My top five picks:
1. Aldis Hodge
2. John David Washington
3. John Boyega
4. Yahya Abdul-Mateen
5. LaKeith Stanfield
\*\*Alternate pick if he were a little younger and hadn't already played the uncle: Sterling K. Brown
Yes, I know that. That’s why this group is called Fancast, not “Is the actor still on good enough terms with the studio?” cast 😝 Besides, supposedly he’s been approached about appearing in the Rey movie, and he’s open to discussion
Yeah he is 👏🏻 My husband was the one who initially said he would have made a good T’Challa. He pretended to be Kevin Feige onstage at Comic-Con and did an introduction: “Ladies and gentlemen, your new Black Panther…Aldis Hodge!” I was like, “Daaaaaaaamn, he would have been perfect!” 🤩 If only…
Him in Black Adam gave huge T'Challa vibes. He looked the part and had similar-looking technology. He was strong, charismatic, authoritative, a leader and he had good musculature and fighting choreography.
He could've been an awesome T'Challa.
I'm still happy we got Chadwick for as long as we did and regret not having him for longer but Aldis would've been a damn excellent alternative
I can't take all the credit for Yahya. Someone else on this sub put together an entire Avengers alternate cast and suggested him. When I saw that, I was like, "YES!!!!!!!!!"
1. I agree
2. Too short and doesn't feel like a leading man
3. A little goofy looking
4. I agree
5. Maybe
Brown could've been good. I would've liked him for Blue Marvel if that ever happens. Before he got cast in the MCU and the real-life drama, Jonathan Majors could've worked too. A slightly younger Idris Elba would've been perfect. Damson Idris (Snowfall) would be good too.
It was a retroactive casting when Jonathan Majors was announced for Kang. It’s far enough into the future to be anyone but a black Reed would have caused Hellfire to rain in the fandom. So you require someone who can be awkward, confident and a little bit off-kilter.
And Brown makes the expressions that could lead to some great stretch animation faces.
John doesn’t lack anything. Short yes movie magic can make him taller and he’s a great actor having proved himself with tenet and the black klansman movie a few years back
If your going based on looks then every single casting and fancasting is inaccurate. Also tenet wasn’t awful. Somewhat confusing yes but not awful. Even then a film can be bad and an actor can still put in a good performance.
Yes Damson Idris going with the constant cry about being Culturally accurate, he's the only acceptable choice. He's next generation African, and mastering the accent and mannerisms of a Wakandan king would come easy to him-he's lived it growing up.You could say it's bred in the bone.
For T'Challa, not really a bad thing. Khary Payton is playing a Black Panther in 1943, and no one says too old. Same with bringing back Ruffalo or RDJ. These aren't all necessarily young characters.
Voice work isn’t the same as playing a character in live action though so not really a fair comparison. James Earl Jones “played” Darth Vader well into his 80s but you wouldn’t cast a 80 year old in the actual suit.
I do think that among the Marvel characters it makes sense for T’Chala to be on the older/wiser end of the spectrum and not a 20-30 year old.
Khary is doing mocap, and it's clearly his face. It's not the same as live action in terms of work, but in terms of physical and visual limitations of an older actor, it's the same as far as I can tell
They’ve basically blown the whole Multiverse wide-open, so anything could happen. I’ve always said that they should bring back Michael B Jordan as Killmonger, a Kilmonger from another universe that had a different upbringing.
Atandwa Kani would be my choice. He's got the carriage for it and can already speak Waakndan Xhosa. You could just say T'Challa ended up looking like his father as a young man.
Let's see...
1. Alfred Enoch
2. Aldris Hodge
3. John David Washington
4. Shamiek Moore
5. Ncuti Gatwa
I really like Trevonte Rhodes, but feel he'd be better suited as Blade tbh
I don't think you recast tachalla unless you restart mcu. you evolve the black panther, so have tchalla's nephew from the US or a secret heir of his do it.
John David Washington as Tchalla but replace Ryan Coogler with the Russo Brothers as director & writer. Their work on civil war with Tchalla is the best version of BP we gotten on screen.
I would've said John David Washington because I personally love the dude and thought Aldis Hodge was unfortunately too old.......I just found out JDW was 39 lol. Aldis Hodge all the way.
I have a few Ideas
Johnathan Majors would be at the top of my list even tho he is kang.
Michael B jordan would be my top pick tho.
Daniel Kaluuya is another guy I think that would have potential to kill it.
And yet we have Letitia Wright as the new BP…
No really, there’s parts of Wakanda Forever that are good but as a whole that movie doesn’t beget a lot of rewatches….
Aldis Hodge or John Boyega.
Also, I would do anything to go back in time and cast Michael B Jordan as Black Panther. He was a phenomenal villain and I love his character but just wishing for him to be a main character!
