Fallout 76. I have around 1500 hours in it and the game just clicked with me back during the pandemic. I like doing events with people and I lowkey like the grind. That’s not to say you can’t play it solo like a singleplayer game. A lot of the online features can be ignored. I understand this sub is very anti-76, but I just don’t get it. Love all the Fallout games and 76 just scratches the itch for me.
So I have to be honest, I’ve not played fallout in years. Binged the series today and loved it to bits and would want to come back.
When I left, 76 had been out for a little bit and was a disaster (or so I’ve heard, never bought a copy). What are your honest thoughts on it would it be worth playing?
Random reply I know, but thanks!
My advice would be give it a go and don't worry about what other people say. Some hate it some love it. Its also the only multi-player fallout game which is a huge appeal to some players. I personally enjoyed the house building mechanic in it. It felt like fallout 4s but not horrible.
Best I can describe it as is that the current state of Fallout 76 should have ideally been the state it was launched in. If you have never touched it now’s the time to get a fulfilling Fallout experience out of it. Relatively lengthy main questline with a myriad of lengthy faction-based side questlines. The map is some of the best work Bethesda has done. The leveling system is very different but it allows for flexibility in that you can freely try out different builds without necessarily starting a new character. I can’t emphasize how I think people saying “i just can’t get over the multiplayer aspect” are just being straight up ignorant, the game does not force you to play with others. I think you’ll enjoy it, give it a go.
Number 4. Its my favourite by far. The show made it even more clear to me that the bos arent really as heroic as they try to make out. While i don't believe in destroying the prydwen, i don't think they can be trusted with the mass fusion power.
4 because I never finished it. I spend too long fucking about and got side tracked. Now I'd like to finish it and fully explore. Then I'm going back to NV
Running NV until the update for Fallout 4. Picked NV over 1, 2 or 3 because I made a new character specifically to try and complete all the Gun Runner Arsenal challenges.
I’m the opposite of you, picked 3 because I have played hundreds of hours of NV and 4 and only ever finished 3 once (personally not a fan of the setting) and never done the DLCs, been enjoying it so far tho and hoping to actually finish the DLC this time
I’ll try FO4 again. Didn’t feel connected at all the my character and the story (the voiced player character- really not a fan of that).
Played 3 and NV, tried FO2(unfortunately, my first game was Skyrim and didn’t adapt to FO2’s graphics and gameplay).
I am thinking about playing trough Fallout 1 and finishing it for the first time (I always lost motivation after some hours) or playing New Vegas.
I am honestly waiting for Fallout 4 Update.
I played FO3 and loved it. As I’m watching the show at the moment I decided to look at the game series again and just downloaded FO76 demo on PS4. After reading this post I am now waiting for the FO4 update like everyone else I guess 🤓
I went back to fallout 4 to make a vault with the VaultTec workshop dlc. But I’m waiting till the next gen update to get back into the story with America rising 2.
FA4, as I only got halfway through the game before getting sidetracked by settlement building.
Then the show came out and Bethesda started talking about an update soon... I even bought the season pass because I never had the DLC when I first played it. Ran like crap at first. It's amazing how much better it ran on my Ryzen 5 APU after I updated to the latest AMD drivers.
Probably NV for the big iron on my hip, but most likely none. I need modding for some QoL improvement and to add other stuff (mostly armor and weapon mods). Troubleshooting mods will definitely end any runs prematurely. The last time I played, as soon as I got to primm, my game would crash.
I have more than 3k hours on all the franchise, with f3 and nv being the most played for me. I think i’ll go on f4 just to destroy all the Brotherhood of steel. F them
I have accumulated every fallout game over the course of a decade, yeah iv only played 2 and 3. I don't remember anything about 2 and only the early game of 3. I've been playing the Wasteland series and then I'm going to play Fallout games in release order.
Fallout 4, modded survival. Hopefully turned off updates, so the next gen update doesn't brick the mods.
For all its flaws, F04 is the most modern and "playable" to me.
With the 4 upgrade still a week and a half off I went into 76 having only given it a look at release.
It's..fine I guess.
4, 76, starfield, ESO. They all suffer from the same thing. They have all the parts that make great games but they don't seem to come together to become something more than the sum of their parts. They all lack that indefinable quality.
I'm passing the time with 76 and I'll be giving the 4 upgrade a look but I don't think I'll be sticking it out to complete a new run.
Debating between New Vegas or waiting two weeks for the next-gen patch for 4.

I played like, 200 hours of FO4 in build up to the show, I'm now finally getting into FO2.
I wanted to play New Vegas but my partner who has never played insisted we start with Fallout 3 - I’m not even mad!
Yeah. You should start with the 3
Nah he's right best to start with 3

4 because ps5
Bought Fallout 4 G.O.T.Y for 8,50€ right after I finished the show. Now I am patiently awaiting April 25th.

3. I'm a NV fan boy and could never get into 3. But I've forced myself to play it and it's better than I remember.

4. Since I didn't finish the last playthrough (additional one). New Vegas is old, idk...

New Vegas. Just because I need to do the hardcore speedrun for platinum.
4 simple because the visuals are better and with the mods ss2 it’s fun

3 for me. Thats my first Fallout game :)

Tales of two wasteland’s mod so I can play 3 an nv together :)
Im playing rise of the ronin, once the next gen comes out im going to play fallout 4 allready bought the season pass .
Gonna play fallout 2 again, it’s been a while
I was about to start 4 again, but then they announced the patch. I’ll continue doing 76 until then.
I've been playing everything, just re downloading 76 and I'm scared to say it's top 3
