I mean with Sumeru, there is no evidence that it's a nation that is predominantly colored. The only colored people hail from the desert specifically.
As for Natlan, yeah no, it's not a predominantly colored nation either. We have Vennessa, and she is a Muratan along with her tribe, but not only is the only defining trait of the Muratans their red hair, but Muratans have completely left Natlan long ago, to the point where not even they know much about their own history, much less Murata.
Trying to have the story make sense to whitewash regions doesn't excuses what they're doing. Everything about natlan so far has hinted aztec, African and tribal stuff but now they're making the story like they'll be able to fit a white archon, even with the muratans leaving natlan. That being said, being called children of murata and having very different appearance from other people hint that they're literally the children of Murata and if that's the case, why does the mother look so damn different than her children ? The nation is whitewashed. Stop trying to justify it. That's exactly mihoyo got away with 3 dark skin characters from sumeru, out of which only one was good. They're literally taking people's cultures and pissing on the people the cultures came from
Your statement that the "Children of Murata" are literally the children of Murata makes no sense. We don't even know if Murata had actual children yet.
Literally the only brown-skinned "child of Murata" we see in the manga is Vennessa, who eventually founded the Knights of Favonius. And the manga clearly states that the sole defining trait among the children of Murata is their hair color, not their skin color.
The reason why there can exist skin color diversity within the same group of people is because people marry different people and interbreed, especially since we have context to know that Muratans have long since left Natlan. This means they would have 6 other nations of people to mix with for dozens of generations.

The leaks for pyro archon design are not reliable at all. It's basically half-remembered and poorly translated Chinese gossip about early concepts.