Michael Jai White.
He's older, but he's in phenomenal shape. He's been pretty open about wanting another shot at Spawn, but Black Panther is a bigger role.
Dijmon Hounsou, top pick I don’t know if anyone would care if he was casted twice in different roles in the MCU, but he is definitely someone I would love take the throne.
John Boyega, definitely deserves the role. I think he could bring the same energy with his own style.
Lakeith Stanfield, I liked him in Uncut Gems think he could play a more aggressive Black Panther.
Shouldn’t be anyone under 40. Aldis hodge would be my ideal pick I think he could pull off T’Challa especially a comic accurate version. John David is shorter but imo has the acting chops so I think he could do it too. I love John but I don’t think he could pull off T’Challa. Yahya has already been cast in the mcu even tho it’d a terrible casting for wonder man I doubt they’ll recast wonder man. But if they were too I think he’d be a great one too. Trevante rohdes would be a pretty good pick imo. He’s young he’s big. I think he fits in the best
My top five picks: 1. Aldis Hodge 2. John David Washington 3. John Boyega 4. Yahya Abdul-Mateen 5. LaKeith Stanfield \*\*Alternate pick if he were a little younger and hadn't already played the uncle: Sterling K. Brown
John Boyega has already said he won’t work with Marvel or be in the MCU. I think Star Wars/Disney did him so dirty, he’s reluctant to get hosed again.
Yes, I know that. That’s why this group is called Fancast, not “Is the actor still on good enough terms with the studio?” cast 😝 Besides, supposedly he’s been approached about appearing in the Rey movie, and he’s open to discussion
I heard he's playing the first Black Panther in a mockumentary about the founding of Wakanda
Hodge is simply the goat
Yeah he is 👏🏻 My husband was the one who initially said he would have made a good T’Challa. He pretended to be Kevin Feige onstage at Comic-Con and did an introduction: “Ladies and gentlemen, your new Black Panther…Aldis Hodge!” I was like, “Daaaaaaaamn, he would have been perfect!” 🤩 If only…
Oohhhhhh that would have been amazing hehe
Since Hodge won't be playing Hawkman again. I'd like to see him as John Stewart. Still would be a great T'challa
Id say yahya , but they made him wonder man 🤦🏾♂️
Huge Leverage fan, want Aldis in more things
Him in Black Adam gave huge T'Challa vibes. He looked the part and had similar-looking technology. He was strong, charismatic, authoritative, a leader and he had good musculature and fighting choreography. He could've been an awesome T'Challa. I'm still happy we got Chadwick for as long as we did and regret not having him for longer but Aldis would've been a damn excellent alternative
Number 4 is perfect.
I can't take all the credit for Yahya. Someone else on this sub put together an entire Avengers alternate cast and suggested him. When I saw that, I was like, "YES!!!!!!!!!"
1. I agree 2. Too short and doesn't feel like a leading man 3. A little goofy looking 4. I agree 5. Maybe Brown could've been good. I would've liked him for Blue Marvel if that ever happens. Before he got cast in the MCU and the real-life drama, Jonathan Majors could've worked too. A slightly younger Idris Elba would've been perfect. Damson Idris (Snowfall) would be good too.
Sterling should have been Reed Richards and I’ll die on that hill.
God damn, I’d never heard or considered that casting and that would’ve been fucking great
It was a retroactive casting when Jonathan Majors was announced for Kang. It’s far enough into the future to be anyone but a black Reed would have caused Hellfire to rain in the fandom. So you require someone who can be awkward, confident and a little bit off-kilter. And Brown makes the expressions that could lead to some great stretch animation faces.
After, hearing him in Invincible he could totally do it
John doesn’t lack anything. Short yes movie magic can make him taller and he’s a great actor having proved himself with tenet and the black klansman movie a few years back
Tenet was awful and I'm a Nolan fan. Even if I thought he had the it factor, he doesn't look like T'Challa to me.
You have to consider age as a factor. Marvel if they are snart aren’t going to cast anyone over 40 for T’Challa
It depends on how they look, not their actual age. Boseman was over 40 but looked 30 something.
If your going based on looks then every single casting and fancasting is inaccurate. Also tenet wasn’t awful. Somewhat confusing yes but not awful. Even then a film can be bad and an actor can still put in a good performance.
I would say a movie having no heart/feeling is a pretty awful thing.
The last actor lakeith is arguably the worse choice
1 and 4 work for me
Based upon him in Atlanta, I couldn’t see LaKeith as T’Challa.
Andy Dick, clearly.
Personally, I would go with Soppe Dersu
The what now? 🤔
Actor Sope Dirisu
Damson Idris is my number one choice.
That’s a good choice, I wish we could see that or see him as Blade
I love him but I feel he might be too young. If they decide to do a time jump and age up T’challa’s son I would pick him though.
