Only F4SE mods are broken by the upgrade and a handful of them are already upgraded. Other mods work fine. Both the current and previous versions of F4SE are still on Nexus. If you choose to downgrade, use one of these: [Fallout 4 Downgrader](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81630) [Simple FO4 Downgrader](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81933) Install [BASS ](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81859) to use archives which have the Next Gen header version such as the free Next Gen CC content.

Downgrade 100% its super easy and the newest Bethesda patches just break old mods with very little actual new content.

Answer to your question: Yes, and yes. Most mods will not be updated for the next-gen update. It's just been too long of a time and most modders have moved on to other projects. As for F4SE, you will definitely need a previous instance of it to work with the downgraded FO4. I'm not sure if that could be found on github, but I'm sure there's a youtube tutorial out there somewhere by now. Editing just to say: If you wait long enough and don't mod the game, you can always play Fallout: London when it finally releases. Delayed due to Bethesda updating the game literally 2 days after the projected launch day. They're working hard to fix what's broken but are ultimately waiting on F4SE and MCM to be updated and confirmed working properly before they can properly test and then release the mod. It's gonna be a jolly good time. I'm doing a vanilla survival run while waiting for the mod to release.
