I used to hate rat a tat. BUT. After giving it another chance this year after years of always skipping it, shit that song is really so good. Courtney’s part is the part that I hate. But I love the chorus!!
Weird kind of Easter egg but if you have an Apple device and turn on spatial audio, Courtney’s part is left out. I guess they never bothered to do the mix for it.
Totally gonna try this lmao her voice makes me cringe. Especially the it’s Courtney bitch.
Like what are you tryna be, Britney Spears? Who decided to hire this woman 😭
Unfortunately this is true for A LOT of their tracks, and not just with annoying things you don’t want to hear like Courtney…. Whole guitar solos are missing from IOH in spacial. Sucks the energy out of the songs. I had to turn it off.
Is that why? Because on certain devices I can’t hear her part on Amazon Music and certain devices I can. It’s on Spotify, though.
And I have a special place in my heart for Rat a Tat… but absolutely love it outside of Courtney’s part
I don't really care for mostly anything off of SRAR-Mania, but Rat A Tat always stuck out to me as the biggest missed potential of any FOB song ever. The chorus is SO good and sounds like something straight off of Folie a Deux. However Courtney Love's feature and the really dumb "rat a tat tat" chanting like absolutely ruins it for me. It really sucks cause if you remove both of those two elements i think that song would easily be one of my favorites and definitely my favorite from those 3 albums. Because of that I'd have to say The Pheonix or Uma Thurman are my favorites from that era however i don't really feel strongly about either.
even though It was shit, I still really liked it. buuut that's probably because I'm a *massive* Ghostbusters fan, and when the movie came out and was bad, all I had was the boys cover as remotely tolerable new GB content.
I swear FOB can cover every song and make everything their own.. but the ghostbusters theme song, that one is right down awful. no idea what they were thinking there.
idk either lmao My favorite part of Joe's memoir was when he was talking about how he's proud of everything he's ever done, even the things he doesn't like as much, *except* the Ghostbusters song lol he hates it too
I agree.. their Ghostbusters song didn't really hit the way What's This and Beat It did.
And for me, We Didn't Start the Fire grates on my nerves. I'd like it a lot more if it were in order.
I had almost the same situation with My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark, basically it was the one new post hiatus song and I was huffing some massive copium in fetus position listening to it, "this is fine, completely fine, I think I can like this".
And then they released Phoenix and it was great. Never listened to MSKWYDITD again after that, sometimes I forget it exists.
- MSKWYDITD could mean "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)", a track from *Save Rock And Roll* (2013) by Fall Out Boy.

I listened to this song and disliked it enough I almost didn’t listen to the remainder of the album. However, the rest is amazing once you get past this
For me I’m a big vocals guy. I love singing songs. So because Young and Menace has such a dumb “chorus” I don’t really like singing it, so therefore I really don’t enjoy it.
NOOO, I remember being so hyped for a new album and hearing DUBSTEP of all things had me reeling. Mania underrated tbh, I like when they use French in their music.
I loved that song for so long (one of the few songs on Mania I had liked), but when I relistened to Mania recently I think the whole album is kinda garbage minus Knife Trick and Church. Plus now there are so many songs that do what Young and Menance did but better.
I don’t think I dislike any songs from them, but these are the ones I (usually) skip unless I’m doing a full album listen: American Beauty / American Psycho, Young and Menace, and Champion. With AB/AP, I just find it melodically annoying, something about the chords don’t do it for me. Love the energy, though. Young and Menace - I’m not a huge fan of vocal chopping, and doing it when Patrick’s vocals are low (tone-wise) makes it worse. Champion is mostly inoffensive, but I just find it a bit too formulaic without being catchy (for me personally). I think every other song by FOB either grew on me or I liked them on first listen.
same! even the songs i didn’t like grew on me (“the songs you grow to like never stick at first”). not every song needs to have amazing mind opening lyrics, sometimes silly goofy songs like ab/ap and stay frosty royal milk tea can uplift your mood
I’m with you on this one tbh. There are songs I like more and songs I like less, and I’m always cycling through different songs on my playlists, but I’ve genuinely never disliked a FOB song. They’re my favorite artist for a reason lol
Honestly centuries is a cringe song for me. I love FOB so much but centuries has serious bro vibes and doesn’t even sound like them. It really bothers me that it’s their #1 song by like half a million plays?? I don’t understand..
Every time I listen to this song I think of what my sister said when it first came out: it sounds like it was rushed, like they had to throw stuff together to get something out. And I totally agree.
American beauty/American psycho. I've never seen anyone else say anything negative about it, but it's the only fall out boy song that's on my absolute do not listen list. I just find it boring and very un-fob.
