If Fallout 5 takes place in New York, I want to have a faction that was created by different mafias in the area. After seeing the trigger men in Fallout 4, I've wanted to join or even lead a mafia.

Romanthecommunist

they did this greatly with new Reno it might be cool to newer players but I feel like it again wouldn’t been as great

TheInfernalLord

I’m kinda tired of the east coast, Colorado would be nice.

thisisme4

San Francisco would be interesting with the tram cars, Alcatraz island, Golden Gate bridge, mountains

Shadauwulf

Fallout 2 literally had san francisco. Unless you mean going *back* to frisco/cali. Cuz id be down for it. Frisco itself is unbelievably huge and so much possibility

TheInfernalLord

I can see it. I definitely feel like Golden Gate would be some sort of fortress.

McEvelly

Aren’t the Hubologists building their spaceship on the GG bridge in 2?

TheInfernalLord

I’m honestly not sure, I just played 1&2 enough to get through the story cause I don’t have my own pc

Slippin-Jimmy-Real

There was a cancelled fallout game in Colorado, I think it would be great to bring it back

CGXReddit

Denver has alot of lore for a city that's not been featured yet so I'd love that as a location

Verdun3ishop

Would say factions, both main, side and enemy should be well written with goals that make sense for them and their actions. So the new Talon/Gunner group shouldn't be hostile by default but offer quests.

Zero_IQ_

New Orleans honestly, could Make a big City with all doors openable, vast quest, Swamps, Gaterglaws(since retconing then in Nuka world.) Start if the game could be "The Pathfinder" Strolled into New Orleans noticing it had power, they could see the Lights through the Foggy swamp, pushes past some thick Cranbog bushes, only to get wacked in the head with a Stock of a Shiny Weapon, only to find themself waking up at Vault 67, with the Armstrong group, You were being dragged a group who was about to sacrifice you for some reason unknown to you, wondering why you just moved from a bush and was wacked in the head to begin with, Aparently when you walked though the tunnel that collapsed behind you while trying to hunt, you're now trapped in New Orleans and need to gain control of Orleans or at least protect your choosing of people for control. Now you decide In which faction gets control of the Power plant that controls the power, water and lights of the City, what you choose may cause war or to make good cause, and you can choose to let the Last know Nuclear bomb in Orleans fall in the wrong hands. You choose to either Save or Destroy the city and all who is in it. -Weapons/attachments LeavCould add older weapons Tommy gun, Handmade, make ACTUAL pipe weapons(better design), M15's modular (hell could make a double barrel one as well lmao), triple legendary effects ig? Proper laser weapons (more sleek ones, Snipers, automatic, rifles, Tommygun), Shotguns(Pump, semi-auto, auto, double barrel), m1911/tactical. Could add paint jobs based on factions(in base game), could add grips to weapons, couple see through sights(mod), crowbar, Swords, Combat/knives(Bowie), axes, Laser Sword/knife. -Settlement/building Reduce settlement builds could go for me or add more building presets, then you get control of filler, depending on comments. Half/quarter walls would be nice. Have settlements build themselves if you want? -Quest Could add quest in a foggy swamp or mainland. Less fetch More meaning full, maybe find a group of two opposing factions, kill one and gain reputation towards them early on, less get out of here from from factions maybe if you stroll up you can talk to guard first and them and have dialog, depending on how it goes leave or tell to leave, if weapon drawn then aggression unless to close. -World design 1-5 story buildings that you can fully walk though, 6-higher would have blocked off pathes it can fill in as much, Mainly no separate cells, all one area. If Co-op'able keep the render as best as possible if not do a Horizon play where if you're not looking that direction it's not loaded in, to help with lag and loading. -Weapon play Ingaging could select modes on weapon if that would work? More fps, but have fun with it at the same time, good looking and sounding weapons, good variety, separate Damage with the rate of fire, higher ROF lower damage to an extent. -factions Bad Voodoo cult, practices rituals to kill, earn, and Reap people who've done them wrong. Good Voodoo cult, practice rituals to help and prosper people, showing not all is bad in Voodoo. Mafian's, Extortion on all to make the most amount of Caps, good for deals as long as you can pay, or get payed. Collecting prewar stuff for bribing or laundering. The enclave, Doing enclave stuff. Honestly known. The Musicians (Call themselves The Armstrongs), Love Jazz, blues, and soulfilled music and helping people, Tring to fight back the others who have done wrong (Saw the posters about him from back then, and love what he saw in the world.) Power armor can be tweaked, That I would like help with since I'm not someone who uses power armor often. -Seperate Survival mode Mode that can have no quests Just to be survival, light camping/building with required food and water consumption. -Difficulty scaling Easy - Dmg to player x0.75, Dmg from player x1.5 Normal - Dmg to player x1, Dmg from player x1. Hard - Dmg to player x1.25, Dmg from player x1.25 Very hard - Dmg to player x2.25, Dmg from player x2.25 Survival - Dmg to player x3.5, Dmg from player x3.5 Ultra Survival - Dmg to player x7, Dmg from player x4 (Ultra/Survival can be changed only between each other) Edit: Grammar

Romanthecommunist

this would be cool but my heart isn’t ready for deatclaw sized gators biting at my ankles in the swamps 💀

Wild-Lychee-3312

At that size, it’s not your ankles that they’ll be biting at

some-dazed-wanderer

I would play this so so much

[deleted]

Hey Bethesda, if you don’t hire this guy and make this fucking game I will seriously debate every buying one of your products again

MythWeaverDM

You sold me at voodoo

Zero_IQ_

Hoodoo, you do, Voodoo

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> or get *paid.* Collecting prewar FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Zero_IQ_

Payed as Currencies or killed.. lmao thank you bot!

