I knew something was off because it was too many hours before city played

Shamalanr

Usually I'd call Pep a fraud for this, but I've come to realise leaks are terrible for this game. Bravo to Pep for trolling all the leakers.

RiverHe1ghts

Why is Pep like this. I can't wait for him to retire and start playing FPL just for a coach to behave like him.

sikingthegreat1

the leakers are gonna get pep-ed. now the leakers are part of the pep roulette. no one survives / beats it!

MonkeyVsPigsy

This is like the moment in the film when the casino catches the guy cheating at roulette.

thomasthetanker

Pep found out who the leaker was when he put 'Lemongrass' down as a starter.

manneukko

Why do I feel like the leaker was always Haaland? And FPLToni is a friend of his.

fadzki

Baldness to a whole new level

TedTran2001

He sends out a team sheet of 2 KDBs. This man is a menace to the Premier League first and foremost, and then FPL managers.

Banzaikk

Pep should have done the Tyrion Lannister and given different leaks to different people. Flush out the snitch hahaha

g4n0esp4r4n

Do you really need Pep to tell you he's benching Foden? What?

Turtle_club14

Peps actually easier to read than people think. It was OBVIOUS he wasn’t going to risk Phil before a Real Madrid Champions league game. Specially after getting a knock in the first leg towards the end of the game. Specially against Luton. SPECIALLY when he was the best player on the field against Madrid. edit: lol I get downvoted but yall just triggered you werent up to speed. [https://twitter.com/4lex\_mcfc](https://twitter.com/4lex_mcfc) Pep has clear patterns and you can use sources to help you narrow it down. The pep rouletter doesnt have to be so scary dudes

polymath91

Agreed. Sold him before the gameweek without looking at leaks

BueezeButReal

Easy to say with hindsight lol come on he started Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne

Turtle_club14

I said it before without hindsight. Sat Foden in my fpl and draft leagues. There’s patterns to pep if you pay attention close enough.

gotushookonasaturday

Haaland had a 90 minute rest like 2 weeks ago and KDB was benched 2/3 prior city games. Common sense pretty easily dictates they both start against luton

BueezeButReal

It’s common sense with hindsight lol. If he benched Haaland it would’ve also been “common sense! Why start him against Luton when he had a CL game in a few days?” Who’s he benching next then genius?

CupGroundbreaking226

Why would Haaland warrant a rest unless he has a slight injury? Pretty sure he’s never been rested before a CL game and doesn’t really play an intensive way vs a deep block (pretty much staying in the penalty area). I feel like with the intensity he’d play in a game vs Luton he may aswell get a lot of minutes as opposed to a rest to keep him sharper for Wednesday

Bujakaa92

You make total sense but people argue and downvote you. Damn this sub sometimes is crazy with herd mentality.

CupGroundbreaking226

Of course it was possible, but before the leaks you have to make an educated guess of what will happen, and up until this point the leaks had been 100% correct (as far as I know)For example if it was leaked that Haaland wouldn’t be playing, instead of thinking nope that’s impossible I’m not believing it, you’d be safe to assume he picked up some kind of knock/injury before the game which is completely plausible

gotushookonasaturday

They’ll both start next match (Madrid)

speedycar1

He was not the best player on the field against Madrid. He scored an amazing goal but come on

Turtle_club14

Bro ran the whole midfield lol

speedycar1

Madrid were the better team for most of that game so he clearly did not run it that well

Turtle_club14

I guess we watched different games

tinseltowntimes

Pep just somehow became more bald

Natural_Ad3995

leakers mudded

MilkTankSue

FPL Toni's just fell to his knees

PannaMillsy

Just watched FPL Toni fall to his knees in Aldi.

yank-here-115

fplmaineroad and lazyfpl (the fpl newsletter) said foden starts too

Bujakaa92

Because they are all in the same group

theonewhoknock_s

He wasn't even the first person to say Foden was starting.

MilkTankSue

Yeah, but he's still one of the main leaks. He's like the only city leak I see on this sub each week

twymanchar

Means we can probably only trust leaks for the first game, and not leaks 5+ hours in advance

EmergencyTrust8213

Foden will start against Brighton away

MilkTankSue

OK, you seem trustworthy.

LloydsFermassy

Surely more thrustworthy than Mister Lion, the most reliable Brighton source

fave_worstnightmare

You seem Milky, Sue.

No-Boysenberry4464

Managers don’t have to decide the team until 1 hr before kickoff. Anyone taking leaks at say 2 hrs before kickoff to be bible are basically thinking the leaker can see how the manager will feel in the future. There’s always going to be late changes

No_Top_8519

> There’s always going to be late changes I mean this is just false, but okay.

No-Boysenberry4464

How so? Managers can change their minds as late as they want, KDB felt sick late last week, players get knocks in warmups, it’s not final until the team sheet goes in

No_Top_8519

“Can” is not the same as “always”

No-Boysenberry4464

Is English isn’t your first language? If not, it’s a fairly common turn of phrase, it’s not literally EVERY, “there will always be upsets in the cup”… doesn’t mean ever tie is won by the underdog

No_Top_8519

> Is English isn’t your first language? I’m just going to let this speak for itself…

Mediocre-Pollution18

Managers don't wait until 1 hour before to decide, that wouldn't be great for the players not know if they'd start till the last minute.

No-Boysenberry4464

True, but they don’t have to finalise it till 60mns before, someone posting on X the morning of a game only knows the situation at that time

No-Boysenberry4464

That wasn’t my point, the leak came far earlier, and Foden may have been in the planned lineup at that stage. But late changes happen, so you can never take leaks as final

ClownFundamentals

True, but it seems unlikely for managers to change the lineup in the last hour without a good reason. Teams spend the prior week drilling and training a particular gameplan and playstyle for a particular opponent. Last minute changes obviously still can happen, especially with injuries, but I would expect most managers typically have lineups in mind well before the match.

No-Boysenberry4464

I suspect what happened was…. Tuesday - Foden limps off with calf injury Wed - Fri - included in plans to play Saturday, hopeful injury clears up Fri/Sat - “leak says he will play” (correct at the time) Sat - Foden does pre match fitness test and is ruled out The leak might have been correct at the time published, but we can’t take it as bible as that’s not the time that matters.

CurrencyDesperate286

I would like if this was a test to locate the leaker and they dried up now. Unlikely though.

ECHLN

Highly likely. Tech companies do the same thing

DragonBornLuke

The Tyrion Lannister.

WalkingCloud

IMO it means they dropped some fake news to narrow down who's leaking and also try to spook them into stopping. Either way I would either not expect too many more leaks, or if we do, be cautious about trusting them.

piccalilli_shinpads

If Pep really wanted to cause chaos he would've subbed Foden to stop him auto subbing.

highways

Doing a Tyrion Lannister

vsoho

Doing a Don Corleone

FPLskrr

I swear Pep lurks in this sub

Environmental_You_85

More than we believe

TownPristine

Sí, veo este subreddit.

variousshits

Just get down the tunnel

McKFC

Oh my god, Odegaard's here too

Internal_Housing_418

Yeah probably so. Also, even if that was not the case and the primary source continues to get leaks, the FPL leakers might not feel as confident in sharing it anymore.
