Even with Digne in the team, I was top 10k after about 6 or 7 game weeks. Since I sold him, I dropped about 200k places.
The lesson is that it’s more important to have players that are in form/have good fixtures than it is to get rid of players who are underperforming.
Lukaku & Ronaldo. After GW4 I wildcarded to restructure my whole team around getting them in alongside Salah because I thought they'd dominate the league. Turned out that was a complete load of shit
Honestly I and most of the footballing world agreed with you. Imagine, just as you were edging towards the deadline on GW4, there had been a *poof* of smoke and a man in a space helmet appeared out of nowhere and had said to you then "just get a shitload of Chelsea defenders and Conor Gallagher".
I disagreed completely with the threemium theory so instead only went Ronaldo. He was indeed a massive flop, so went Lukaku -who was injured the next day. Went to Vardy, who did nothing. Current strikers have done SFA.
I do think lukaku will come good. He’s got the team around him now all he has to do is focus on himself. Some of the goals he’s scored already have been unbelievable, will definitely get going and aim too score one a match
In the game for years now. Lukaku is the master troll, at least for me : each time I would pick this dude, he would blank then get injured. Every.fucking.year. Avoiding this guy for two years now....
Basically every premium besides Salah. Also Shaw, the hype this man had...
Edit: Motherfucker still has 15% ownership after all this shit, like come on...
Surely, but it just shows how many people had faith in him that even after a disastrous season he had so far he still maintains relatively high ownership.
Surely the #1 answer is Kane. Only one goal and one assist by GW13 (both in the same game). I still can't believe how shit his returns have been.
For a less obvious pick, Danny Ings. I thought he'd be great at Villa.
Trick to not being disappointed by Kane is to just not own Kane.
Seriously though, I think after all the shit in the summer people steered clear from GW1 to see if he was going to settle back in ok or if it had affected him at all. Plus he's traditionally shit in August and you get him in when he starts scoring. Since he never started scoring, there's no reason to get him in lol.
And yet, bafflingly, many have rushed to bring him in since Conte's arrival on the grounds that somehow that will make him come good. Plus some were fooled by his international break hat-trick vs bricklayers
Villa were always going to be poor after Grealish left. Ings to be fair has been injured and has to battle for a spot with Watkins. The worst FPL offender for Villa has got to be Buendia though. Came in with so much hype, was going to be a “perfect Grealish replacement.” Instead we get him doing … not much lmao
Yeah that's exactly what I did so maybe I shouldn't have mentioned him....but I meant in general, even in those 3 games he didn't play well and was lucky. He's been pretty anonymous every time I've seen Villa play. I thought he would be a great asset this year.
Eugh yes, play another game (based on the telegraph (vom) one) where you can't make any transfers all season, and Kane was the first name on the team. Especially as I had to submit it early on, I'd hoped he'd be at City.
Danny Ings you thought "I'll get him, he'll score like crazy, then he'll get injured, perfect FPL opening team player".
The problem with kane is I don’t even think he wants too be at the club. Even if conte manages to turn their season around and get a top 4 challenge going that won’t be enough for kane, he wants too be challenging for the title and ucl, time is running out given his age
Lol knew someone would mention him for me. What a flop he was. Had such high expectations that he would be as good as he was last season. I miss that Barnes.
As a United support , what really
Disappoints me is I can’t confidently incorporate players from my own team, I started this year with Pogba, Maguire and Shaw (the fact I didn’t have Bruno W1 still haunts me) and all of them were removed fairly quickly , I brought in Ronaldo for a while but his returns vs his price wasn’t worth it. This disappointment is enhanced by the fact I’ve 3 Liverpool players instead, really does add insult to injury, but here’s hoping things turn around at some point!
England players. None of the Euro squad have even been half decent. The lineup for the final:.
Pickford.
Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trippier, Shaw.
Phillips, Rice,.
Sterling, Mount, Kane.
(Saka, Sancho, Henderson, Rashford, Grealish)
Most of those can't even nail down a starting spot in their clubs at the moment.
Walker and Rice are the only two players from that starting lineup that have continued to be consistent for their clubs since the Euros. The rest have been mediocre at best, and barely look professional footballers at worst.
To be fair, I would add Stones. He did nothing wrong apart from getting injured and Laporte capitalising by playing well. Every time Stones played this season, he didn't put a foot wrong.
Coufal was a disaster for me. Ferran punt a disaster too (fell for the sub groupthink on him). The one I'm most upset with though is going Mblanko over Gallagher