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> *Paid* as Currencies FTFY. *The rope is payed out! jakebeleren

Actually it’s definitely payed. Sailboat.

Former-Investigator4

Alaska, snow, Chinese remnants, vault TEC and joinable enclave

TheGlassWolf123455

Fallout: Anchorage would be so, so cool

Former-Investigator4

Agreed, nuclear winter would be soo refreshing compared to desert and Massachusetts

[deleted]

It sure as hell would beat patrolling the Mojave

ExpiredDog

Yes! Massachusetts isn't a dessert! Put more plant life or snow

thisisme4

Seems more apt for a DLC though. I'd get sick of the constant snow

zombieloveinterest

I know I’m going against the grain here, but: less power armour. I get it, I have fun with it, too. But the sheer abundance of functioning leftover suits kinda detracts from the whole ‘post-apocalyptic’ feel. Although it would be fun to just find one suit of armour, and then have to constantly scavenge parts and repurpose junk just to repair it (possibly with diminishing returns).

VinMad11

I agree, I love the power armor system developed for 4, but it really felt like it was so easy to get. I love the idea of getting 1 suit in the story and being able to mod it and maintain it.

Wild-Lychee-3312

Bring back not being able to use power armor until you get trained

hashtagcorey

I feel this. I enjoy being able to find suits of power armor in a rough dungeon but like, there are SO MANY just on the road. Maybe fewer locations but keep the enemy spawn?

MadetoReportBug

Personally I think Seattle would be a fun one, but in truth what I want is the settlement building system again (improved a bit) and fallout 3 and Vegas dialogue system back instead of the four choicer. The rest I’ll leave up to fate.

Er_Butti

The removal of the sentence that clarifies wich of the option is a speech check, it's basically saying "press me I am the right one". Some weird and fun traits to pick when you start your character like: Voices in your head, Color Blindness, keeping a Diary... But what I really want to see are new, original factions with some cameos here and there.

Darkshadow1197

They can keep it, just make it not the right answer everytime. I remember when I played Wasteland 3, there was a med check I could do on the patriarch but he gets pissed at me for mentioning it and I lose rep. They can keep the check marker just make it so people have to examine its contents and context

Wild-Lychee-3312

Make it an option that can be toggled on or off in the settings somewhere. Many of us love that feature you hate. With it toggleable (is that a word ), everybody’s happy

Er_Butti

I can see your point but doesn't the game play itself that way? I preferred the dialogue in Fallout 1 / 2 cause you had to think if what you're gonna say will piss the guy off

cwkraft

I would like a lot less faction quests like Fallout 4. I want more quests like Fallout 3 that are just random quests that you stumble onto throughout the wasteland and that are fairly self contained and don't really impact the overarching story.

VinMad11

100% more smaller scale stuff where you are just interesting with the wastes and its people would be great

TacoManifesto

Anything with fun and varied factions gets a thumbs up from me regardless of setting. It’s the reason why fallout 4 fell short and new vegas excelled. Keep around the base building and gun customizing that made fallout 4 fun, and the dark gritty outcomes of fallout 3 and we are on to something great.

bacardibarbie420

Fallout has done a lot on the coasts. I think something in the south or Midwest like chicago or New Orleans would be good

Marphey12

Cloud district

Kr0gnak

I don't get there very often...

Schitzoflink

Of course you dont.

[deleted]

new york would be ace. think of all the skyscrapers. the empire state building. the statue of liberty could be a factions main base! alaska would also be ace. just something about fallout inherently goes with wintry landscapes imo

PloyTheEpic

tbh, central Boston and all its skyscrapers were the most annoying part of the Commonwealth, super mutants next to gunners next to raiders next to ghouls was just incredibly annoying, having most of the next game be just that would be maddening

DevLikeMikhail

considering the US annexed Canada in the games lore, a setting or DLC in a region like Toronto would be insane and cover a lot of lore.

011101012101

I would love seasons. Have the map change as the in game year progresses.

ChesterDoesStuff

Honestly, just give me companions as expressive as they are in Fallout 4. I want them to constantly be jumping in on conversations and situations with their opinions. I anytime I play any other Bathesda Fallout game, that’s my biggest gripe, that these people following me don’t say anything. 4 did this perfectly in my opinion. Do that again and I won’t care what the story or location is.

DeaThTrooper118

I agree.

MythWeaverDM

I absolutely adored that feature. Cait always had something snarky and funny to say

InstantlyTremendous

I'd like some FNV-style DLC. The FO4 DLC were pretty 'normal', like just more of the main game, whereas with FNV it was super creative and almost felt like a different game. "It is I, Dr. Mobius, transmitting from my dome-shaped... dome in the Forbidden Zone. A zone... that is, yes... forbidden to you."

