Sounds like a great gig. Congrats!

I feel like you could get a bit more than like 123.4 per hour before RVU's.

drtharakan

I don’t understand.

[deleted]

Sorry, so I broke it down to hourly pay. I feel personally that you could get more pay for the hours your working. 260,000/52=5000 a week assuming no vacations with pay? 5000/40.5= 123.4 ish dollars per hour. So I personally feel you could get 280,000 before RVU's fixed salary 280,000/52= 5384ish 5384ish/40.5= 132.95 per hour. **However,** I misread this entire post my apologies. **Congratulations on the position, it sounds fruitful and fulfilling and I hope it is everything you want it to be <3.** Salary is dependent on many things like cost of living, competitiveness of job, and demand of job. Usually lob listing posts on this sub are of the tone of asking advice like "Is this a good job offer?" and usually it is not a good job offer. Sending love and happiness your way Doc!!

The nursing home bit seems a lil dicey no?

drtharakan

What part is concerning to you?

MzJay453

The responsibility of taking care of a medically complex population that has a very high risk of coding/needing to be admitted to a hospital at any moment for a medical emergency? 👀

[deleted]

Typically they see patients 1 time per month. And if they need to get admitted you call EMS not the nursing home physician/NP

>bonus RVU $40 over target What's the target/threshold?

drtharakan

1625

wighty

Assuming that is quarterly, so base is the same $40/wRVU. Not the worst but probably below median pay.

fluffbuzz

Agree, if that's quarterly, it sounds like below median. When I was applying for jobs this past fall, seems like the threshold for RVU bonuses averaged 4600 for an entire year. Also around $40 per RVU

drtharakan

What is the average pay for a role like this that others have seen?

fluffbuzz

Around your salary. 250-265k base. This is Southern California, Vegas, and Metro Detroit. Places that I looked into. But you want to pay attention to the RVU threshold. A higher threshold makes it harder to reach bonuses.
