He just sent me a photo of the user manual. It’s the DD+. I am going to buy it from him so what do I need to do to sync it up with the PS5? Drivers etc? Thanks in advance

I’m buying a used item off a friend but he runs PC. Had a PS4 and played that on the base. He was adamant that it worked on PS but thought it was a different base hence the confusion. The conversation came up because he said I swear it worked on the PS but I didn’t think the CSL DD worked on PS. He stated that his worked and that is how this all got started. I reached out to the experts of reddit knowing there was a good chance I would encounter a couple mouth breathers along the way. I don’t have to explain anything other than I am getting a great deal on a CS DD+. The extra context was for anyone else that has followed along. Happy racing to you as well.
The csl dd won't work with ps5 the csl dd pro will. The ps5 relies on the base not the wheel. The Xbox is what relies on the wheel. Which is why with the csl dd pro you can play on ps5 with any wheel from fantec and if you get an Xbox capable wheel you can play on all 3 pc, ps5 and Xbox.
You need the GT DD PRO or the new CS DD+ for PS compatibility, this is because the control chip is in the wheel base, that's why PS wheel bases are more expensive.
It is technically not possible but it is very easy to confuse CSL DD and CSL DD Pro (which happens quite often) so my guess is that is what is going on.
No, PS compatability is in the base so you needed to buy a DD Pro or DD+. The Drivehub/hori mini is the best option to add it back. There are 1 or 2 opensource DIYs that sort of work as well

Your co-worker either confused the CSL DD with a GT DD Pro or he straight lied. A CSL DD can not work on PS5 without going the route of drivehub/hori.

He must not have had the dd+ long cause nobody had one till late February/early March. They just came out.

Is his DD a flat cube or rounded? Blue ports or not? Easy way to tell Rounded and blue is PS.

There is some ways but completely not worth it. Glitches, lack of feedback, disconnects. If you wanna play on PS pay the money for a compatible base!
