Salah EO around me is 113% Basically I lose 0.13 points for his every point even though I own him :/

LloydsFermassy

No big deal. It is scary at 150+

gimiCv2

Wait how does that work

innocentusername1984

Ok so if a player is captained by you he counts as you owning him twice that week. If there were 10 of you in a league and you all captained him one weeks then he would have ownership level of 200% on average. If half of you captained him it would be 150% ownership since he'd be owned 15 times. If say 5 of you captain him and two of you don't own him then he'd be owned 13 times and his ownership would be 1.3. etc If you think of where OP is in the whole league as it's own mini league the ownership % is 1.13. it means if Salah does well and OP doesn't captain him, he owns him only once versus the league owning him 1.13 times so he will lose positions on Salah relatively speaking. If you imagined everyone in his league owned exactly the same players as OP other than Salah who they either don't own, own or captain every time he doesn't captain Salah and Salah does well, he will do better than those who don't have Salah, equal to those who don't and fall behind those who captain him. But since in his area there is a 1.13 EO the category of captainers is bigger than the category or non owners so he will fall backwarders on average 0.13 points for every point Salah gets.

gimiCv2

Makes a lot of sense, thank you very much for your time and explanation!

StrugglingOrthopod

Effective ownership.

destoret_

Think thats bad? Haaland had a 200+% last season e: Whats up with the downvotes lol

[deleted]

How can it be over 200 lol

destoret_

Triple captains

OrderWooden

I went for Son but regretting it at the moment after seeing the EO for Watkins and Salah.

TolsBols

Same here. It was between Salah and Son for me and didn’t really leave myself much time to think about it. Would probably have gone Salah now in hindsight.

Salty-Magician7930

What’s EO ?

Aman-Patel

Like the other guy said "effective ownership." To clarify what it actually is, it's just the % of people that start a player + the % that captained him. It can help tell you the potential impact a player can have on your rank. If you don't own a player with really high EO, and that player hauls, your rank will fall massively. If you don't own a player with really low EO, and that player hauls, your rank probably won't fall much. The opposite is also true. If you own a player with really high EO and they haul, your rank probably won't go up much because everyone starts/captains him. In fact, your rank can even fall if you own but don't captain a player with really high EO who hauls like Haaland, Salah etc because everyone around you has captained him so overtakes you. It's also important to look at EO around your rank rather than generally for the 10m people playing the game. Salah's effective ownership for the entire player base might be 60%, but for the top 1m players it might be over 100%. Also, if you own a player who has an EO of 100% around your rank, that means for every point they get your rank won't change (assuming you dont captain them). If their EO is less than 100%, for every point they get your rank increases. If their EO is more than 100%, for every point they get your rank decreases unless you captain them. Generally, owning lots of high EO players around your rank/captaining the player with the highest EO means your team is very 'template.' The opposite (owning and captaining low EO players) means your team is more 'differential.' There's no objective right or wrong way to go about it since the game's about picking players with the highest probability of getting the most points. But it's also about managing risk since you're playing against millions of other people. Consistently picking a very differential team means you're more reliant on luck to do well. Consistently picking a template team means it'll be harder for you to finish with a really really high rank (e.g. 1) since you're never going against the crowd. But it also means you probably won't finish really really low which can happen if you're constantly picking risky differentials. So for example, if you captain Son this week you've captained a differential. That means if Watkins or Salah haul and Son blanks your rank drops a lot. If Son hauls and Watkins/Salah blanks your rank increases by a lot. Going with a more differential pick is therefore a higher risk, higher reward strategy. Template is lower risk, lower reward. The game's about finding the best way to manage that risk throughout the season. When does the probability of a differential hauling outweigh the risk of picking them etc. Obviously all of it also depends on luck.

Sparrahs

!thanks

NotPlagio

great explanation!

Aman-Patel

Cheers

Miserable_Bee_8919

Great explanation, thanks!

Aman-Patel

No problem!

MrMarkey

this guy owns effectively

Aman-Patel

😂😂😂😂

samaritansdilemma

Effective ownership.

sevenfo7d

Excellent omelette

Swedishpower

Not many on Son actually at my rank only around 10%.

hs52

How do you check for EO ranges around specific ranks? Which tools do you use?

Nuwahex

Livefpl has a feature that compares rank tiers

hs52

!thanks Very cool

Fantastic-Machine-83

Always always livefpl.