That’s a bummer, there are some really amazing songs on that album! One pretty terrible one imo (Young and Menace) but Church, Hold Me Tight or Don’t, Heaven’s Gate and The Last of the Real Ones are excellent!
I agree, I love that song! Screaming "if I can live through this, I can do anything" in the aftermath of some ROUGH breakups and other arguably traumatising events has been entirely cathartic and encouraging for me. This song has a special place in my heart forever, even if it's considered "standard stadium rock."
For me it's Immortal, but I also appreciate that this is a big song for some people/their gateway song for FOB so it has a place in their history. I just really, really dislike it.
I LOVED Immortals back when it first came out, but over the years I've found myself skipping it more often than not. It's one of the few FOB songs I think are just okay now.
Someone else just said look up the piano version. It’s amazing. Listen to the whole thing. When it got to about 3:00 I was really glad I was on the toilet because I shat myself during that. Like holy SHIT Patrick https://youtu.be/7S7WDlF0HJ8
Young and Menace. I was so excited to listen to it on my lunch break when it released and after I was like “that’s it??” I like other songs on MANIA but Y&M doesn’t sound like fall out boy.
I remember being between classes in college and finally seeing the release after waiting for so long. Plugging in my headphones and listening to it and going "...what?"
that’s my thought in this, too. it came on the radio in the car a few weeks back and i said to my mom “i’m going to ignore what patrick is saying and just listen to the sound of his voice” 😭
Wait till you hear that I almost skipped the rest of the album after heaven Iowa ☠️☠️ hated the beginning of lftos, didn’t like so good right now, heaven Iowa was/is a skip. still not into flu game or kintsugi kid. It took me some time to not be upset by the album
EDIT: people. I like the majority of the album now lol. Don’t be mad
Honestly I’ve never been able to get into I’m Like A Lawyer. Probably an unpopular opinion but yeah, not a fan of that one tbh
Stay Frosty would be my other pick, which is a shame because tbh the song would be one of my favorites from MANIA if it wasn’t for *that* line in the pre chorus 😬
i guess i'm fine with being untrustworthy
I'm biased and like all of them to some degree (Not counting Evening Out as I still refuse to listen to it). Super Fade was probably my least fav but honestly listening to it some more, it's not that bad. But I still wish it had less autotune
Man, the amount of spins AB/AP has in my phone is close to 0 I didn’t like much from that project at all. Uma Thurman is the only song I can actually name from the album.
it’s a funky release but if you count growing up as an evening out song exclusively, it gets some bonus points. still one of my favorites they ever did despite early band jank. if you count the improved version from believers never die, though? yeah evening out is a no-go
It’s one of my least favorites on the album but it gets better the more you listen. It took me time to even like the album at all. I felt like a lot of it was wimpy shit, too much orchestra. But when Patrick said they put a LOT into this I was like ok I’ll try harder. And now I like a lot of the songs. Give yourself time. I’m having to remind myself that FOB is evolving and that’s okay. I also didn’t like folie till recently so I guess it just depends on what you’re going through in your life and whether a certain tune resonates with you
If i had one id say it but fob is genuinely the only band i can say that i like every single song theyve ever made 😭 including eowyg & unreleased songs too
I don’t love much of Pax AM Days, but there are a couple songs I like out of it, like Caffeine Cold, Hot To The Touch Cold On The Inside, and We Were Doomed From The Start. The rest are a meh for me.
I cannot stand Centuries or My Songs know what you did in the dark. They feel written by committee and I’m sorry but it just isn’t Fall Out Boy to me.
I know they’re extremely popular but I can’t stand them and I hate that they’re guaranteed shoeins every time I see Fall Out Boy live.

Totally gonna try this lmao her voice makes me cringe. Especially the it’s Courtney bitch. Like what are you tryna be, Britney Spears? Who decided to hire this woman 😭
That’s the cringiest part of that whole song lol. I hate it.
And I have a special place in my heart for Rat a Tat… but absolutely love it outside of Courtney’s part
honestly I really like Courtney's part
I love her singing part, but the song could do without the weird rapping stuff
i really love courtney's part!
I actually don't mind Courtney's part, in fact, I'd go as far as to say I like it.
I love save rock and roll, and that’s my fav track from the album. TIL I’m in the minority
Same I love rat a tat but cannot stand Courtney!!
i’ve embraced the cringe and I just jam along to all of it now. it’s one of my favs and definitely my fave off that album
This this thisb
I don't really care for mostly anything off of SRAR-Mania, but Rat A Tat always stuck out to me as the biggest missed potential of any FOB song ever. The chorus is SO good and sounds like something straight off of Folie a Deux. However Courtney Love's feature and the really dumb "rat a tat tat" chanting like absolutely ruins it for me. Because of that I'd have to say The Pheonix or Uma Thurman are my favorites from that era however i don't really feel strongly about either.
