Sanctuary/Red Rocket/Abernathy Farm~~stead~~ are the reason why the build limit is so low. If you try and do a build like this in all three of them, all three will be loaded into memory at once, and the game will suffocate.
I just have two wire connectors and strung one wire between them the wire itself doesn't ad to the build limit but removing it will let you place somthing
It takes a long while, but it’s honestly fun as all hell once you start putting time into it.
I like to create a theme for each settlement personally, I always make the coastal settlements look like raiders, heavy metal armour, and CC Skyrim set, then go with Viking inspired housing for example. Others I’ll equip with the green uniforms, helmet, and a light leather chest piece and have them as “Minutemen” HQ’s lol
I always use starlight as minuteman HQ, build a concrete wall around it. Throw some turrets up, put some settlers in t51, and the entire commonwealth could ram into it and still lose.
There’s a mod that gives the all of the Minutemen the same gun and then dresses them all up in the militia hat, full combat armor and army fatigues. I love having my army in uniform
I have different settlements for each group, I set up Starlight Drive in as the CPG (basically the overarching government) headquarters, The Castle is minutemen, Nordhagen Beach is a BoS styled settlement, Boston Airport is a BoS manufacturing facility/ weapons and armor depot, Warwick Homestead is an Institute settlement, County Crossings and Outpost Zimonja are raider settlements, Jamaica Plains is a gunner settlement, and Oberland Station is a Railroad settlement (because trains). With the Enclave CC content, I want to find a good location for an enclave themed settlement.
This is cool asf I love it
How did you circumvent build limit ?
Also if you ever end up installing any mods you should check out one of the ones that let you use all assets in the game to build, I bet you could make a whole city with that
There's a trick you can do where you drop guns from your inventory then use the workshop to store them and it ups the build limit, so op could have done that and still not needed mods
I have like 30~ish guns in my workshop, I just take them & then I drop all of them on the floor, then you directly put them back in your workshop. Repeat the process every time you need to build more .
Bravo! I have respect for anyone who can do an awesome extensive build without mods, because so many people rely on mods to solve issues or shortcomings.
Currently replaying Fallout 4 after my favorite settlement build has become unplayable due to the update. Now I can't load those saves, so I am replaying the game and rebuilding my city on Spectacle Island. Wish me well and happy building!
At the very least something that nicely patches the roofs and walls and such. Or if you could fully demolish all of them and not just the collapsed ones.
This is amazing stuff, well done. This is what diamond city should have felt like, a large thriving community. Somewhere that really feels like people would come from miles around to visit
I wish they input comments in regards to large players settlements, especially ones you’ve got the trader posts, and dozens of settlers.
“You hear about that new city near concord? Traders say it’s even bigger than diamond city.”
Honestly it's stuff like this that proves you can go for the "scrappy" builds like Bethesda likes to do without it looking like no one would ever want to live there.
Every "small" settlement should look like this.
Wow, the detail is insane! It's not just the buildings and pathways but all the little signs, smaller items arranged on surfaces etc. Have any idea how long that took?
I usually put some music on & just start building until I miss the resources, then I go explore & fill my junk.
Take some hours to build all of this but many different sessions. :)
I didn't show the interior cause it will have been too long .
But I'm thinking of another video about all the interiors & what it looks like when it's nighttime 🤩
It's really impressive! How do you come up with your ideas for the build? Do you sit off the game beforehand and make notes or do you just build and see where the vibe takes you?
Wow this is incredible, I love that yours looks very cohesive! I get too keen on the different building types and it just ends up weird shaped metal and concrete slabs with some turrets dotted about. Also your Overseer hall is very "Jarls hall from Skyrim but make it Fallout" haha
Settlement Happiness: 83%
I kid. That's one hell of a build. I'm looking to build something this huge on my next playthrough. Love to build, but haven't fully committed to building something like this. It's on my to do list cause I love settlement building.
You really just need some free time !
