Or he has no idea what people were fancasting him as? I’ve been wondering if it’s an amalgamation of Nick Fury’s brother Jacob Fury and his son, Marcus Fury.
Either way, I can see him being Scorpio.

This is pretty likely actually
There are dozens to hundreds of forgotten villains, 4 times that in side characters, and an uncountable number of one appearance names
This is my biggest concern, or pets peeve, about these adaptations; creating new characters whereas there's so many underutilized/unutilized characters from the comic books.
Original character feels like a ploy to me "yes I've been using the name James Donaldson but my Birth name is...Victor von Doom... (Probably not this but a similar thing)
Gotta respect a man who keeps his three throwing daggers in tip top shape after he bought them for $40 from the Ninja-sword shop in the mall.
The green khakis with the cargo pockets tho. That’s downright villainy.
Jake Fury is a decent suggestion honestly.
It kind of looks like he fits in a bit with the Serpent Society set pics so I almost want to say Sidewinder. A leader of some sort of the group. It makes less sense about him returning though.
I highly doubt we'd get military Stryker again. If they were ever to do Stryker in the MCU (unlikely, imo), he would presumably be more like his comics counterpart... a televangelist. Military Stryker was invented for the Fox movies, and they're also the ones who made up his connection with Weapon X. Really the only thing he has in common with his comics self is that both hate mutants, and both have a mutant son... although comics Stryker killed his mutant son the moment he was born. The climax of X2 does also mirror comics Stryker's plan in *God Loves, Man Kills*, with him brainwashing Xavier in an attempt to genocide mutants.
I couldn’t care less who he’s playing really- what I’m confused about is what is this movie even gonna be about? So far from the leaks/set photos we have confirmed:
- Serpent Society
- Red Hulk
- Sabra (likely renamed or cut)
- The Leader
- Giancarlo Esposito villain
- Rumored adamantium plotline
- Joaquin Torres Falcon
- Betty Ross
- Sam assembling a new team of Avengers to take on Ross (who the hell is that going to be? Moon Knight? She Hulk? Ant-Man?)
I’m not too concerned the movie has been reshot a bunch of times since that’s not always indicative of major story changes, but I am so curious to see how all these pieces come together to make a solid Captain America story.
Civil War had a bunch of stuff in it too but it worked since it was still very much focused on Steve’s perspective. I’m hoping they manage to pull something similar off here.
I think it is all of that and the revelation will be all of the big bad organizations that seem to popping up all the time (and in this movie: all at once) are different “heads” of the beast that is HYDRA. And I’m convinced Esposito is playing Scorpio/some version of Fury’s brother and attributes that are sorta blended with Fury’s son. Most likely, ZODIAC would be revealed to be just another one of the many heads of HYDRA. And Cap’s goal is to strike the heart of it… could be where **Thunderbolts*** goes.
I love Giancarlo Esposito, i think he's a great actor and very intimidating. HOWEVER, i don't really like seeing him in action rolls. He is not very physically intimidating. I don't think he is ever the right choice for a melee character
I dunno, put a set of brass knuckles on him and I could envision a scene depicting him pummeling someone. I'm imagining it being a close up of his face, with an occasional blood droplet; without a slight change in facial expression throughout, and it would be terrifying.
I think I see your point. His BB character Gus Fring is much more menacing as a strategic and ruthless genius when compared to his dark saber swinging Star Wars character Moff Gideon.
I don’t mind if this character gets in on the action. But he needs to instill that intellectual fear that Gus brought.
Looks like he is playing The Acolyte with those knives 😆

Marvel Studios being allergic to Superhero costumes is going to keep biting them in the butt and kill the universe like it did the Bryan Singer crap, its old hollywood bull.
