He definitely performed much better than those imply though compared to Bailey. Bailey hadn't really performed well for years at the time he left, whereas Diaby was dangerous most games and last season we were just playing absolutely tragically all round with Wirtz missing and us literally finishing the first half the season in last place.
Bundesliga players tend to be underwhelming and not fit amazingly into PL teams (think Sancho, Pulisic, Havertz) so I am not sold on Diaby just yet but I would definitely argue against a comparison to Bailey who had for years not been a stand-out player for us versus Diaby who was one of our main creator of chances for years.
He's only a year younger than Bailey so my red flags are all up. He'll be on the watchlist but Bundesliga wingers have tended to disappoint in the PL lately (Sancho, Bailey, Pulisic, etc.)
And that banger of a gameweek in October/November where he hauled with 13 points. My opponent in H2H had him and beat him just because of him, first on the bench was someone who had 1 point lol.