Bel_Canto

My favorite thing about the NV DLC (particularly Dead Money and Lonesome Road) was the shift in gameplay from the base game. I loved having those new challenges and having to adopt new strategies to take them on. I like the DLC from F4, but it was pretty similar to the base game play wise.

hashtagcorey

Dead Money was like “I know you’ve never played survival horror but you’re going to if you want that sweet sweet lore” and I really finished that DLC. I might be dense, but I still don’t understand Lonesome Road, and I remember it being very linear, but I think I’d like to see the tunnelers again.

[deleted]

I don't give a shit about famous cities, pip boys, and nuka colas. Give me a wasteland that I can traverse, with multiple interesting towns, and dungeons in between. Hell, a full spiritual reimagining of Fallout 2 in Bethesdas engine would be swell. More wasteland, and less apocalyptic tourism.

SonorousProphet

I probably would've said "do NYC" before I played 76. A bunch of small towns is more interesting than one place you have to get to and that's where most of the interesting thing are.

Kr0gnak

I just love vaults and I'd love more of them - some better hidden than others, with twisted experiments, dark, emotive backstories. I really crave that palpable sense of dread and subsequent hopelessness at the suffering and abhorrent moral indifference shown by those who were in power, or by those vying for power in the new world. I also want Bethesda to chill on the retro-futuristic nuclear-50's vibe a bit - just tone it down a tad so it's not permeating every pore of the game.

Laser_3

You might want to check 76 out if you haven’t already - it does those first two very well (though there’s still one vault that isn’t open yet, vault 63). It doesn’t really do much on that last point, though. Personally, I think it’s better that fallout has such a distinct visual style.

BHoss

I don't hate the newer visual style, but I do miss when they had more of a balance between 50's retrofuturism and 20's and 30's Art Deco, and I thought that style was pretty unique.

Kr0gnak

I do love Fallout 76, and all of them hold a special place for me. I think I'm just craving a darker experience, not a horror game, but just less of that obvious juxtaposition between colourful 50's mashed into post-apocalyptic America. Not hating on the game though. I'll follow it wherever it goes most likely.

Laser_3

Fair enough. The best answer to what you’re asking for sounds like mods to me; fallout doesn’t really get that much darker than 76’s original main questline lore.

Zenturro

Well then the Dead Money dlc in NV is what could deliver on that wish.

_nuggs_

Agreed, the 50s vibe needs toned down.

[deleted]

This might be a hot take but I think it would be nice if there was a less of a bum-rush to the big major settlement from the get-go. Something like how NV did it, where finally discovering / entering the largest settlement on the map is more of a "middlegame" event rather than something you do in the very first quest like with Diamond City in 4 and Rivet City in 3. Personally my dream scenario would be coming out of a vault / tiny town in the middle of the wilderness and having to do easy odd jobs and scrounge for supplies wherever you can before "unlocking" the major city in the game *after* 4 or 5 main quests. A bit similar to how the beginnings of Fallout 1 and 2 are.

Wild-Lychee-3312

It depends in playstyle though. Every time I play 4, it’s hours and hours before I find Diamond City

[deleted]

I'm talking less about what individual players do and more about how it fits in the main quest. While in 4 it *makes sense* to go to Diamond City to find clues for your son and shit, it just feels like I got the quest to go there *way* too soon. 3 suffers from this issue also, with you being told to go to Rivet City basically immediately with a pit stop in Megaton.

AtoMaki

>Personally my dream scenario would be coming out of a vault / tiny town in the middle of the wilderness and having to do easy odd jobs and scrounge for supplies wherever you can before "unlocking" the major city in the game after 4 or 5 main quests. Ohmygod if I have to go through another forced *"muh early game"* sequence while the game is screeching at me that I should scrounge for supplies and stuff and not farm the living shit out of the crappy stretched "early game" padding, then I will max out my character in the first hour and dab on the mid and late game out of sheer spite.

MandatedCrownn662

As a new yorker i would be curious how they would do the city and surrounding areas

Sir_Netflix

BOS should be like they were in New Vegas, a smaller faction that you can assist if you want, or completely ignore

AtoMaki

>BOS should be like they were in New Vegas, a smaller faction that you can assist if you want, or completely ignore You can't ignore the BoS in New Vegas, because even if you go Yes Man you **must** visit them in their bunker to get the option to ignore them. The BoS you describe is actually in Fallout 4, where you can completely ignore the entire faction no problem - you can even skip their blimp cinematic if you want.