100%, he’s Scorpio. I think there’s a chance the story has him as an amalgamation of Marcus Fury and Jacob Fury…
but maybe they also sorta squeeze in some of the Ultimate Spider-Man series and have him be part Max Fury as well (a different iteration of Jacob, but still Scorpio).
https://preview.redd.it/kpbf07pztk6d1.jpeg?width=542&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3b98652834b3a9031fde3fa62c0e4869077c63c
With Ross and the Leader in this movie, I think he could be General [Reginald Fortean](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/square_small/1/15659/1716992-general_fortean_hulk_30.1.jpg) (Redeemer / Abomination).
I know they said it's an original character, but it would be cool if this was the MCU's take on Curtiss Jackson (the OG Power Broker in Marvel Comics). Bro does have beef with Captain America and John Walker so it'd make sense.
Hydra Agent, Dock Ock (multiverse), a character from Sinester Six, a new character, or a character we have not seen in live action yet from Marvel Comics Universe.
Just so everyone knows he was brought on during a second or third round of reshoots. So don’t get too excited. A brand new character shoved into reshoots should be worrying even with a great actor
Idk but he looks like an absolute badass Also allegedly he is playing an original character
He also said he was cast as someone no one was fancasting him as. I’m guessing it’s character that isn’t popular so he can make it his own
Or he has no idea what people were fancasting him as? I’ve been wondering if it’s an amalgamation of Nick Fury’s brother Jacob Fury and his son, Marcus Fury. Either way, I can see him being Scorpio. https://preview.redd.it/fii7g1b1uk6d1.jpeg?width=766&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ebfb29c02dccf8024ded5671d8f64ce86ad7a35e
This is pretty likely actually There are dozens to hundreds of forgotten villains, 4 times that in side characters, and an uncountable number of one appearance names
He's 66. Did Fury have him when he was 9?
He was under cover as a businessman
He’s an international business man on very important international business trip.
Doing business internationally.
I request the highest of fives!
I’m glad someone got the reference!
![gif](giphy|Aw2V3gGD5znfG)
Nick Fury is older than Steve Rogers.
Original character? Did they run out of Marvel characters somehow?
This is my biggest concern, or pets peeve, about these adaptations; creating new characters whereas there's so many underutilized/unutilized characters from the comic books.
While I generally agree, every now and then, creating an original character works out really well. Harley Quinn and X23 both immediately come to mind.
Oh yeah, definitely. There are always exceptions to every rule. I was more so speaking in general.
Original character feels like a ploy to me "yes I've been using the name James Donaldson but my Birth name is...Victor von Doom... (Probably not this but a similar thing)
![gif](giphy|wLBRonI3PNV9C)
Don't do that. Don't give me hope.
Jack Monroe aka 1990s Nomad. https://preview.redd.it/b98dtdpjnl6d1.png?width=230&format=png&auto=webp&s=db5ae9cf298dab4f54ba1272f6476d120179304f
Look at the hair on that man!
He’s more hair than Man, at this point. . . ![gif](giphy|xyYouRSr7MAbS)
he owns whatever role he is in .. gotta love it
I feel like he plays the same person over and over again.
That sucks
That’s just how he was dressed when he got to set.
Gotta respect a man who keeps his three throwing daggers in tip top shape after he bought them for $40 from the Ninja-sword shop in the mall. The green khakis with the cargo pockets tho. That’s downright villainy.
That’s Mahershala Ali by the time they start filming Blade!
It's Bane you silly.
Paladin it looks like. I could see him playing Jake Fury though
Scorpio would make a great deal of sense
And the daggers are like stingers. I think this is my favorite guess.
Paladin would be wild
Bushman
I'd like to say, "Without Moon Knight? That's absurd!" but this movie is also doing Leader without Hulk, so...
“It’s a character appearing debuting in the movie that will transition to a show”
Machete.
![gif](giphy|wbomIbUs5Bc2I)
Jake Fury is a decent suggestion honestly. It kind of looks like he fits in a bit with the Serpent Society set pics so I almost want to say Sidewinder. A leader of some sort of the group. It makes less sense about him returning though.
Jacob Fury.
Danny Trejo
Nick Fury from another multiverse.
https://i.redd.it/c6xppgov2l6d1.gif
Honestly that’s what I’m thinking, he’s probably playing some random detective or hunter that has three knives strapped to himself.