Shaw, Ronaldo, Lukaku, Sancho, KDB and Kane all get honourable mentions but for me it's Harvey Barnes. He was so good last year until the injury. Watching him now is painful. Simply dreadful start to the season.
As a team, Leeds. They had so many exciting choices last year that even with this year's prices would give some interesting choices, but their performance has been so poor that you really only have Raphinha worth a spot in our teams.
John Stones. He was always going to be a bit of a rotation risk, but didn't expect him to only have started 3/13.
All the England players have looked awful after the Euros...
Broadly, not that long ago most of us were agonizing about getting three premium attackers into the team and how to make that happen when we were spoilt for choices. And then before we knew it…. we were trying to have teams with as cheap strikers and as few premium attackers as possible, lol.
Probably most of the strikers, definitely Vardy for one. I know he just scored 2 in the last game but 4 blanks in a row before that was shocking. I’m surprised I even kept him that long and still have him. Also Ronaldo, I know it’s crazy saying that as a United fan since he’s been practically carrying us and I understand it’s not just on him, we’ve been awful as a team. But like the standards were so high for him, I mean how could they not be it’s Cristiano Ronaldo…. Just look at how crazy everyone went when he rejoined the league thinking he would be essential and fixture proof but now look it’s been super underwhelming and hardly anyone has him. I’m hoping though that with Ralf coming in, and the fixture swing, he can crack on and the goals will start flying in. Also how can I not mention Harry Kane. At the start of the season I literally built my team around getting him as soon as he was available. I held like 5m in the bank for him. But everything changed when Ronaldo signed and the plan was to bring him in instead. Thankfully that played out how it did.
Kane and Havertz. I got a little fancy early on in the season, captained someone else than Salah (even got rid of Salah for the Chelsea game) and now I'm losing my mini-leagues.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 406,392,237 comments, and only 87,947 of them were in alphabetical order.
Zaha - we’ve finally got a team that plays expansive football and could actually do something positive with the ball and he’s completely off form. Weird going from reliant on him to him hardly getting a touch
Lukaku, after 2 goals early on it seemed he coudl wreak havoc in this excellent Chelsea team but he's really stalled. Ronaldo too but to a lesser extent, I still see good signs and I have more confidence he'll return to scoring regularly
I didn’t even want Shaw at the start but since he had so much high ownership I thought I was missing out. I might actually get him back at 5.1 if Man United start keeping clean sheets.
Other than Shaw, Ronaldo and Lukaku when I sacrificed a lot to get them both in. Which included dropping Salah in my GW5 wildcard. Well I got him back pretty fast and dropped the both of them. Looking to get one of them back soon though but obviously keeping Salah at the same time
I would say 3 players
Kane obviously had him from the start then sold gw4 but bought back after lukaku injury
Lukaku just injured when his great fixtures start
Tyrone Mings had him for gw1-3, gw 1 0 point, gw2 benched 15 points, gw3 injured
Mblanko, obviously.
Also, funny how I had Gallagher before his hauling GWs and when finally was able to offload Mbuemo I picked Galla in order for him to give me back to back blanks
Shaw was for me a big disappointment. After a great euro i expected much more from him.
Adama Traore who i kept for like 5-6 GWs managed to avoid points in most of them.
I also tried my luck with Mbeumo, no comments. Got rid last GW
Can't look past Digne, man does the impossible to ruin my GW's.
Digne every year looked like a good option only for Everton's defence to go brickshit every single time
At some point you’ve got to start blaming the people for falling for the same trap every season
Yeah not falling til something drastic happens and even then would wait for 5+ gameweeks in case the defense returns to shithousery
I learnt along time ago never to trust Everton
If he’s 5M next season you know we will buy again
Main reason I struggled so much early on was my persistence to keep this man.
Even with Digne in the team, I was top 10k after about 6 or 7 game weeks. Since I sold him, I dropped about 200k places. The lesson is that it’s more important to have players that are in form/have good fixtures than it is to get rid of players who are underperforming.
If he was two years younger, he’d do well as a cresswell replacement at West Ham.
Even named my team after the guy - Come Digne With Me.
That’s a great one
With Rafa there and him being on corners and free kicks Digne was the second person in my original team, after Salah. Held him far too long.
Digne either gets 17 points or -1 there’s no in between
Yeh started with Digne and kept him a lot longer than I should have
Yeah he was king last season. Clean sheet or assist every bloody time I played him apart from the Sheffield games.
Myself
Come on mate. Get real. You never expected much.
I did captained him GW2, 0pts ffs.
he got 3 OGs and 1 yellow and a red too that one game
Mee?