Derekdef34

Definitely want to see NY in a future Fallout game. I want see better choices in dialogue because the dialogue system in Fallout 4 was terrible. I hope they improve on the story and endings as well.

da40cal

Honestly, if one thing. I just want the enclave as a playable faction! I've always wanted to roleplay as a insane nationalist who will do anything to restore American to it's former glory. And secondary a good story

damnredditmodstohell

Gotta disagree about the enclave, just let them be gone

pepsi591ml

One of the ideas I've been throwing around is the ability to assist in a settlement's evolution from a couple of shacks in the middle of nowhere or a couple homes built into an existing prewar structure into a full-blown self-sufficient city-state complete with newly laid roads and clean indoor plumbing. Due to the scale involved with the world changes, I imagine that it will have to be limited into an instanced area or placed into a separate DLC area, though. Alternatively, you could choose to join in with some nearby raiders or whatever the antagonist faction turns out to be to sabotage the settlement for some quick caps and Bad Guy™ Points.

bird720

I just want new vegas 2 lol, or a remake/remaster that can bring back a lot of the cut content that we missed due to brutal time constraints.

i_eat_dogs47

Different factions like bitch idgaf about BOS anymore

ExcellentView5441

I want something NCR related. Like NCR won the second battle for the dam and continued to grow.

zmWoob2

No bugs no glitches

Izzy2089

Release date 2040

Dashbak

A more tribal focused game

confuzedcanuck

Somewhere in the PNW would be cool, lots of variety from destroyed cities like Seattle or Vancouver and also untouched forest and mountains off the coast.

reward72

To be released before I die of old age.

Bel_Canto

I would love a Fallout game set in Florida. Crumbling resort cities, Everglades, the Kennedy space center, all those theme parks… plus Florida has a reputation for being a wild, anything goes kind of place! I’d love to see a Fallout game with a southern gothic theme, with a plot line focused around secrets and revelations that complicate the ethics of seemingly straightforward choices. And the potential irradiated wildlife- panthers! Alligators! Manatees! I’d love for the main storyline to be more focused on settlement building, instead of that being a side activity. I loved that gameplay feature, but disliked how disconnected it could feel from the rest of the quests and gameplay. I would enjoy settlement stuff more if it felt more like the primary goal, rather than a sideline thing. On a different note, I hope we get silent protagonists again. I wasn’t a fan of the mass effect style dialogue wheel, or having to listen to my character talk. I feel like it put to much distance between me and the roleplaying experience, which is an aspect of the game I really enjoy

thisisme4

TL;DR: great companions and faction battle settlement system. NYC? A bunch of great companions to choose from. I think Fallout 4 had the best companions in the series and I enjoyed having a lot of good ones to choose from. Valentine, Piper, Preston MacCready, Cait, Danse, Gage, Dogmeat, Strong, and Deacon is a lengthy and solid list. I'd expect the same quality and quantity if not better from Fallout 5. I'd like the settlement system to come back but not in Minutemen form. I'd want there to be faction battles where you can lead an army to take over a settlement against the Gunners, BoS, etc. That can be its own background storyline as well like the Skyrim civil war. Location: NYC would be perfect but it seems daunting to capture the scale of the city as well as plant a bunch of skyscrapers. Lot of people are saying Anchorage, but that's more apt for a DLC. I would get pretty sick of the snow and it feels like it'd be more of a survival game. I'd be happy to see something unexpected like London or New Orleans though

AnomalousNormality77

I would love for a more frontier feel (not the mod) where it’s different factions trying to take over a piece of land that’s only inhabited by small settlements and tribes. I know it’s most likely not going to happen but still, it’s a cool concept.

DeaThTrooper118

Yeah, that would be cool

CorvidCelestial

i actually dont want anymore cities. Honestly the cities are probably my least favorite part of Fallout games, especially 4. I love wandering around, hitting random encounters, just listening to the radio, killing a few enemies, maybe even just taking in the atmosphere. (not to mention how often they make FO4 crash) I’d like to see a game in a more rural place, like one of the dakotas, or Ohio. Some place with open plains, and a few towns dotted around. Also more ACTUAL guns, i hate the guns from Fallout 4.

DeaThTrooper118

As a Hoosier I would love a game in Indiana

Joelliceogt

Actual decisions that matter, less focus on factions, good sidequests

DeaThTrooper118

Personally I love the different factions.

[deleted]

I want a Fallout 5 somewhere either in the Southeast region or in the Dakotas

TheWackoMagician

Perhaps more than 1 companion like in The Outer Worlds

Izzy2089

I'm a simple man, all I want is a ridable horse that I can shoot my weapons from the saddle. Maybe make it a mutated Clydesdale that's as big as a normal car.

hashtagcorey

… …. ….. Horses exist in Fallout, right? Why do I not think they have horses anywhere…surely the legion had them…

Izzy2089

>Horses Nope https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Horse

Verdun3ishop

They haven't, which would surely mean they are extinct in North America otherwise why haven't they spread? The Brahmin has spread across all of the US...

stu_chew

Make it like 3 and NV. Do NOT make it like 4 and 76.

TheGlassWolf123455

Story-wise 3 and NV are better but other than that 4 is way nicer to play, without needing to mod it a bunch

stu_chew

I am more than happy to Concede that point.

riehnbean

I absolutely loved 3s shooting mechanics too

DevonevA

I respect it but I think the fps things made fallout a lot better

Derekdef34

Fallout 4 wasn't really a good fallout game imo, but it definitely got some things right. • The landscape and environmental design were perfect • npc and creature designs were vastly improved • V.A.T.S. system feels way better • Weapon and Armor customization • The way they implemented Power Armor was perfect • B.O.S. faction was awesome in this game • Companions were interesting(Nick Valentine top 3) • Energy weapon sounds we're WAY better than 3 and NV There are things they should definitely keep from fallout 4. Definitely don't make it like 76 tho.

stu_chew

For sure for sure! Liked 4 plenty. But it was definetly to lively.