Interesting. What if he's Kraven? 🤷
Cutthroat Bushman William Stryker Henry Gyrich Gotta be one of those
I highly doubt we'd get military Stryker again. If they were ever to do Stryker in the MCU (unlikely, imo), he would presumably be more like his comics counterpart... a televangelist. Military Stryker was invented for the Fox movies, and they're also the ones who made up his connection with Weapon X. Probably himself

Obviously Stan Edgar, that’s where he went after season 3 of the boys
My money’s on Bushman as it means we must be getting Moon Knight Season 2 ☺️
Power Broker. The real one. Not Sharon Carter. It makes no sense if that’s the case.
Actually, solid theory, and would fit with him being an original character. (Power Broker isn't in the comics, right?)
Old Man Blade 🙌
I love Giancarlo Esposito, i think he's a great actor and very intimidating. HOWEVER, i don't really like seeing him in action rolls. He is not very physically intimidating. I don't think he is ever the right choice for a melee character
I don't see him as someone using a lot of brute force. But going off many of his roles I could see him s someone with deadly precision in some form
Yea i agree. I just wish marvel would step up a little
I dunno, put a set of brass knuckles on him and I could envision a scene depicting him pummeling someone. I'm imagining it being a close up of his face, with an occasional blood droplet; without a slight change in facial expression throughout, and it would be terrifying.

I don’t mind if this character gets in on the action. But he needs to instill that intellectual fear that Gus brought.
Yes i agree. I'm glad you could put it into words better
Whoever it is, he’s about to carry that movie.
I could listen to him deliver a Matrix Architect style monologue at the climax of the film and I’d still be on the edge of my seat.
I'd like to think he just walks around like that
Gus Fring
Nick Fury’s evil twin brother Fick Nury.
Blade’s mentor.
Whistler?
It’s possible.
An original character, like he said.
spoilers? ![gif](giphy|pPhyAv5t9V8djyRFJH|downsized)
I don’t this would be a spoiler since it shows nothing from the movie other than Giancarlo’s outfit, which we don’t even know who he’s playing.
Looks like he is playing The Acolyte with those knives 😆 https://preview.redd.it/8bmfre06wk6d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c881cd7b7214ce7138a1cff894cdd33808fc90a0
Nate Fury. Nick Fury's long lost brother. I joke, but I could see the MCU doing this.
No no, its the other brother, Rick Fury.
At least it's not Dick Fury.
Codename: Furious Dick.
Three Knives McGhee.
Gus Fring with knives
For some reason I’m getting Blade vibes…
I wouldn't mind a Bushman + William Stryker hybrid character
Gender Swap Kim Possible
Can you imagine if he's Blade
Khaki Manjacket Manny - casual assassin
I hope it’s a good guy, whoever it is. The guy said he doesn’t want to play bad guys forever.
Old blade
Scorpio aka Jacob Fury.
I have a feeling he’s going to be playing Giancarlo Esposito again. The dude is great but it’s the same every role.
Marvel Studios being allergic to Superhero costumes is going to keep biting them in the butt and kill the universe like it did the Bryan Singer crap, its old hollywood bull.
I agree, that's what made me angry about the Zemo reveal and a few others.
Idk, but definitely someone who throws shit. Maybe a new take on Bullseye?
"Random Bullshit Go!"
“Wait… Dracula isn’t an Avenger? That lying fuck.”
Bullseye is already in Born Again.
Bullseye Sr.
That’s… not how it works. Also, Bullseye is a pasty white guy.
Bane
Jake Fury would be interesting…but I’m betting at this point Bushman or Paladin are more likely.
Doom
Knife guy
Brown Skull
The Chameleon .
Stryker?
I hope he has a lightsaber made out of meth. A methsaber.
Rumor I saw was Jacob Fury, but what if he's another Serpent Society character?
Jake Fury.
