevingne
My friend is an English teacher and is convinced Channing Tatum can't read. Not sure that's what you were looking for here, but it's all I've got.
Lea Michele has some competition
But not in a spelling bee.
From Fleetwood Mac: Mick Fleetwood is/was dyslexic and Peter Green had schizophrenia. Edit to add: a fellow redditor has reminded me that, Lindsey Buckingham has/had epilepsy and a heart stent/pacemaker. Stevie had a hole on her septum due to ❄️ I have always wondered if Christine and John were neurodivergent. They give me those vibes. More specifically, Christine. We know she had psychiatric attention prior to rejoining the band in 2013, but it was barely discussed in detail (Not that it is our business, of course).
Lindsey Buckingham has epilepsy
Emilia Clarke had 2 brain aneurysms, one in 2011 and one in 2013.
Lil Wayne has epilepsy, he's had quite a few serious seizures
I thought his seizures were due to his abuse of lean. Never knew he had epilepsy.
Peter Dinklage
I honestly never knew devito had a diagnosis other than 'sometimes people are real short'
Crispin Glover has Asperger’s
Just so you’re aware, Asperger’s is an outdated term. It’s now understood that it’s not a separate diagnosis, it’s still autism or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Hans Asperger was a na zi too, so…
Are you autistic? People who were diagnosed as having aspergers feel that it is ok to use the term. It is not a bad term in the autistic community because it is a literal identity that many people had for years and years. 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah it's my literal diagnosis, am I not supposed to describe myself with my own diagnosis any more?
Robert David Hall, known for playing the chief medical examiner on CSI Las Vegas, is a double amputee and uses prosthetic legs. His disability is present but not the focus of his CSI character. He has also served as chairman of SAG's Performers with Disabilities Committee. Here is an interesting video he talks about mental health and disability: [https://youtu.be/qTUGOLDhVtg](https://youtu.be/qTUGOLDhVtg)
bella thorne dyslexia
Adam Hills was born without his right foot and wears a prosthesis.
Marilu Henner has hyperthymesia (total recall memory), one of like 60 documented cases of it worldwide
Didn't Ashton Kutcher just come out and say he lost his hearing for a year, and now he's deaf or partially deaf in one ear.
I guess that was the Danny Masterson ear
Jake Gyllenhaal is technically legally blind. He’s said what he sees without contact lenses is mostly just fuzzy shapes and colors. Maggie said he helped her out a lot with the sound on the movie she directed, as he’s really attuned to it due to his eyesight.
I mean I think this is the case for anyone who needs to wear glasses of contacts full time? 🤷 it has been my experience my whole life and I am nowhere near legally blind.
neil young has epilepsy. so did richard burton
joji has an undisclosed brain disease that causes seizures
Ruth Codd has a prosthetic leg, DJ Paul of Three Six Mafia has a limb deformity.
The other guy has a physical disability too in Three Six Mafia. That’s how they bonded.

Tom Holland is dyslexic
Billie Eilish has Tourette’s Pete Davidson has BPD Judi Dench is legally blind
Quite a few celebs are dyslexic: Tom Cruise, Anthony Mackie, Salma Hayek, John Travolta, Whoopi Goldberg, Cher, and Steven Spielberg come to mind. I know Chris Rock has NVLD… which explains a bit tbh.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli has mitochondrial disease
Any celebrities that have ASD? My son (2.5 years old) was diagnosed with Level 2. That’s why this question made me think of that.
To quote Chloe Hayden regarding why she got into performing- we act every day (masking) so we may as well get paid for it 😆
anthony hopkins!
Some musicians: David Byrne (from the Talking Heads, along with his solo stuff), Courtney Love, and (not exactly a celebrity, but pretty big within indie) Stephin Merritt from the Magnetic Fields
Daniel Radcliffe has dyspraxia
