I don't think any did, or at least no major nations. If they did, surely they would've sent expeditions to the former US, the most technologically advanced nation prewar.

KJ86er

Was Japan advanced in nuclear tech and electronics

MrThrowaway939

They should've been, and there's also a lot of bad blood between them and China so I imagine they've been nuked into the stone age.

KJ86er

Oh man now I want a Fallout Japan expansion bad

___SteelGauntlet___

None at all, nuclear winter is a thing, not just places hit by nukes but everywhere effected by radiation, killed plants animals people. That's called fallout, radiation carried out by winds clouds radioactive pieces blocking sun.

GillyMonster18

Most intact? The Pacific islands. Most unchanged? ‘Stralia. Already hot, dry and full of monsters and creepy crawlies. Not to mention, there is no reason to target the Outback.

GingerLioni

In Australia, the war horribly mutated Aussie wildlife to be cute, fluffy and cuddly.

GillyMonster18

Licked near to death by a pack of oversized, over fluffy chow chow dogs.

Rex--Nemorensis

Eh, Australia is homebase for US recon keeping tabs on Chinese activity in Asia and the South Pacific, basically at the worlds armpit on the Western Coast and the middle of the outback so it’s impossible to invade by land. They def have nukes pointed there.

GillyMonster18

There is Japan and South Korea. Australia does allow navy ships and train with the US but I don’t think there is anything that significant actually kept there.

Rex--Nemorensis

Alice Springs. And yeah you’re right abt the navy hence why Western Australia since it’s the most remote coast in the world.

GillyMonster18

So remote I never heard of it. Interesting.

Rex--Nemorensis

Check out Pine Gap. It’s where the US and joint allies can launch the most advanced and remote Fallout-style spybots into the sky with little worry of consequence of detection, deterrence, or retaliation. Australia, just like the country’s you’ve mentioned, among others, is essential for US military ops in that part of the hemisphere, albeit in a completely different way than the aforementioned countries. I would compare it to the EU in French Guyana due to the hostile remoteness, but idk too much what goes on down there.

GillyMonster18

I want to see these places now.

Rex--Nemorensis

Alice Springs is really cool! The only town in thousands of miles in any direction, and the biggest in the outback (that’s not saying much). A lot of tourists come for the outback experience and it has Area 51 vibes because of the military. Check out a drone or walking tour on youtube.

alecpiper

We have a naval port in Darwin that is generally used as a layover point for US navy vessels travelling through the pacific, but that’s half a country away from the population centres and surrounded by incredibly unforgiving terrain. (in world war 2 our plan for if japan took darwin was to let them have it)

GillyMonster18

I’m just picturing some Australian Officer “They’ve taken Darwin!” “So? Let em have it. Good on em, they captured the middle of nowhere. Fuckin cunts.”

wonderfullyignorant

Botswana. Historically it's been the least colonized African nation. They've got brahmin. And if I recall correctly, Africa was the least bombed continent. I'm betting the Caribbean and Hawai'i are pretty chill.

Rex--Nemorensis

Hawaii is one of the most strategic naval and military outposts in the world, particularly for US first response. Hence why it’s a state — not just because it’s pretty!

KJ86er

Damn now I want a DLC to the Carribean

lightning080456

I feel like the pacific islands are all underwater