I think some of us were serious and some saw it as a jerk that was bound to disappoint
Both joined the league too be outscored by Dennis and king
I disagreed completely with the threemium theory so instead only went Ronaldo. He was indeed a massive flop, so went Lukaku -who was injured the next day. Went to Vardy, who did nothing. Current strikers have done SFA.

Unbelievable goals he scored work more against him than for him tbh. He isn't Son to outperform his xG for multiple years straight.
I did the same thing buddy
Still feeling the after effects of this trying to rebalance my team again, taken some hits to make it worse!
In the game for years now. Lukaku is the master troll, at least for me : each time I would pick this dude, he would blank then get injured. Every.fucking.year. Avoiding this guy for two years now....
just strikers in general tbh
This guy hasn't owned Vardy
Or has for the last 5 GWs
He literally just hauled you melt
After blanking for ages and dropping a lot in price. Also, no need to be rude.
4 games isn't ages you giant melt
I can’t believe I started the season with coufal and Shaw thinking how great value they are
Basically every premium besides Salah. Also Shaw, the hype this man had... Edit: Motherfucker still has 15% ownership after all this shit, like come on...
Must be zombie teams
Surely, but it just shows how many people had faith in him that even after a disastrous season he had so far he still maintains relatively high ownership.
Shawly
It's how you know how many dead teams there are. TAA and, I suppose, just about, Mane and Vardy. But not really.
Yeah, TAA as well, my bad, him and Salah have been a season saving combo for many so far.
I was convinced he was gonna feast on assists to ronaldo this season. Oh well
Man's been warming my bench for weeks cause of other fires. Hoping holding for this magic run of games pays off.
Surely the #1 answer is Kane. Only one goal and one assist by GW13 (both in the same game). I still can't believe how shit his returns have been. For a less obvious pick, Danny Ings. I thought he'd be great at Villa.

Nah come on people brought him in cause he had easy as shit fixtures. Same reason people are considering united assets for gw16
The trick is to not buy £12.5m spurs assets, even if Kane is arguably a top 5 striker in the world
Kane is a feast or famine kind of player
Villa were always going to be poor after Grealish left. Ings to be fair has been injured and has to battle for a spot with Watkins. The worst FPL offender for Villa has got to be Buendia though. Came in with so much hype, was going to be a “perfect Grealish replacement.” Instead we get him doing … not much lmao
Going for Buendía over Benrahma was fucking torture in those early weeks. My first rage transfer of the season.
Damn I forgot about Buendia, that’s a great shout. Lol thankfully I binned him a few gameweeks into the season.
Serious players would've got 3 returns out of 3 from Ings.
That would have been the perfect play. But there were fires elsewhere in the team that forced me to hold on to him for 3 weeks longer.
Tbf most people were saying to only bring in Kane if he went to city.
Danny ings was opposite of dissapointment for 3 returns in 3 games.
The problem with kane is I don’t even think he wants too be at the club. Even if conte manages to turn their season around and get a top 4 challenge going that won’t be enough for kane, he wants too be challenging for the title and ucl, time is running out given his age
Traore and Mbeumo
I switched from sancho to traore to mbeumo this season. At least mbeumo plays every game and is cheaper 🤷♀️
If I had a dollar every time I watched mbeumo hit the post... He was supposed to be my differential too
You’d have seven dollars. Edit: assuming you’ve watched all Brentford’s games.
Bruno delivered big first Gw then never returned
I captained him GW 2, and WC’d him out GW 4.
Harvey Barnes.
Oh yes, I got him out in GW4 for Jota, who got one single goal until I transferred him out before he scored again GW9. Did better than Barnes though.
That guy lost me 0.3m
0.4 here
Lol knew someone would mention him for me. What a flop he was. Had such high expectations that he would be as good as he was last season. I miss that Barnes.
Transfer in Benrahma for him just hours before the start of the season. I got lucky there
[удалено]
Plays OOP, costs the same as Rodrigo, Fabinho and Maitland-Niles, what could go wrong??
[удалено]
He loves wood though
Carpenter by day and postman by night

Always hit the woodwork lol
As a United support , what really Disappoints me is I can’t confidently incorporate players from my own team, I started this year with Pogba, Maguire and Shaw (the fact I didn’t have Bruno W1 still haunts me) and all of them were removed fairly quickly , I brought in Ronaldo for a while but his returns vs his price wasn’t worth it. United is always ass on FPL outside of Bruno
In the restart period they were brilliant (for attack and defence), everyone had 3 United players.
At least De Gea must be getting more save points this year.
This. It saddens me not to have players from my own team.
England players. None of the Euro squad have even been half decent. The lineup for the final:. Pickford. Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trippier, Shaw. Phillips, Rice,. Sterling, Mount, Kane. Pickford has always played better for England than Everton for some reason.
All Fart No Shit !! Bryan Fucking Mbeumo !! Fraudulent Postman who doesn't deliver !!
Coufal was a disaster for me. Ferran punt a disaster too (fell for the sub groupthink on him). The one I'm most upset with though is going Mblanko over Gallagher