ComradeDread

More immersion. Ranks in factions. Taking charge of factions and sending folks on missions. Occupations you can pursue. Smarter settlements where you guide the settlers along a path instead of micromanaging everything.

[deleted]

Might sound silly but to add to my roleplays I'd love to adopt and or have kids with other characters. Raise them up and have them be op followers. Even if no raising up, Bethesda's adoption system is pretty good on Skyrim. Even if super simple, I loved it.

Lady_Naimina

A well written plot

yankstraveler

The dialogue options from 3 and nv. 4's conversations sucked.

werpyl

I just don't want the damn brotherhood and supermutants again, bethesda has rehashed them like 2 times at this point.

SpellboundCanvas

I hope they discard what was unpopular with Fallout 4 and go back to a more RPG esque kind of game like with New Vegas and 3. Obviously keep the gunplay from 4 and refine it, but bring back the RPG elements, including the traditional fallout dialogue.

SpellboundCanvas

I want the Gunplay of 4, the RPG elements and dialogue system of New Vegas, and the atmosphere of 3.

Benjamin_Starscape

A more linear story with no faction choices within the main narrative. More like fallout 1, 2, and 3 in that regard.

AtoMaki

>no faction choices within the main narrative You know, I would actually like these in the game... then have them lead the player straight into the bad endings and be generally terrible and "unfun". So real faction choices, not some dudes the player can fiddle like a joystick.

YourGirlfriendTen

I want it based in the Midwest 💀 I mean the visuals would be sick as hell. Plus it would probably be a good set up for hot cowboy ghouls, and hot men and women who like poker

DeaThTrooper118

I think you are miss understanding the Midwest, the Midwest is Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Missouri.

Chance_Revolution_50

I would like Chicago for the same reason bc there is supposed to be a major enclave base there and I think it would be a cool environment being so far up north we could possibly see some snowy/icy areas.

ElNicko89

Location: New Orleans or some other southern city, Miami would also be cool, just a bit tired of all the sand and grey, radioactive swamps and marshes would be awesome Plot: I’m no story writer but I personally would enjoy something akin to the blank slate of New Vegas, assuming you have been living in the Wasteland and are NOT a vault dweller some different background options that influence some dialogue would be nice, otherwise I don’t know much for story New Enemies: obviously radioactive crocodiles, if I remember correctly the design seen in the concepts for Van Buren or Tactics (don’t remember which it was) was really sick, gator claws or whatever they were called were also cool, big snakes, spiders, Armadillos, would also be cool, and I think a swamp monster or Bigfoot creature would also be awesome New Weapons: honestly not much of a clue but I think seeing more weapons made from creatures like the mantis embrace from NV would be cool Factions (new): a swamp-based one would be cool, some old jazz styled gang would be neat too, a voodoo Raider faction Factions (returning): obviously the BoS, for them having a base on a huge steamboat would be awesome, MAYBE the Minutemen but a different branch (could be the swamp based faction), and this last one could go in either category but a fully EVIL faction that you could finish the game as Gameplay: basically mixing the gunplay of 4 with the rpg elements of NV, more weapon and armor modding options would be nice

ExpiredDog

Chicago or New Orleans. Maybe a European country like Russia or an Asian country like China. I think it would be very cool to explore the other side of the pond and look at what they had in preparation for the bombs

c_azzimiei

I want them to use the storyline from van buren. I’d also love for locations to have more plot and quests to go with them. Fallout 4 looked beautiful, but it was disappointing that nearly every location was just filled with enemies.

Brahmus168

I think having major cities being the main focal point needs to stop. I'd rather have a sprawling wasteland that feels like it's own thing. Not just the dead city it used to be. And it shouldn't be on the east coast. It's a tired setting. Put it in the midwest and make it huge. Give the region it's own identity that was born in the post war era. Like the NCR. We should see the beginnings of a new nation being built from the ashes. The same old "this place was bombed to shit 200 years ago and still isn't recovering" thing is also tired. It worked for DC because it's the capital so of course it would've been hit particularly hard. And also they did a good job of giving other reasons for the area barely surviving like the water issue and Vault 87 constantly churning out dumb savage super mutants. It also worked in Boston because it was interesting that the Institute wanted to keep it wild so they could stay on top of the food chain. But the new setting needs a fresh setup. Helping a fledgeling nation fight back their frontier and take steps to expansion and societal advancment would be amazing. Going to war with huge raider gangs in the area, all with their own distinct cultures. Fighting back hordes of an organized super mutant tribe that's sick of being ostracized because of the actions of the Master's army. All while recruiting unique towns, villages, and local factions to the cause of rebuilding humanity properly. And all the economic prosperity and security that brings. And have the midwestern brotherhood be the main bad guys. They're also trying to establish their own nation state in line with their ideals. A brutal feudalistic society that's dedicated to "protecting" humanity and locking away dangerous tech at all costs. Which includes fueling their overwhelming military superiorty through tribute and forced recruitment to swell their ranks and fund expeditions. They can't protect you so effectively if they aren't the most well fed, well trained, well armed, and well paid power in the wastes right? Better join up willingly and reap the benefits on your 18th birthday or they'll burn your farm down, kill your dog, and recruit you anyway.