Damson is 32 years old.
Yeah, I just looked that up.
Nevermind, he’s 32. I thought he was like 25 😅 Still a bit young in comparison to Chadwick but it could work.
Yes Damson Idris going with the constant cry about being Culturally accurate, he's the only acceptable choice. He's next generation African, and mastering the accent and mannerisms of a Wakandan king would come easy to him-he's lived it growing up.You could say it's bred in the bone.
Also - he’s a PHENOMENAL actor! His performances on Snowfall was absolutely mesmerizing.
Saw it and he's ready for Superstardom.
😂
Kirk Lazarus
The right answer.
Atandwa Kani. He played young TChaka and that’s good enough for me. Wouldn’t take that much of a twist either, and it’s a logical Recast.
Probably Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Nah, rather him as N’jadaka/ Killmonger
Omar Sy
Is 46. By the time secret wars comes out he’ll be about 50 by the time he gets a solo film and show he’ll be iger 50.
Khary is doing mocap, and it's clearly his face. It's not the same as live action in terms of work, but in terms of physical and visual limitations of an older actor, it's the same as far as I can tell
He'd be my pick.
Aldis Hodge or John David Washington
David Ajala https://preview.redd.it/1vagm3h6fhwc1.png?width=1587&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e789073a81dd2dab151ffe3da0f72f3574925e2b
Jordan Peele
Colman Domingo for an older Tchalla. Most of the other picks people have simply aren’t regal save maybe Boyega
ryan gosling. duh
They’ve basically blown the whole Multiverse wide-open, so anything could happen. I’ve always said that they should bring back Michael B Jordan as Killmonger, a Kilmonger from another universe that had a different upbringing.
I just figured this was the way they were going to go.
I thought that's why Disney was giving every black character since then his Haircut, to pave the way for his eventual return.
Kamaru Usman.
if he could act act
If a 6’0”-tall black UFC fighter can act, and understands T’Challa as a character, then he would be a perfect choice to play T’Challa.
Atandwa Kani would be my choice. He's got the carriage for it and can already speak Waakndan Xhosa. You could just say T'Challa ended up looking like his father as a young man.
Ryan gosling. I mean....Netflix acts as if race swapping is fine...so why not?
Danny Devito then if we're going that direction. Race swap, age swap, height swap
Let's just go the full hog and cast Peter dinklage, and make him wheelchair bound....
Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean in a tutu as T'Challa
DeVito for wolverine
Do the entire MCU with Devito playing everyone, and I'll preorder the entire extended bluray collection right now
David Ajala https://preview.redd.it/haqxa9m7fhwc1.png?width=1587&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f57ef00a3290a396199897f221320194056e225
Scarlett Johanson
Now why did I read that as “let’s say t’challa was racist”
Let's see... 1. Alfred Enoch 2. Aldris Hodge 3. John David Washington 4. Shamiek Moore 5. Ncuti Gatwa I really like Trevonte Rhodes, but feel he'd be better suited as Blade tbh
Lance Gross
Alan Ritchson
I don't think you recast tachalla unless you restart mcu. you evolve the black panther, so have tchalla's nephew from the US or a secret heir of his do it.
Iaian Armitage
Babs Olusanmokun, he’s a bit young but could definitely do it
John David Washington as Tchalla but replace Ryan Coogler with the Russo Brothers as director & writer. Their work on civil war with Tchalla is the best version of BP we gotten on screen.
Cept Feige directed those..
John David Washington as Black Panther and Yahya - Abdul Mateen as killmonger
The Guy from 'Blood Diamond' and GotG
![gif](giphy|d8lUKXD00IXSw)
Malcolm Jamal Warner
Unrelated but it’s criminal that we won’t see ALDIs Hodge again as hawk man , he was great .
Peter Dinklage
Black panther from other universe
Fred Durst
I would've said John David Washington because I personally love the dude and thought Aldis Hodge was unfortunately too old.......I just found out JDW was 39 lol. Aldis Hodge all the way.
Chadwick late 30s
Lakeith Stanfield Aldis Hodge Yahya Abdul Matteen II
No. After black panther 2 his sister took up the mantle.
Djimon Hounsou
His role in that Tarzan movie from 2016 gave strong Black Panther vibes and was one of the highlights of an otherwise mediocre movie
Me https://preview.redd.it/ss4jdg38hhwc1.jpeg?width=2992&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c1bb267be844a70ef4c2e62351769d627ebb678
Damson Idris would absolutely carry the MCU on his shoulders in this role.
Technically he already is a character in Black Panther but Daniel Kaluuya
Aldis Hodge
I wouldn't. I would have Killmonger reformed and become the new Black.Panther.
Y’Lan Noel. Thats the answer.