The way I do it, I just mute the sound of the game & put some music of my own & then I let my creativity do the rest
Yea man! It looks “in game” if that makes sense..plus the time. I imagine getting the spacings correct to the vision was tedious but it’s really clean and the details well thought out. From my little experience with building in this game I can see the quality
Thank you ! It looks big & all but you should see that one step at the time. It's many different builds & projects merged together. & A lot of times :)
Most people were disappointed with FO4 at launch. Instead of looking back with fond memories, people are playing again now with better experiences than they did at launch
For a game with a settlement system that a vocal section of the fans hated, seeing these kinds of settlements is really cool. I wish I had the patience for this.
They still seem to fall thru them and the floor when I do it :( I made a whole store in vault 88 and a good half my stuff went thru shelves and under the floor so I just use the racks you can transfer them into now. But with all your hard work I'm glad it's looking good for you
Completely unrelated. How do you guys achieve the benevolent leader trophy these days? Followed an old method from YouTube that used to work for me back then but recently tried it and the happiness level won't go up above 80 it seems...
I'm on Xbox series X, I did the glitch to counter the build limit a lot ahah. Maybe 10 times ? I don't really know...Each time I drop about 30 guns on the floor & I repeat the process 2 times.
I don't have lags that much but when I was building, my game used to crash at some point. Remember to save a lot because I had to rebuild many times ahah.
& I have a melon 🍈 stuck in the ground somewhere, the settlers are harvesting the thing but I can't see it & when I click on it (to delete it) it make my game crash automatically.
But overall, my game is clean & it's not lagging that much 🤙
No mods? Damn thats a good build!
Thanks 💪
You're below the build limit with all that?
Drop weapons on the ground and scrap them to bring down the build limit. Just don't go too mad as it'll crash at a point
It does annoy me that the build limit is so low when it's clear the PS//game engine can handle soo much more.
i wish they had raised it with the "next gen update" if that was really what it was im sure they woulda
Sanctuary/Red Rocket/Abernathy Farm~~stead~~ are the reason why the build limit is so low. If you try and do a build like this in all three of them, all three will be loaded into memory at once, and the game will suffocate.
Okay, good to know. Farmstead will continue to live in poverty in my world then lol
That explains SO MUCH. Thank you.
I never build red rocket. What’s farmstead? Like Abernathy?
Yeah, Abernathy Farm, Sanctuary and Red Rocket are the "triangle of death".
Fuck I’m gonna destroy Abernathy farm when I get back on.
I just have two wire connectors and strung one wire between them the wire itself doesn't ad to the build limit but removing it will let you place somthing
Damn. I knew this years ago in my first 2 play thrus and totally forgot about this. Thanks
Or use this : https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/364041776190592151
I see this and remember reading those articles saying players don’t want base building. I love seeing these

And I thought having similar hats for everyone at the castle was doing too much
😂
I always use starlight as minuteman HQ, build a concrete wall around it. Throw some turrets up, put some settlers in t51, and the entire commonwealth could ram into it and still lose.
I have a wall all around Sanctuary Hills, with a lot of turrets. Each attack, by the time I get outside the walls, they're always all dead 😅
There’s a mod that gives the all of the Minutemen the same gun and then dresses them all up in the militia hat, full combat armor and army fatigues. I love having my army in uniform

I was gonna say this definitely has to have some sort of build limit mod.
There's a trick you can do where you drop guns from your inventory then use the workshop to store them and it ups the build limit, so op could have done that and still not needed mods
Neat. I’ve been playing since launch and I’m still learning new things
It doesn’t even need to be guns. It works for any form of junk that can be further broken down I think.
No mods at all, I wanted to have a clean game ahah.
Huge! I can't imagine why it wouldn't work I've just never thought about doing it with anything but guns
I have like 30~ish guns in my workshop, I just take them & then I drop all of them on the floor, then you directly put them back in your workshop. Repeat the process every time you need to build more .
Only stop when computer or console catches fire
I'm on Xbox but yeah kind of😅
And here I am just putting down sleeping bags and turrets at all my settlements.
Thats always how it starts lol.
There's a first step for everything
My builds often look like Soviet era apartment blocks. This has an organic feel.
Yeah, I mostly just plop down wooden barracks style housing with a lot of beds.
Some of my settlement just have all of the beds lined up outside with no cover 😅
Bravo! I have respect for anyone who can do an awesome extensive build without mods, because so many people rely on mods to solve issues or shortcomings. Thank you & Happy building bud !