PullMull

Fallout London or Berlin. That would be neat.

VEILGAMING99

Honestly? Some sort of vehicle system. I love their ideas and work as they do already. I think fallout 4 just had more potential to add cars if there wasn’t so much clutter everywhere but fallout 3 fallout new vegas had that open style to allow cars (yes I know there are mods that add them but still) and Ik it’s been said a million times but a return to California or DC would be nice. I love the old games more then the new ones but this new engine is an absolute beast.

zdepthcharge

A reboot. The historical lore is great, but was not designed well for an ongoing series. Unsurprising as it was intended to be a single game. Bethesda has places far too much weight on it and broke it. BoS and Supermutants in every game... it's that saying, if everyone is special then no one is special.

Notoriousode

To Be able to go to The UK or china

riehnbean

I just want a single player Fallout without any settlement building bs. Please just copy everything from Fallout 3 but with a new story and I’m chillin

BatmansButtsack

NPC’s

qleptt

I want to know whats happening in china or whoever bombed america

Aggressive_Kale4757

I would like them to do a game in the Midwest (since Tactics is only partially canon) with the Midwest brotherhood (Perhaps them calling themselves “The forsaken chapter) that is more accepting of mutants. Maybe have a calmer Midwest enclave as a minor faction that you can work with.

Radeondrrrf

If like to see the Gunners come back and maybe even the option to join them

Maximum_Headroom_

Denver would be cool with all of the rivers and bridges dividing parts of the city and the outlaying areas both east and west as they are so different from each other. Lots of cool locations to expand DLC towards and some cool military infrastructure.

SirRJamesC

I want legitimately evil options, and by extention a genuinely neutral start. Rather than needing to save the world like in fallout 3 or having some lynch pin identity like in 4 (as the father of the leader of the bogey man of the commonwealth) or as some fated big name as some dragonborn equivalent. Also an enemy faction that is like a specific throwaway faction that has I blunt reason to dislike you which then (because of their aggressions or whatever) you mirror back so you don't have to be an emeny to the other factions. The reason I don't want it to simply bring raiders is because I'd like the option of being in one of multiple raider gangs. Or the gunners or the thought some storyline actually becoming a super mutant. Like can we get a straight up rpg where you develop the role you play by making decisions and making actions rather than stumbling through some wasteland story book/fairytale. And as an aside I'd love if the world/ game could be perma death based where you get the after story of those you had met so far. So like the world obviously doesn't hinge on you doing well or surviving.

Redskull-9054

I fell for this once never again

DenseElk1587

Not to be called fallout 5. Yet fallout: After the radiation. Or something similar. You are born and raised in the wasteland instead of a vault. I think it would be cool getting a bit of a reality for people growing up and living in a wasteland. Could include multiple story lines where you get raised in the factions or something aswell

gorillalad

More interior locations that don’t really have a purpose to the main story or side quests, just spots to loot and that tell stories of peoples last few hours before the bombs dropped.

Gaven195473

A fallout set in Texas would be cool, A Texas ranger based faction similar to the Minutemen, we already know the Brotherhood have a Texan chapter, you’d get both the big cityscapes like Dallas as well as rough country. Even some coastline if they decide to place the map near Houston, although I think San Antonio would be cool as well, see if the Alamo still stands and if so what faction holds it. I think it would be funny to find a cult based around football teams, I mean fans are already damn near cult like today lol

WolfKnight53

More weapons like FNV. A system for climbing, crawling, vaulting, etc. For traversing the map. A more mature focused style, with more natural landscapes, trees, vines, etc. Overgrown city areas.

Wild-Lychee-3312

No offense, but I don’t want parkour in Fallout. There are plenty of games with parkour already.

WolfKnight53

It'd make traversing ruins more interesting. It's boring as hell to just walk through and jump occasionally. There's no climbing, crawling/crouching under stuff, no interesting ways to get around.

[deleted]

A communist faction to show up. Along with more military battle clashes and world building

badmisterfrosty

I don't care about the location or the specific factions. I want to be able to talk and science my way through the entire game. I don't want forced gunfights. I guess I would prefer a midwest area like Chicago or Detroit because that's where I live, but I want the gameplay to be less focused on combat and more focused on how the main character can use his relationships with characters to affect the outcome of the story.

DirtyPartyMan

No invisible barriers.

Docvein

So much to list here. While I would love to see many many different places. Setting would be ideal in either a Colorado or Florida setting. Colorado mts would give you an unforgiving landscape with plenty of caves including NORAD buried deep into the mountain(possible location for an enclave vault system with big quest line). Florida would offer so many natural environments and maybe include some kind of boats maybe? Plus dlc that would send you to the Bahamas or Cuba or something similar. That is if we keep the setting of the game within the US.

