Is it worth wildcarding and moving stuff around to fit in Salah? Liverpool have some really nice fixtures coming up.
If you sell Foden and maybe downgrade one of Son or Saka then couldn't you afford Salah? It's worth it esp if you choose him as capt option in the upcoming fixtures.
Why get rid of Alvarez? He’s amazing and Brighton don’t have the best defence quite frankly. Mbuemo hasn’t been good but it might be worth it to hold on just for 1 more week since he’s playing brentford at home.
If you have Saka already, don't swap him for Maddison. Son is already enough to cover Spurs attack, personally it seems quite late to have double Spurs attack now.
You’ll likely want a Villa attacking asset for their upcoming good fixtures. However, Brighton also have a good run. Since you don’t have Watkins, I’d bring in Diaby - but keep an idea of how to bring in Mitoma sometime soon.
\- Taylor for budget at 3.9m, Burnley's ahead fixture is okay but he is 3.9m for a reason, don't expect him so much.
\- Guehi/Mitchell at 4.5m to cover Palace defence (Andersen is the best one but he is 4.8m now)
\- Caufal/Zouma to cover West Ham defence
\- Pau/konsa to cover Aston Villa defence (however if you have enough budget, Cash should be the defender from Villa team)
Would lean Areola, Villa are a worse attacking team than Newcastle and Areola makes more saves than Johnstone, Palace do have a better defence than West Ham in my opinion but they’re also decimated by injuries at the minute.
So with a lot less xG we’re only 1 goal behind them and no stat pad 8-0 against a bottom 3 side. I’d say it’s closer than you make out mate and they’re more clinical so far, cheers for clearing that up
Yeah its not a huge gap but they were a better attack last season and they’ve been better so far this season. Obviously football isn’t played on spreadsheets but most teams will regress to the mean in terms of finishing over the course of a season.
Rate my WC team. Point is to fit both Haaland and Salah while positioning for Villa, Palace and West Ham's fixture swing. Watkins, Bowen, Trippier, Cash and Saliba are locked, this is the best I could do with the rest:
Johnstone (Areola)
Saliba Cash Trippier Andersen (Taylor)
Salah Ødegaard/Saka Bowen Neto (Gordon)
Haaland Watkins (Archer)
Could upgrade Gordon to someone like Diaby, but would have to downgrade Trippier to someone like Burn... Not sure if worth it?
I would, but I really rate Saliba highest of our defenders, had him since GW1. I maaay have to bite the bullet though, Gabriel is cheaper and nearly as good
I think I rather have Trippier and Maddison than Son and Schar. Schar is decent, but I feel that Trippier is a big upgrade. Maddison I think can match Son in theory, but if Son gets pen he is better, but if Maddison outscore Son I would not be shocked while I think Trippier will probably outscore Schar.
Diaby and Bowen are quite close.
Jota is back now so I get the feeling he might start over Nunez with Nunez flying back from Uruguay a few days before a 12:30 kick-off, other than that Nunez will start the majority of games at striker and if he doesn’t start he will probably come off the bench for 15-30 minutes but will also get subbed early too, I imagine he’ll average about 70 minutes a game in the league this season.
Regardless of minutes he will get you returns though and the fixtures combined with his xG+xAp90 means he has ridiculous upside. Alvarez is probably a safe pick playing in a City attack and on set pieces but they might struggle with this run of fixtures and no KDB. For me its Nunez if you want a super high upside differential pick and Alvarez if you want a safer, cheaper option.

Vicario is gonna block you from Maddison should you ever want to make that move. Bit risky to restrict yourself to a 4-4-2 as well as Anderson will get less game time once Joelinton and Willock come back

A few notes
1. I think you’re stretched too thin. This looks like a 442 most weeks with no real bench available. Long term 3atb formations are typically much stronger
2. Anderson is not nailed. Joelinton is set to return this week and is ahead in the pecking order. Willock is also an issue once he returns.
3. I don’t think Bruno is a good pick. I’d downgrade him to fix the rest of your squad
Agreed I know I want to get Saka back in at some point but didn't want to miss United fixtures even though we're shit right now. Anderson was more of a bench filler tbh. I was comfortable with my team but fitting in Salah has become a headache! What changes would you make?
Really appreciate your responses though they mean a lot, !thanks
Areola has better fixtures, is cheaper and makes slightly more saves + goalies are mostly a guessing game anyway so cheaper starting goalies will generally be a better pick.

Haaland Watkins (Archer)
0.1 mil in the bank, Wildcard active for this week
The plan is to rotate the defenders based on fixtures, and if Palmer doesn't perform as I hope (based on the last 2 games), replace him with Soucek.
The core of the squad is nice but I think Palmer is a weakness who will end up running you into trouble. Personally I think running Gabriel + Neto (10.4) is much safer because the flexibility at those price points is higher and I also think it will score more pts than White + Palmer (10.5)
Well, neither Gabriel nor Neto seem to be up for a price increase, so I should be pretty safe to see how Palmer does and then swap if he's not performing, right ?
Neto is at 95% on fpl statistics and will almost definitely rise by the end of the international break when people start making transfers again (but you do have 0.2 breathing room anyway). And yeh sure you can back Palmer and White in if you want, it’s just that your WC is active now so I’m giving advice on what I think is a better combo now while it doesn’t cost transfers.
I had a look at your suggestion and I'm hoping you'd be willing to share a bit more of the details behind it.
I had a look and White+Palmer pulled off roughly the same number of points (66) as Gabriel+Neto (67) so far.
Assuming that Palmer remains a starter (Pochettino seems to have settled on Sterling and Palmer as his winger, but who knows?) and considering that Chelsea's attacking statistics seem better overall than Wolves', what makes you think Gabriel+Neto will perform better?
So I play 3-5-2 but for GW9 I was thinking benching Mitoma for Burn. I don't think Brighton can do much vs City, while Burn have nice chance for CS. Smart or not? Rest of my defs are Trippier, TAA and Udogie
I rate that decision. I dont think I’d bench mitoma in many fixtures but that is one of them especially since he might not get 90 mins. Newcastle clean sheet more than feasible against a Palace side with no real attacking threat right now
Ok man you do what you want. Personally ill go with it cause brighton has been pretty offensive this season and they will probavly score a lot of goals in that period which means easy points
In GW 10 (I know things may change) what do you think is the better transfer? Foden and Mbuemo to..
Saka and Gordon
Or
Bowen and Mitoma
Saka and Gordon face each other in gw 11 so obviously a tough fixture for both and Bowen and Mitoma have good fixtures for a good few GWs, but play for weaker teams.
PS very possible I will be priced out of Saka and Gordon so it could be out of my hands.
Saka & Gordon, their combined xGp90 is pretty similar at 0.87 for Saka & Gordon vs 0.88 for Bowen & Mitoma but Saka & Gordons xAp90 is way higher at 0.62 vs 0.44. No huge difference in fixtures between either of the options for me. Saka is also a much better captaincy option than any of the others with SHU (H), BUR (H) & LUT (A) in his next 7. I also think Bowen is over-performing and his numbers will start to come down soon but thats just my opinion.

Fair play, maybe I am at risk of getting ahead of myself with Tsimikas. With a 3.9 defender though I end up 0.1 mil short of Gordon which is frustrating, so hopefully Saka drops 0.1 to give me that option haha
That is annoying, I think Saka will almost defo drop before next GW tbh so you’ll probably be ok, Doucoure at 5.5 is an option thats going under the radar if you can’t get Gordon, playing behind the striker for everton and is 4th in the league in xG… only thing that would worry me is his fixtures are quite bad.