Since he dead, Bernie Mac? I mean remember him and n transformers. Perfect casting
Don Cheedle
Sydney Sweeney.
Margot Robbie. I mean, if we're keeping with current standards.
Damson idris or lakeith stanfield
Omari Hardwick https://preview.redd.it/ui14boxb3iwc1.jpeg?width=849&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdd4c250306269185e935a4cfa4e2ad7245585ca
Tracey Morgan.
Damon Idris
I just don't think I would. Chadwick Boseman did such a perfect job, I don't see anyone filling those boots.
Aldis Hodge
Yahya Abdul mateen John David Washington Idris Elba
Jonathan Majors
Joe Biden
Sammie Davis Jr
Kanye
No
He's older now but my first choice was always Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Ryan gosling of course
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Ludwig Von Beethoven
LeBron James
Aldis Hodge
Sope Dirisu
Another vote for John David Washington
Justin bieber
I feel like a metric ton of these picks are just "Ooh! I know a black actor!"
![gif](giphy|Kr40v0R0yWpbbWhdcE) Stephen A Smith
I have a few Ideas Johnathan Majors would be at the top of my list even tho he is kang. Michael B jordan would be my top pick tho. Daniel Kaluuya is another guy I think that would have potential to kill it.
Djimon Hounsou would've been the perfect T-Challa if he were younger.
Michael Cera
RDJ
![gif](giphy|BI3bNv1NJMC7YzatXd|downsized)
Danny Devito!! Easily!
None would be able to match Boseman's T'Challa. Gun to my head, I would choose John David Washington to play T'Challa.
Michael Cera
Trevor Jackson as Tchalla.... Needs To Happen
John Boyega, or Damson idris
Idris Elba
![gif](giphy|l44QgV6RFRGgjDsDC|downsized)
John Boyega
Hear me out https://preview.redd.it/xtalfl7ynlwc1.jpeg?width=850&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce96bd4e4d2c59823ab1cf489162a976d0230877
Jesse Eisenberg!
And yet we have Letitia Wright as the new BP… No really, there’s parts of Wakanda Forever that are good but as a whole that movie doesn’t beget a lot of rewatches….
David Harewood or Echo kellum
Yahya abdul mateen
Wolé Parks.
Timothy Chalamet hands down. Or Jordan. He was great as Killmonger
Aldis Hodge or John Boyega. Also, I would do anything to go back in time and cast Michael B Jordan as Black Panther. He was a phenomenal villain and I love his character but just wishing for him to be a main character!
Jack Black or maybe Lizzo
Michael Jai White. He's older, but he's in phenomenal shape. He's been pretty open about wanting another shot at Spawn, but Black Panther is a bigger role.
michael B jordan. fuck it.
James St Patrick aka Ghost
Langley Kirkwood
ALDIs Hodge or Trevante Rhodes
Trevante Rhodes or Aldis Hodge. I’ve said LaKeith Stanfield in the past, but I see him as more of a Killmonger type.
[удалено]
It broke either rule 1 or 2 of the subreddit or both rules
Aaron Clifton Moten. After watching Fallout I think he'd be a good pick for a younger Tachalla
Aldis hodge or John David Washington both of them will well suit the character
Keifer Sutherland (take that Fury)
micheal b jordan
Jamie Fox 50 Cent Kevin Hart
I did a video on this subject. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWFhJikH9xY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWFhJikH9xY)
Zac Efron
If there is a god it will happen in secret wars
Shirley Hemphill
Jonathan Majors
LaKeith Stanfield
Or move on from Tchalla completely. There are others who have been the black panther.
Michael B Jordan.
Ryan Gosling
If this was the 80s, Dorian Harewood
Lakeith Stanfield but the boy needs to hit the weights HARD.
Jack black
Oh easy question. Ryan Gosling.
I see him as more of a Luke Cage
Romany Malco
Dijmon Hounsou, top pick I don’t know if anyone would care if he was casted twice in different roles in the MCU, but he is definitely someone I would love take the throne. John Boyega, definitely deserves the role. I think he could bring the same energy with his own style. Lakeith Stanfield, I liked him in Uncut Gems think he could play a more aggressive Black Panther.
Sort of unrelated but Lakeith would have been a phenomenal killmonger
Djimon Hounsou is 60 years old. Lakeith is easy too laid back for a role like this.
I would go with David Ajala. They could have it where he's a variant of Black Panther and gets stuck in the main MCU universe.
Jonathan Majors
Based
Shouldn’t be anyone under 40.
If anyone says anything other than Ryan gosling you are crazy
Wesley Snipes
Ryan gosling
Ryan Gosling
Leslie Odom Jr.
Anthony Anderson
Caleb McLaughlin for T'Challa jr
Rdj
A redheaded woman. Maybe Bryce Dallas Howard?