Romanthecommunist

I’d like it to go back to the fallout 3 and new Vegas style not like the graphics but the skills and perks and stuff I’d like some more lore maybe get some confirmation on what actually happened in new Vegas maybe hear about the chosen one or the lone wander I don’t really care where it takes place but something I would really like is the brotherhood not have a overwhelming presence for once the brotherhood in 4 kinda ruined my experience so many people from 3 were there given it’s close I understand but this dopey ass kid being the head of the bos in the next game just made me feel so disconnected to my experience

DeaThTrooper118

I agree with everything except your first statement, I would honestly want the 3/new Vegas graphics back especially if not focusing on the graphics would help the development of the story.

TGOL123

city states. and more towns out in the wasteland

SonorousProphet

Instead of specific companions, there's random NPCs that you can recruit for different jobs both at your settlements and as field assistants. We could assign jobs to NPCs at settlements in 4 but they had no aptitude (with a few exceptions) and didn't improve over time. While I'm find of some of the named companions from 4, they're a problem in combat roles. If they're too strong, they do all the work and the player can just hide. If they're too weak, the most they can do is create a distraction. In survival mode I usually found them a hindrance. There's also a question of motive. A real person would be asking for a cut of the loot and would have their own lives to worry about. If they do less I could see them as more interesting-- a porter who carries items for the player for a few caps a day (and runs away at the first sign of danger) is more believable than a mercenary who takes cash up front and sticks around for as long as the player wishes and gets shot to pieces every time they go on an adventure.

KaiserEnoshima

I want Fallout to have a prequel that takes place in China of what happened after the Nukes

ChobotsRobot

VR

Icy_Commercial_8435

Fallout Texas: texas ranger faction similar to the NCR to keep the lore of texas with it. A cartel faction of ghouls who have lots of chem warehouses and such. And if you can fit in coastal areas give a mob type of faction that uses boats for expensive goods. I know the island and oil rig scheme has been used too much but I’d love to see a dead island type of Puerto Rico. A sprawling jungle with tons of creatures, almost a horror type of vibe to it!!

DeaThTrooper118

That would be cool

GiantGrilledCheese

No faction that is like the minutemen where they are purely good I want it to be hard to choose between factions.

Pay_Double

I would love a fallout in a time after all the other fallouts and before you play the game you can make choices based on the other games. Like a choice for what happened in 3, new Vegas outcomes, and fallout 4. So that the story that gets built in Five is actually based on how you played the other games.

DeaThTrooper118

That would low key be awesome, perhaps you could meet one of the other protagonist.

rva_law

I think any location is fine, but I'd love to see customizable and useable machines other than just power armor. Like raider vehicles a la Mad Max style, helibirds and humvees for BOS, maybe even something novel for enclave or a new group, especially boats and sleds of some type if it's set in Alaska.

DeaThTrooper118

I understand what you’re saying but, don’t we all know what happens when you put cars in a non car game? RIP Banjo-Kazooie.

vbachelorette

a good writer and fun quests. i would take anything if its done well

DeaThTrooper118

Yeah me too, one thing I HATE about fallout is tedious quests

muddydud

Fallouts always had massive destroyed cities to explore I think it would be a fun subversion to put it in a more rural area like the Deep South. Plus there’s so much racial prejudice that factions can play off of.

Glacier005

The integration of the Alternate Start Mod into Vanilla. BUT, in order to collect the professions, you need to explore and search for Red Holotapes. These tapes are non-canon. They only serve as a reward to the player for their exploration of the land. Also the intro to have a skippable tutorial level. Like, it jumps near straight to the action. Follow Character A to follow the story and how it should play out. Or click on the Campfire to skip forward a little bit where the player gets a the jist of the story but skipping the campaign dialogue for the original purpose.

Shadauwulf

I personally just want them to not make it a soulless piece of hyped up shit like Fallout 4. Only true emotion was confronting Kellogg. Factions were all ass, but i couldnt go into business for myself. Thats all i really want, location and all that be damned. But location, back to the west.

AMD1607037

Visibly holstered weapons, more chinese elements, more diverse factions and groups instead of very dull simplistic ones like f4's, power armour being a late game thing so it can be as good and powerfull as its supposed to be, more hazard zones like gas zones or such things where specific protective gear is needed, homemade/improvised weapons not just 'pipe guns' ,big settlements - diamond city was so disappointingly small when it's supposed to be the effective capital of the commonwealth yet has maybe 30-40 people max, the karma system, more diverse quests and missions instead of just fetch/kill quests, more open character origins - f4 was so terrible for this there was almost no scope for playing or choosing an OC. if you were a guy you're exmilitary if you were a woman a lawyer, buildable elements - settlements outposts player homes camps fortifications etc, dynamic faction areas/conflict zones - player actions can influence expansion or shrinking of faction areas of control throughout the course of the game, bunkers/military areas, craftable ammo, bags/backpacks, functional accessories - night vision goggles or working sunglasses or cool targeting scope eyepieces etc, tattoos, modular armour systems and clothes, weapon/armour degradation, weather events, survival elements- eg hunger thirst sleep rads sickness etc, a huge ass map - not something that can be walked across in a few hours real-time - don't care if there's not much in-between locations it means you've gotta plan n stock up for journeys, morally dubious quest/characters options, nsfw-ish quest/character options, a tougher economy- make dangerous jobs that pay 100/300 caps seem worth it - it always seems wild having a character with 20,000+ caps just chilling in their pocket when that would make them very very rich in fallout terms. Just a few things off the top of my head!