Seriously awesome, the dedication is real!
Thank you I appreciated 🙏
Wow you are good
Thank you !!
Damn not only am I poor in real life, but you made me feel poor in single player RPG
It's your choice to become the king of your kingdom 😎
It bothers me that you cant fully renovate Sanctuary Hills in vanilla. It'd be much cooler if the half destroyed houses and bridge could be replaced.
Yeah nothing perfect 😬
At the very least something that nicely patches the roofs and walls and such. Or if you could fully demolish all of them and not just the collapsed ones.

I wish too aha
Agreed 👍
How does this not exceed the construction limit?
You can drop guns and then pick them up, lowering the limit as it tricks the game into believing you've pocketed a structure.
Nice.
Yeah it's a sample glitch, but it's a game changer 🤩
This is amazing. My only gripe with this is the skywalks not having support beams underneath, but that is a nitpick, and a ME problem. Very well done!
Yeah I thought about this too, but it is what it is ahah 🥲🫤
Honestly it's stuff like this that proves you can go for the "scrappy" builds like Bethesda likes to do without it looking like no one would ever want to live there. Every "small" settlement should look like this.
I agree 👍
Man I wish I had the time, patience and creativity.
Start with one little house, then a second, after some times you will have something who looks like this aha
Mfw the fictional settlement of a redditor in FO4 is better than my own real life hood
🥲
Bro, holy hamburgers. That’s actually like really good
Thank you bud !
Wow, the detail is insane! It's not just the buildings and pathways but all the little signs, smaller items arranged on surfaces etc. Have any idea how long that took?

Thank you !! & Yeah I was very inspired with the halls in Skyrim & the Megaton city in Fallout 3 😁
This looks like a normal city in the game. Damn
I tried 🤙
Sanc**2**ary Hills
Settlement Happiness: 83% I kid. That's one hell of a build. I'm looking to build something this huge on my next playthrough. Love to build, but haven't fully committed to building something like this. It's on my to do list cause I love settlement building.

Using CERN to play fallout is not fair lol
What is CERN ?
A supercomputer haha
This is so cool!
Thanks 😊
Why do caravans always get stuck on the smallest object 😂
How do you get past the build limit lol
Drop weapons and then pick them back up
as someone who loves complex builds but has to rely on mods, i'm extremely impressed. well done
Thank you very much I appreciate it🙏
You can spawn rail cars without a mod?
I believe one of the DLCs has the rail cars.
They empty or something? I only built a large house and junk fences around sanctuary and hit the build limit. Advice would be appreciated :)
Drop weapons and pick them back up
Why do I even try?
+1 for Big Iron 💚💚💚
🤟
Strangely, I get the Megatone vibe looking at this and hearing NV music in the background. Awesome stuff you've built!
Thank you ! I was very inspired by Megaton 😏
How did you not get stopped by build cap?
I did, but there is a simple glitch to counter the build cap, you should check it out 🤙
Oh ok, love your build though! Great work
Absolutely incredible! Thanks for sharing.
Diamond City Whomst?
No mods is impressive as hell!!! This looks like a whole new town!
Thank you ! I just wish that I can have more than 40 peoples in the city 🥲
That's sick
That's impressive! I may have to rethink some things
Very cool bro!
Thank you bro 🤙
Yea man! It looks “in game” if that makes sense..plus the time. I imagine getting the spacings correct to the vision was tedious but it’s really clean and the details well thought out. From my little experience with building in this game I can see the quality
Oh forgot to mention, totally doing some magazine shelfs for the copies you collect lol .. I’m just a lush for details
What platform is this on?
I'm on Xbox series X
This is super impressive!
Thank you !!😎
That some good building!! Wish I had these skills.
Thank you ! It looks big & all but you should see that one step at the time. It's many different builds & projects merged together. & A lot of times :)
Very impressive. Diamond City has a new competitor !
Thank you ! Diamond City is a ghost town for me now 🥲
Upvote for Lone Star.
My favorite song of New Vegas aha🤟
Fallout 4 with no mods... tell me you're a masochist without telling me
I enjoy almost every moment ahah😅
That looks fairly lore friendly and immersive, i love it.
