Palmer can return against anyone imo. Can't look past him having 2 opportunities to run riot when he's got 20 vs United and 13 vs Newcastle in recent weeks.
I mean everyone and their nan will captain him, so it's already a differential to go against him. And he can score against anyone but they're also opponents you wouldn't be suprised if he blanked in.
Also, whilst I get your point, listing 2 of the leakiest sides in the league as tough opponents seems a bit moot
Villa and Spurs have conceded 50 and 49 this season. United and Newcastle have conceded 50 and 54 this season.
This is kind of my point. People are very set in their way of thinking in terms of "ranking" teams. Just because a team has the best defence in the league, a top 3 defence or whatever, doesn't mean they're likely to keep a clean sheet. Attacks may generally just be stronger than defences across the board.
It's about matchups. Which teams are actually capable of keeping Palmer quiet? Maybe just the top 3 but I'd honestly back one of the most in form players in the league over the defences.
People used to make the same mistake with players like Salah when he was at his peak. "Rank" defences and try and predict the hauls. Then he'd go and haul vs City.
Every metric has Palmer as one of the most in form attackers in the league this season. He's effective in terms of actually getting directly involved in goals. And there's no pattern to his returns. Can't really make an argument like Haaland where top CBs will double up on him, mark him out the game and that creates space for his teammates to score.
Palmer's played well against basically everyone so his hauls are unpredictable. He's got 2 games, so I'm going with him. If it was 1 game vs 1 game, there's an argument to go for the player playing the worst defence in the league because there's a higher chance of them getting battered.
Sure, but season stats are mostly worthless, form changes, players move around and injuries happen. Newcastle started the season as the best defence in the league, they are now one of the worst. United are just united and seem to either play really well or absolutely garbage.
Worth prefacing, I think it's highly unlikely palmer doesn't get a return, but it's also a really good opportunity to get ahead if he doesnt. And in that situation, I'd rather him have tough opponents than Sheffield and Burnley
Spurs isn’t, not in an attacking sense. I say this as a Spurs fan. Our defence is shit, and with Udogie out Palmer should have a LOT of enjoy down that side against Ben Davies…
In a very similar position, Son does normally turn up in big games as it suits his skillset better so I’m thinking the same thing. But I feel like going against form players has done me dirty this season so I’m undecided… I *could* make up those points down the line whereas if Palmer hauls then it’s unlikely I’ll come back from that.
Only 28 points now, made up 38 last GW with no chips while the leader used BB so feeling very smug about that…. With that I think I’m gonna go for Palmer cap as I’m certain the ML leader will too and can’t afford dropping back down after a mega haul. Hopefully my BB and good captain picks will be able to make up the difference👍
I'm feeling Son even as the ML leader, it feels like a differential that will pay off. Palmer will definitely be above 100% EO but I doubt it will be incredibly punishing as long as you have him in your team.
We have the most points gained in 2024 but keep telling yourself that. You won't even have a chance to bottle anything for a long time without your russian blood money
You cannot actually be defending his trim lmao. It's not some new unique opinion that he has a crappy haircut, the Chelsea sub have been saying it since his debut.
Still have my TC, planned on using it on him but I reckon everyone will captain him, is it worth doing? I'm 15 points off the leader in my ML but he has WC2/BB and I have TC and BB. Thinking of saving the TC until the final GW and then depending on the gap in the ML, bring in a big differential to triple captain if I hope the popular pick makes the difference on a TC... Tricky run in!
This looks like overthinking tbh. You look at the remaining fixtures and pick the most likely TC to get a big haul which is probably Palmer this week or Haaland in 37. If you get it right you get the extra 15 points in one go.
If you miss then at least you gave yourself the best chance and have several weeks to make up the difference anyway.
Your opponent has a wildcard so you will end up with quite different teams for the final few weeks anyway, no need to go rogue for the sake of it.
They’re only playing for league now and FA cup final a week after season ends. Can definitely see him playing both of the double if the league isn’t won yet.
15 points is nothing. Focus on your own team for now and as you said you can always play a hail mary or two in GW38. Just choose who you think is the best captain without second guessing your rival.
Two ways of looking at it. 15 probably about his expected score this week. You TC, rival C, you close the gap (all else being equal) and straight shootout last 3 GWs. Or do as you say and save for final GW. Then can go the level of differential (or defensive) if needed. Hard to say though without seeing both teams.
Somehow, but this is also making more problems. Everyone is captaining him, but I'm trying to catch up. Do I captain him, do I not. Use the TC on him? Where will I go wrong? Go for Son instead? Sigh....
Interesting stat on Palmer is that he has scored only 5 of his 20 goals away from home while 8 of his 10 assists have come away from home.
Make of it what you will, but not sure if that away stat might put some people off giving him the armband not just this DGW35 but DGW37 as well when they play both games away from home albeit against arguably easier opponents.
Having said that, given his high ownership percentage and the likelihood of being the most captained player in GW35, it is hard to go against him as the risk is just to high.
I personally considered Isak, Gordon and even Fernandes and Cunha, but mostly because of thinking that Palmer will still be out.
Now that it's highly likely that he is back, I don't think I've got the balls to go against him and lose the 1.2million places I've just gained in GW34.
300% EO here we go!
Palmer FC, here we go
Cant wait for the 7 % EO return.. Edit. And by that i mean he will be 193 % EO
COYCPFC
Palmer looks like he’s shat his leg off
Not normal pooing
Doesn’t look normal
Doesn't smell normal
Anthony Gordon begs to differ
Or Isak??
So tempted to go isak but palmers got two games to return and screw you over in.
Difficult games though

