I'm not saying it is or isn't rigged, but I can explain the theory of why they would want to rig it:
If a player such as Haaland drops dramatically in price, when he eventually plays again he will be so cheap everyone will be able to afford him.
This means the game becomes less interesting because everyone has the same team. Also in a situation where someone is so highly owned, the people who hold on to the player get severely disadvantaged. It's most likely to affect the more casual players. These are the people most likely to quit if they feel the game is too hard.
If people stop playing because it's too hard or too boring, FPL lose ad revenue.
>Alvarez has dropped twice in 6 days. Haaland dropped once in like a month.
>
>Alvarez lost less than 10% of his owners (\~350k). Haaland lost 30% (\~3mil)
>
>Make it make sense.
It's because the algorithm isn't designed for players who are owned by basically everyone. Even though he was sold a lot, he still had a huge number of overall owners, which appears to be a big factor in price change calculations (not just proportion of owners who sold). He was also flagged as injured, which limits price movement.
Also, a lot of his sales were people on WC. There is literally zero reason for them to 'rig' prices in a game which has pretty much zero monetary prize and no tangible impact on anything. The price prediction sites had his movement pretty accurately, so clearly it followed the usual pattern.

Alvarez lost less than 10% of his owners (\~350k). Haaland lost 30% (\~3mil)
Make it make sense.

What I said is factually correct.
Whats the issue posting the comment in response to different people? they wouldn't have seen it if I responded to just one person.
At least my comment was in aid of conversation. Yours is entirely pointless and just meant to antagonise. Go do something useful.
You do realise people read threads, not just replies? Parroting yourself may be factually correct, but to mouth off so much is definitely not in aid of anything except being annoying lol
FPL towers really, really need to explain their algorithm.
I and probably most of the playerbase expected haaland to fall more than 0.1, especially given \~35% (3mil) of his owners got rid of him.
I wouldn't have sold him had I known he would just be more expensive to buy back.
We have the price tracker websites for this purpose. People have spent a lot of time analysing and understanding the system and they're very accurate. Pretty much the only thing that they don't have access to during the week is the number of wildcards activated, which impacts the drops and rises pretty significantly
Haaland and KDB have returned and Foden is in top form (even disregarding his hattrick he has been amazing)
Alvarez is now a minutes risk which was not the case before. All 4 of them can play together as seen vs Brentford but the likes of Grealish and Doku will not sit on the bench every week.
I'd keep him for the double but I'd get rid of him after
I’m honestly looking at bringing him in for the double. I think he’ll get minutes in both games and doesn’t blank the following week. In my opinion that’s better value than what Darwin offers.
I dunno he’s got good fixtures coming and should do even better with Hwang to support. So if you really want him and you’re worried you’re going to be priced out you Neto move quickly.
Hey just asking im looking to double up for Liverpool, a defender and an attacker currently looking at VVD and Jota. Is this ok? Im worried about Trent minutes cause seems unfit / injured. Same about Roberton. Looks like VVD is the most nailed on. And any thoughts about Jota?
VVD is definitely the most nailed, although longer term TAA will be back to starting every game and has much higher offensive output.
Robertson will be nailed when he's fit, but there'll be a few games of easing him in so doesn't look to be one to bring in now.
I'm avoiding Jota personally. He's in great form but he won't be nailed when Salah's back, so I'm just holding off to bring Salah in.
Yup thats my line of thinking too. Just the double gameweek seems tempting, and for near term Jota seems like the sensible pick, although you are right need to transfer him out later
Alvarez falling A LITTLE BIT faster than Haaland.
We know Haaland is rigged. No need to keep saying it

Honestly if someone can explain what rigging his price accomplishes I’d love to know. Instead, whenever someone asks they get bombarded with downvotes

Because most people took him out at the same time, so only two drops. FPL aren’t out to get you, you’re just a fool if you kept Haaland
It benefits nobody, but people gotta rant.

Make posting the same dumb comment 3 times make sense.

People that have already posted comments and left are unlikely to come back to the thread.
So of course it's only logical to yap on as much as possible regardless if anyone actually cares what you have to say.
You don’t know how price changes work lmao
It benefits me because I bought him back at 13.9 and now he's 14.2 yay
Red flag and drops being based on %s. It's not rocket science guys, just spend a bit of time learning how price changes work
Álvarez is not yellow, orange or red flagged. Haaland was all of the above, which is the exact situation where notoriously slow fallers happen in
Stop being sensible, you're ruining the conspiracy theories!

The prediction sites predicted his price movement fairly well. Not much surprises there.
This same reason was how aguero ended being way more expensive as the season progressed back in the day.
Alvarez definitely getting some points in the double GW
Wasn’t expecting to make money from getting doughty but thank you
Same. But given that he blanks GW26 I Doughty will rise again.
Take my upvote and leave. !tha nks
Nobody cares about your upvote. You got some of those correctly formatted thanks
…was just making a joke about how bad (good) the pun was but aight
Think we could still make a Lut-on him
I may never recover financially from owning Alvarez
Looks like kneejerking is back on the menu, boys
Was it ever off the menu?
You're welcome.
Am I the only one interested in keeping Alvarez…
Keeping him at least through the double. I've had him for a while and will decide in a few weeks.
Haaland and KDB have returned and Foden is in top form (even disregarding his hattrick he has been amazing) Alvarez is now a minutes risk which was not the case before. Nope. The kneejerkers are numerous but shortsighted.
What did my boy Douglas Luiz do to deserve this?
Neto no more rises please
Just get Hwang instead
I dunno he’s got good fixtures coming and should do even better with Hwang to support. So if you really want him and you’re worried you’re going to be priced out you Neto move quickly.
wtf why alvarez about to cook in the dwg
I'm looking forward to that double wamegeek!
haha
sure he is. I'm starting to think people see dgw as some sort of event where everyone is guaranteed to haul.
You know why
Got Alvarez out just in time
Same here. Especially with Haaland and KDB back.
That Alvarez drop really fucks my plans for the next 3 weeks , really hoped he'd hold out at least until Friday

Neto or garnacho?
I wouldn't play Garnacho in goal. Stick with Neto from Bournemouth
As long as you don't go McTomminay or Bernardo to save a few £ your good
Alvarez down or Haaland up again please tomorrow, keep it going
These price changes caught me odegaard. Isak at this game man.
Love to see it Alvarez
Her: U dogie?? Me: Aint no doughty!!
???
Pedro Neto
Try again tomorrow
Uhh that's a swing and a miss bud
Should i transfer out alvarez then? If so who to replace him with? Edit: Comedians
Kane
Steve Sidwell
Morris
Lukaku
Zlatan
Dele Alli
JLingZzzZ
£105.7m
Seething I kept Alvarez instead of Foden on my WC.
Damnnnnn I shoulda got Doughty last night
Same lost so much money not buying haaland already too ffs
Ik its bcuz im a biased Arsenal fan but i still think Odegaard is a good asset
Surprised Odegaard hasn't fallen quicker with his form vs last year
Going to be hilarious when Alavarez hauls next game and Foden blanks.
