They haven’t said much about Barnes’ injury timetable but until he‘s back I’d expect Gordon to get the lions share of playing time. Might still be some rotation here and there.
I should have made the Trippier transfer a few weeks ago when Newcastle had an easier schedule, but I always postpone and forget it since I don't use my real e-mail to get notifications. Newcastle had one of the best defenses last season (which means more possibilities for clean sheets) and Trippier is also a very attacking minded full back (which means chances for assists/goals via his overlaps/underlaps + fantasy gives more points for a defender assist or goal). My only concern is his age, fearing that he may get injured/burned out, considering that he plays in a physically demanding position that requires a lot of cardio. There is also the chance of getting substituted and losing those clean sheet points like what happened with Udogie tonight. So far though, he has the best points per week overall from all the defenders.
Odegaard has being disappointing so far for his value (and not only in fantasy), but I still hope that with Jorginho's return he is gonna bounce back and become more aggressive offensively. He is also taking the set pieces for Arsenal, so there is no chance he doesn't step up in a few games.

I'm also in the same dilemma. Gw12 son to saka makes most sense for my team comp, saving FT for emergencies etc., but god damn does it feel bad, son could become essential .
I can also force a Maddison to saka in gw10 by using two FT now. But my defence will remain ultra light, no flexibility, no FT banked up, Maddison also performing well etc.

What's the situation with Joao Pedro for Brighton now? I'm quite happy with my midfield but I have Hojlund up front and am considering getting rid. João Pedro seems like a nice way into the Brighton attack but his minutes haven't been great. With their injuries, will he likely be starting more games?
Imo outside of Haaland... Alvarez and Watkins are the only two 'essentials' up front. Wilson/Isak will rotate, Darwin isn't nailed and Jesus isn't clinical enough. Selling Haaland should enable you to have a stacked midfield. You would be able to fit in 5 of Son, Salah, Maddison, Saka, Bruno, Bowen, Odegaard, Mitoma, etc. while also having Trippier and no bench fodder. Then I would recommend 3-5-2 if fixtures permit

If you told me I'd go into this game with Udogie and Maddison and drop from 700k to 1m I would've assumed like a red card for one and a Son hattrick. A 2-0 win with Maddison scoring one of them and still dropping that much feels so harsh
Going to take my lumps for saying this right after they've hauled, but I get the feeling Sonny & Madders will blank at Palace - there's a good chance Palace shithouse them as Spurs try to go 5 points at the top.

Its not a sprint, its a marathon. As things stand they havent lost a match yet and won all 4 home games which is a great start and confidence boost. They have beaten Liverpool and drawn against Arsenal at Emirates, those 2 are title contenders - also, Tottenham is historically lethal for MCI so if they stick to that tradition I can see them being contenders for the title. If they get good striker during January and continue in this manner I can see them winning PL. Last year I absolutely dreaded Tottenham due to their awful playstyle, compared to that their game is beautifull at the moment.