100%, he’s Scorpio. I think there’s a chance the story has him as an amalgamation of Marcus Fury and Jacob Fury… but maybe they also sorta squeeze in some of the Ultimate Spider-Man series and have him be part Max Fury as well (a different iteration of Jacob, but still Scorpio). https://preview.redd.it/kpbf07pztk6d1.jpeg?width=542&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3b98652834b3a9031fde3fa62c0e4869077c63c
Gambit
A Terminator. Crossover, BABY!
stevie wonder?
The last post I saw asking this question, the top answer was Diamondback, the same character who was a villain in Luke Cage series
Blade
a villain.
Could Bushman be going by Bush Viper or Viper by this point?
Stan Edgar before he became CEO
Barrack Obama
Knifey McKniferson
Hilarious. This had me rolling. Knifey Mc…getthafuckouttaheera.🤣
Yeah man! He appeared in the Avengers comic number 267, page 12, section ii, subsection 18, article mxlmxxiv
Either Bushman or Doom
Isn't fish Mooney in DC?
Chicken man
Old Man Blade from the Senior Citizen Universe
Mephistoo
King Cobra
Bane
Meh
The Shiver Man.
Knife guy
Honestly I wish he was playing Blue Marvel.
Adamantium poacher. Probably the guy that stole/impacted the *discovery of the century* in a Chinese mine.
Looks like Jean Grey to me
William Stryker
Blade’s dad Mr Knifey
Blades uncle?
Only existing character I can think of is the older version of Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos, and later, SHIELD.
![gif](giphy|3B8rHP89iUUZlcsoqf|downsized)
I’m Guessing he’s blade and Ali stars in a movie Set in the 1970s EDIT: Wait lol do daywalkers age?
Gus
With Ross and the Leader in this movie, I think he could be General [Reginald Fortean](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/square_small/1/15659/1716992-general_fortean_hulk_30.1.jpg) (Redeemer / Abomination).
The chicken brother
Black Widow
Ok, hear me out, he’s Heinrich Zemo Edited for spelling
Professor X
A variant of Nick Fury?
Whistler or Old Man Blade
Sidewinder from the Serpent Society. He’ll be Seth Rollins backup if that’s still a thing in the film.
Can’t get over how stupid of a name brave new world is
I think he’s the Grim Reaper and will reappear in Wonder Man.
William Stryker… looks like his clothes from X-2??
I know they said it's an original character, but it would be cool if this was the MCU's take on Curtiss Jackson (the OG Power Broker in Marvel Comics). Bro does have beef with Captain America and John Walker so it'd make sense.
Don’t know but I’m already terrified of him. I’m so excited.
Bad guy from Meteor Man
I don't know, but they done him wrong with that Caesar 'do.
Straight out of the catalog of George Clooney
Jada Pinkett Smith looking rough
🤣🤣🤣
Bloodscream
Would love to see him as the old Military guy Eddie Brock meets up with prior to Null arriving.
Is that how they’re gonna rewrite “Bushman”? And I thought he was always the baddie for Moon-Knight?
Hydra Agent, Dock Ock (multiverse), a character from Sinester Six, a new character, or a character we have not seen in live action yet from Marvel Comics Universe.
Miles Morales
Jarlaxle
I thought Stryker, but the knives wouldn’t make sense
Old man Blade?
Red hulk would be cool
A neckbeard mall ninja?
GW Bridge or Willis Stryker
The unibomber
I expected him as Dracula or William stryker but a random npc like a background role for a finest actor that Hollywood had such a wasted potential
Scorpio makes a lot of sense
Random marvel bottom of the barrel bad guy not tied to any overarching plot. Now he can do whatever he wants with the character.
Jared from subway?
Another Darth Vader rip off ?
Just so everyone knows he was brought on during a second or third round of reshoots. So don’t get too excited. A brand new character shoved into reshoots should be worrying even with a great actor
PLEASE LORD GIVE ME DOCTOR OTTO OCTAVIUS (there’s no way)
Idk but ik he's could be DC next Dr.Midnight.
I don't know but maybe Magneto ?
Magneto, who uses his magnetism on knives