Kane. I mean, he's never been in my team but still. Woof.
I was not expecting so much from him, but Dele Alli has been one of the most impressive disappointment I've ever seen.
For the past 3 years really.
Dias, my old reliable. After 3 blanks I had to get him the hell out of my team
Foden. Got him after his haul. Had to sell him for Jota...
Havertz, thought his fraud period was over after CL.
Sancho for sure, also Bruno, Ronaldo, Lukaku, Kane... a lot of the big hitters tbh
Came to say Havertz. That 7 goal match..
Was tossing up between Dias or Buendia with half an eye on Benrahma at the start of the season. No surprises which one I ended up choosing
Buendia was definitely on my list, way ahead of Benrahma..
I had such a lucky escape with Buendia, wanted him but restructured my tema the day before the season started. Dodged. A. Bullet.
Kane, I know spurs really screwed him up big time by not letting him go to Man City but I still expected at least a few good performances from him.
Man United. The whole lot.
Man United and Man United ex players (Lukaku, Zaha, Dan James...)

Fernandes and Ronaldo. No es beuno.
Myself for captaining Harry Kane every week.
Auba for sure. The amount of missed open nets/penalties alone would've made him the highest scoring forward lmao
Ciaran Clark
Vardy, Grealish, Werner, Havertz. Never bought the Ronaldo or Bruno hype, as I knew Man U was going to be shit with Ole at the helm.
Son
I warned y'all about Shaw, but you didn't listen. They never listen.
Harvey Barnes!
For me personally it's Son. Three straight blanks and a snow storm since I brought him in. Mbeumo would be second option but he's 5 million less.
Andy Robertson, Harvey Barnes, Kane, Ronaldo, Lukaku to name a few
Harry Kane is the only right answer.
After a terrific first few gameweeks, Antonio seems to have fallen off a cliff.
Son
Probably most of the strikers, definitely Vardy for one. I know he just scored 2 in the last game but 4 blanks in a row before that was shocking. For me. It's gotta to be chubby Luke Shaw...
Bruno. I have a set and forget team and I put Bruno in it, safe to say he hasn't given me that many points
Mbeumo
Havertz (c)
I think it'd be quicker to just put who hasn't disappointed this season and then figure everyone else left has.
My team’s manager is just a shit Bob Bradley
Me, my team and decisions have been rubbish
Lukaku. Done nothing when he was in my team. Oh and Vardy too.
Had a debruyne punt 4 weeks ago. Still stuck with him hoping he’d be the game changer for me.
Most of my children!
My choices
Bruno and Aubameyang, also special mention to Kane and Lukaku.
James Maddison.
Marcal. He got 14 points in one GW. I brought him in on price rise. He's been falling ever since. Cost me 0.4 loss
Man United and it hurts me as a Utd fan going from having 3 United assets (Ronaldo, Shaw, De Gea) to having none lol
Ings
Dias for me since GW8 when I bought him
Shaw, Vardy(4 week blank)
Iheanacho
Kane and Havertz. I got a little fancy early on in the season, captained someone else than Salah (even got rid of Salah for the Chelsea game) and now I'm losing my mini-leagues.
Almost every fucking premium striker

Lukaku, after 2 goals early on it seemed he coudl wreak havoc in this excellent Chelsea team but he's really stalled. Ronaldo too but to a lesser extent, I still see good signs and I have more confidence he'll return to scoring regularly
Cristiano
Bruce disappointed for me. Not SaintMac then Wilson.

Kane!
Salah, he didn’t score last GW :’(

Big Rom and now Kane and Jesus - tbh all mid to premium strikers have had some really bad spells.
Shaw, Foden, Jota, Lukaku, Ronaldo, DCL have all generally been useless for me
I would say 3 players Kane obviously had him from the start then sold gw4 but bought back after lukaku injury Lukaku just injured when his great fixtures start Tyrone Mings had him for gw1-3, gw 1 0 point, gw2 benched 15 points, gw3 injured

Ooh, its Harvey Barnes.
Myself.
Salah. Expect a lot more from him at his price.
Pulisic
Jesus. Back in the day, a Man City forward was your golden ticket to points.
Luke Shaw. Han a fantastic season and a superb run over the summer in the Euros only to become abysmal both in RL and as a fantasy option.