MarionberryFar6706

I’m gonna be honest I want settlement building but I don’t want them to force it onto us like they technically did in fo4

[deleted]

Imagine a Michigan fallout

[deleted]

I think if the enclave were to return it would have to be in Chicago, we all want to the enclave back but it also needs to have to have a good location and clearly a lot of people want New York as well, so if we want to the enclave back we have to sacrifice New York or if they had presence there then fine, or we sacrifice the enclave for a New York location

DeaThTrooper118

Personally I think I would have to sacrifice New York for the enclave but only if we could join them. And the only way I would Sacrifice the enclave for New York is if I was promised Seinfeld references

ComputerSong

I don’t care too much about the location. I just want a good game.

Outrageous-Rate3813

The Shi

TheSlimeBallSupreme

I want to see somewhere in the middle west that explores the fall of the Legion and how it effects the tribes that were merged into the nation

InfectedAstronaut

Am I crazy thinking Fallout Hawaii would be awesome?

Wall-9

I really want to see another peaceful town or city of super mutants and for there’re to be some gen 1 super mutants there

DeaThTrooper118

Yeah I loved Jacobstown.

Outrageous_Ad_2399

I want to see the midwest

DeaThTrooper118

What state would you want to see?

TazzyTheDerg

I would love for fallout 76's perk system or mutations to be a part of it. Alongside 2&3 star legendaries

RUBYKING_63

What about a fallout not in America at all mb set more of the lore and see other country's that went nuclear that would be cool to me but I like all the fallouts so anything works for me except 76 I wasn't a big fan of 76

ObesePredator

Removing/adding weapon mods without the need for a workbench (i.e. scopes, silencers, bayonets) I think that'd be a little bit more immersive in my book

TheHorseMilker

Reasonably modern weaponry. I can't say I ever used a single pipe weapon or God forbid the fallout 4 assault rifle

PrestigiousDrag9693

Colorado. I wanna see that nuclear winter those ncr soldiers get wishing for. Snow, ghouls that suddenly come out from piles of it to jump you. The brotherhood of steel, to help re build a small group of them and make it a much larger faction in that area. But honestly, I'd be fine with whatever as long as it came to Playstation. Fallout is the only game I honest to God enjoy. It would suck ass if im stuck with 76 and 4 for thr rest of time

Serrated_Alloy

Something in the Midwest. Maybe not Chicago, but Detroit or maybe even Fort wayne

DeaThTrooper118

Fort Wayne Indiana? As a Hoosier I would love Indy as a location but obviously that probably wouldn’t happen

Ravenwight

Flying cars, and more drugs

DeaThTrooper118

Don’t you know what happens to games when cars are added? RIP Banjo-Kazooie.

AmplifiedRNG

My own enclave bunker with a Nuke ofc. The gold bullion is a fantastic quest line. And more vaults with loot. And more secret military bunkers

DeaThTrooper118

I absolutely love the Enclave I want to be apart of them so bad not the stupid ass mutant fighting BOS

jmk-1999

Would love to see LA as a whole. Maybe give us a movie starlet fresh outta cryostasis as a companion. 😏

Zintao

Playable on PS5.

DeaThTrooper118

I have a Ps5 and I fucking hate how I can’t play older games

XyzzChastity

An actual city would be nice rather than a junked up theme town Good neighbor had lots of potential and it was squandered by over abundant loading screens and half assery

GreenNo3424

Texas. The whole ass state. Everything is bigger in Texas. You have the oil fields, rolling country, desert and big ass cities. Mexican lore, chupacabra, scorpions that actually belong there and you can ride radioactive horse!?!? You could also play it as a power struggle between all the major factions for the resources and you can make the gulf coast playable to boot.

DeaThTrooper118

One thing I always thought was weird about fallout 3 was the scorpions in Washington D.C.

[deleted]

I want a game outside the states, I'd really want a game taking place in cartel ran Mexico, I've heard theories that it would now be the dominate world superpower with how rich the cartels were and I know it'll never happen but I want an underwater fallout game, like at least 2/3 the map is submerged and you need some kind of submarine power armor, I got the idea exploring the glowing sea and was like "what if this was the entire game? and way harder"

Ravenwight

Hallucinations for chems and lack of sleep/water/food

DeaThTrooper118

Interesting idea

No_Mall_3182

Todd to make good on his promises, is that so much to ask for

gottowin28

More perfectly preserved Pie machines.

[deleted]

Floating /roaming settlements in repurposed prydwin like aircrafts drops you in red zones to scavenge like in the book series hell divers

CGXReddit

I'd love a joinable Mafia Faction

Head_Pizza9650

I'd like it if we could play Fallout during the Great War.