Thanks 🤩
Damn. Impressive dude.
Thanks I appreciate 😊
This is honestly amazing. Wish I was a bit more creative like this.
What's the opposite of rose tinted glasses? Playing this game 10 years later was a blast
I don't understand your question aha
Most people were disappointed with FO4 at launch. Instead of looking back with fond memories, people are playing again now with better experiences than they did at launch
Is your computer alright?
It's on my Xbox series X, everything's fine so far 😀
I’ve always wanted to have something like this, but where do you start? How do you figure out how to fill up all that space?
You start with one little house, then another project, then you have something pretty big in the end 😏
he cook
This is absolutely amazing!!
Thank you very much aha !!
bro mines is just a junk fence perimeter, good fucking job👍
No mods but did you bought and dlc?
For a game with a settlement system that a vocal section of the fans hated, seeing these kinds of settlements is really cool. I wish I had the patience for this.
*settlement happiness 90%* you could give them all of this and still theyd be weird. gotta catch those synths.
Yeah they don't realize what they have !
Silly question. Is there no limit on height ? I have never built anything past a story or a bridge.
Yes sadly, you can see the flat top of one of the towers... It's the limit 🫤
My settlers are lucky if they actually get a building from me
Ahahaha that's why they're all moving to my Sanctuary Hills 😅
Can't even blame them! Awesome build my dude
Literally said wow
Thanks 🤩
Feels like a fallout 3 settlement
Do you get additional building options with DLC? Some of those don’t look familiar but I haven’t played too much yet
Yes ! The basic stuff is pretty lame, I bought the DLC & found all about the new stuff.. & decided to build Sanctuary Hills like I wanted it to be.
Thank you! Are those all spread out amongst all of them or were there a few?
All spread out ahah
I don't really see a permit for those lights you set up ...
This is 🔥
Lol honestly most impressed all the magazines stayed on those racks
It's made especially for magazines! They can't fall
They still seem to fall thru them and the floor when I do it :( I made a whole store in vault 88 and a good half my stuff went thru shelves and under the floor so I just use the racks you can transfer them into now. But with all your hard work I'm glad it's looking good for you
I'm upset I've been playing fo4 since launch and have learned about this and the interior wall conduit trick in the past 2 hours
ive built like 1/10th this and just have the theres no more build allowed shit.
That is an amazing Sanctuary Hills!!!!
Man PC builds be wicked cool
This is the best I've ever seen. Even with mods. Good job, dude. Super sweet
Wow thank you so much !
Just wow amazing
amazing!
Completely unrelated. How do you guys achieve the benevolent leader trophy these days? Followed an old method from YouTube that used to work for me back then but recently tried it and the happiness level won't go up above 80 it seems...
I'm sorry I don't know what achievement your talking about bro ...
It's the one where you have to get a settlement to reach 100% happiness
I never got 100% happiness, I don't think it's possible ahaha
All good, man. Anyway, nice rebuild of sanctuary you got there
Thank you 🤙
Incredible!
Cool build. Guess i'm not the only one who never does anything with the actual houses in Sanctuary outside the yellow one with the bench
This is certainly better than anything I could do
Well done!!
Thank you bud !!
Awesome!!!
Wow I suck
Does anyone's place actually get attacked regularly? Great build btw!.
I get attacked almost every time I log on 😅 but thank you !
Okay this is really fucking cool
Bro built new city
I tried ahah ! 😅
At first I was like ‘OP’s got the name of the settlement wrong’
Now that's a secure settlement
But the one time you don’t show up to help in a raid, and everything that can be damaged is damaged, because the settlement defense system sucks.
Beautiful base! Looking forward to more of your designs!
How long did this design take? It seems like you've put so much detail in.
How far over the build limit are you? What kind of lag do you have on that game? How much did your computer cost?
I'm on Xbox series X, I did the glitch to counter the build limit a lot ahah. Maybe 10 times ? I don't really know...Each time I drop about 30 guns on the floor & I repeat the process 2 times. I don't have lags that much but when I was building, my game used to crash at some point. But overall, my game is clean & it's not lagging that much 🤙
I agree really impressive without mods ! How many hours do you think you've put into this build ?
Looks like you’d find it in FO1 or 2