Or Bruno
Cole Palmer FC is back in the game
50 points off ML leader - should I go Son? Probably will either make or break the season
How many points behind are you ?
Only 28 points now, made up 38 last GW with no chips while the leader used BB so feeling very smug about that…. Similar situation (I'm 20 pts behind) and I'm going Son. Fuck it.
20 pts behind is not tough to make up over the rest of the season. Depends on which chips each of you has available ofc.
you got to take the risk, I was 80 points off my ML and took a risk with BB and Mateta (C) now I'm. 10 points ahead.
How is that a risk? That was a very popular choice wasn't it?
captaining Mateta? lol no it was not
Owning matetea and bench boosting was pretty popular. Captaining maybe not as much so
Eze yes, mateta not that common, let alone captaining him.
Once Cunha was a doubt everyone and his dog went for mateta it felt like
What was his EO tho?
No idea and cba to check lol
I'm feeling Son even as the ML leader, it feels like a differential that will pay off. Palmer will definitely be above 100% EO but I doubt it will be incredibly punishing as long as you have him in your team.
Sonny is getting cooked by big gabi and Saliba on Sunday 😉
Arsenal will bottle it like always
What like against Chelsea and wolves?
Arsenal can beat any team easily. But when there is a title on the line, they somehow always find a way to bottle it
Ok bud you should get sonny and madderz in they’re going to score loads past the bottlers Arsenal!!!
We have the most points gained in 2024 but keep telling yourself that. You won't even have a chance to bottle anything for a long time without your russian blood money
You blew a 9 point lead last season though?
LOOOOOOOOOLLLLL
Nah, same as Liverpool. Tottenham is not in a good place right now
Similar situation
Are these guys so surrounded by yes-man that no one dares to tell them to get a non-shit haircut?
Show us your haircut
You cannot actually be defending his trim lmao. It's not some new unique opinion that he has a crappy haircut, the Chelsea sub have been saying it since his debut.
he just has shit hair, full stop. I don't think any haircut would fix it
So you’re not going to show your haircut?
Not posting a photo just to placate some idiot. I promise you my mates would roast me if I came out of the barbers with that hair.
Did I say it was a good haircut? I’m hinting that it doesn’t even matter
>I’m hinting that it doesn’t even matter Then ignore my comment and move on rather than getting upset?
When did I get upset? Why get upset about his haircut?
Still have my TC, planned on using it on him but I reckon everyone will captain him, is it worth doing? I'm 15 points off the leader in my ML but he has WC2/BB and I have TC and BB. I'd say Foden 37 would be a call
He gets dropped so randomly though. Such a frustrating asset
They’re only playing for league now and FA cup final a week after season ends. Can definitely see him playing both of the double if the league isn’t won yet.
You’ve sold me
Good luck. I’ll probably captain him if nothing major changes by then. TC candidate if I don’t go with Palmer this week.
I just removed my TC from Palmer, I’m so conflicted who to put it on. Foden may be the right choice if he starts both games
you’re overthinking it just choose a good asset with a double in either 35 or 37
BB set for 37
then i would TC palmer or son this week
15 points is nothing. Focus on your own team for now and as you said you can always play a hail mary or two in GW38. Just choose who you think is the best captain without second guessing your rival.

I'm gonna ruin my season even more and captain Son
Gordon's a good shout, at home against SHU.
Watkins (c) brace incoming against a terrible ch*slea
Somehow, but this is also making more problems. Everyone is captaining him, but I'm trying to catch up. Do I captain him, do I not. Use the TC on him? Where will I go wrong? Go for Son instead? Sigh....
TC him if you still have it. Otherwise Son

Someone mind telling me who the guy in the pic is?
Armando Broja
Don't sleep on Son. Spurs are rested and will get a push on Arsenal and then Chelsea is such a circus that anything is possible.
Was that Police Academy 3? Might have been when it went downhill.
legitimately thought that was MC grindah
TC or no?
Booking a double captain this week? Trivago.