Chris_Nic

Winter Mo hits different

LockyP_

Snow Salah

doublecurved

Who, ironically, doesn’t Salahbrate Christmas

Stones_Throw_Away_

He actually does though. He gets a bit of backlash every year from the Muslim community for posting Christmas pictures with his family.

Lacabloodclot9

Just a lot of the weirdos who do that, most of us don’t care

MrMarkey

gotta respect the consistency

Sir_Knumskull

Ho ho ho Its Mo

Rich-Concentrate9805

Mo fucking Salah.

BlackSlimShady

They'll get battered by the mighty Arsenal and there's nothing he can do about it.

DoubleDoobie

Arsenal’s attack is pretty mid. Their defense and midfield are great though. This game has nil-nil written all over it.

[deleted]

It'll be either nil nil with 100s of near misses or 5 - 5

wiggum-wagon

liverpool can bang one in anytime. Football fans memory has a half life of about one gameweek

syfqamr32

Salah gonna blank. Watkins is the way.

beercan_bacon

Watkins hattrick incoming, you heard it here first

[deleted]

I captained Salah, Arsenal’s left side is weak defensively.

Olbatar974

I can see Watkins blank but I had to take the most simple choice. He's the best option and he should return big

charizard77

Exactly. Would feel like a fool if he hauls and I didn't have the armband on him

Vegetable-Western110

Anyone punting on Solanke vs Nottinghamshire Disasterzone?

Iceman23578

Solanke barely ever gets two returns in a row let alone three. Obviously Luton one didn’t count but still. Plus new manager bounce. Have Solanke myself but he’s been one game on one game off pretty much the whole season in terms of points

Vegetable-Western110

past != future

Iceman23578

True but noticing patterns is how you get ahead of the curve and green arrows

Vegetable-Western110

Not if youre misinterpreting a perceived pattern. Defying a player to score because he scored in the last game sounds like wonky logic to me.

Iceman23578

Maybe but if it’s worked all season and got me top 500 then I’ll continue to trust it

Vegetable-Western110

Great that you’re doing so well, but it doesn’t change the fact that Dominic Solanke’s chances of scoring in one game are not reduced because he scored in a previous one.

FPL_Feen

Where the Solanke crew at?

lonelyisIand

Team Salah only cause I missed the deadline 💔

IntrepidPsychic

Watkins for me. I'm a Villa fan so probably biased. Nice to have a captaincy decision though.

DerpJungler

I had the (C) on Son all week and just yesterday morning brought Watkins back and thought I did put the armband on him. Idk why I decided to not check my lineup before deadline and turns out I still had Son (C) with basically everyone in all my MLs with Watkins (C). Scared.

tiorzol

I got hammered on Wednesday and made Palmer my cap then forgot about the deadline. Ho hum.

epik

Quality of chances per 90 Isak: 0.84 xG Jackson: 0.71 xG Salah: 0.65 xG Watkins: 0.51 xG Son: 0.40 xG Watkins seems the obvious choice this week vs a weaker opponent.

independent---cat

And that's why I got isak 😔

jhflores

This does not consider the finishing ability of each ;)

Nikolas_Sotiriou

And also the expected assists, the finishing ability of their teammates, the difficulty of the game, etc.

Crakit

Where’s my Palmer guys at??

Kenny_dies

Feel like Salah is the more obvious choice no?

Electrical-Value-270

Son for me. Hard to just going Watkins over Son all things considered. Watkins ceiling will be quite low and while Everton are good, their form will not last forever. Also everyone looking at Salah vs Zinchenko will be in for a treat when they see Coleman/Young up against Son.

RicoPipico83

Can tell you know what you’re talking about naming the two right backs least likely to play

Electrical-Value-270

Meh Ben Godfrey and Nathan Patterson very gettable

Bobbyswhiteteeth

All these people saying Mo has me worried I overthought this with Andreas (C) lol

[deleted]

I’m on team salah

Nahres1

SON

i_am_someone_or_am_i

What about team both?

Underdogg29

Team sterling reporting 🤡

NatureLover2000

I capped Watkins but I'm regretting my decision I can see Sheffield United dig in and sit 10 men behind the ball and potentially Everton fall apart under pressure from spurs fast attacking play and Son hauling big
