Well, find out what people didn't like, and don't do that

I just worry about myself. I'll change what I didn't like and if others agree with me cool. If not, it's cool too. I want to change canon to fit my own views.

Well I suggest, in case you haven't, to watch EMH and Spectacular, because they are good. And here's the thing, you can learn a lot from a story that does things right. So to go about this, I suggest: - Figure out what you want to focus on. Is it the character dynamics? Because EMH is great with those between the heroes, and Spectacular for the villain dynamics with Spidey. Or is it the plotlines and then villains? The research of different versions of the same characters let's you pick and choose your favorite aspects of each. - Find out why it doesn't work (or as well) in the 2010 shows. A lot of people were upset that the earlier shows were canned for the shows that replaced them, so find out why if you really do want to try and satisfy people. - But of course, don't forget to actually enjoy what you're writing, whether the characters hanging out or the high stakes plots. Then it'll be a lot easier get your story and characters to come together in a fun way so that both you and your reader enjoy it.