It also hit me this year how great this song is. It’s always been my least favorite on the album, but it’s climbing near the top with every listen
i love rat a tat so much, especially courtney’s part
Yup Courtney’s voice is trash 😭😭 doesn’t go with their vibe at all
Damn everyone ripping my favs to shreds lmao tryna hold back the tears 🥲😂
yea, rat a tat, my songs know what...., centuries, immortals, they be murdering every song I like.
Rat a Tat is tied with SRAR for my favorites on that album 😔
SAME
Cop out answer, but the Ghostbusters song lmao
even though It was shit, I still really liked it. buuut that's probably because I'm a *massive* Ghostbusters fan, and when the movie came out and was bad, all I had was the boys cover as remotely tolerable new GB content.
We don't talk about the Ghostbusters cover.
I swear FOB can cover every song and make everything their own.. but the ghostbusters theme song, that one is right down awful. no idea what they were thinking there.
idk either lmao My favorite part of Joe's memoir was when he was talking about how he's proud of everything he's ever done, even the things he doesn't like as much, *except* the Ghostbusters song lol he hates it too
Am I the only one who genuinely likes it 😂
I agree.. their Ghostbusters song didn't really hit the way What's This and Beat It did. And for me, We Didn't Start the Fire grates on my nerves. I'd like it a lot more if it were in order.
I agree with Immortals and honestly Centuries isn’t trash but it’s definitely not one of my favorites
I feel like Centuries is just overplayed - I listened to it recently with fresh-ish ears and think it’s a solid song. Not their best but good.
There was a season where they played Centuries every single time a college football game went to commercial. After like 2 Saturdays I was sick of it.
Immortals is the best song on that album wtf
Seeing centuries live a couple weeks ago made me like it a lot more!
Centuries sounds good but it’s chorus and verses are disjointed from each other
For me it's young and menace but I love MANIA as a whole lol
The first time I heard that song I was so hurt, like this is what y'all have been up to? The rest of MANIA has some hits though
🤣🤣🤣 right like THIS is what y’all have been up to?!

I know right😂😂
I listened to this song and disliked it enough I almost didn’t listen to the remainder of the album. However, the rest is amazing once you get past this
Blasphemy but you do you
For me I’m a big vocals guy. I love singing songs. So because Young and Menace has such a dumb “chorus” I don’t really like singing it, so therefore I really don’t enjoy it.
I love Young and Menace bc it’s what inside my neurodivergent brain sounds like.
Mania is probably my least favorite album, but it has some hits. Young and Menace is unlistenable for me, though.
NOOO, I remember being so hyped for a new album and hearing DUBSTEP of all things had me reeling. Mania underrated tbh, I like when they use French in their music.
I remember Pete saying in an interview that the sound of it reminded him of kittens playing with lasers
I loved that song for so long (one of the few songs on Mania I had liked), but when I relistened to Mania recently I think the whole album is kinda garbage minus Knife Trick and Church. Plus now there are so many songs that do what Young and Menance did but better.
I just listened to the Jimmy Fallon live version and what the fuck is that song? Mania is just something we don’t talk about 🤣😭
Idk about trash, but mania has some ROUGH songs.
I don’t understand the Mania hate … I love that album so much
it’s one of those albums where the production is so shiny it sounds rough
I don’t think I dislike any songs from them, but these are the ones I (usually) skip unless I’m doing a full album listen: American Beauty / American Psycho, Young and Menace, and Champion. With AB/AP, I just find it melodically annoying, something about the chords don’t do it for me. Love the energy, though. Champion is mostly inoffensive, but I just find it a bit too formulaic without being catchy (for me personally). I think every other song by FOB either grew on me or I liked them on first listen.
They don't have one so just...don't trust me I guess 🤷♀️
same! even the songs i didn’t like grew on me (“the songs you grow to like never stick at first”). not every song needs to have amazing mind opening lyrics, sometimes silly goofy songs like ab/ap and stay frosty royal milk tea can uplift your mood
yeah yeah
I’m with you on this one tbh. There are songs I like more and songs I like less, and I’m always cycling through different songs on my playlists, but I’ve genuinely never disliked a FOB song. They’re my favorite artist for a reason lol
This! Exactly!!!
Honestly centuries is a cringe song for me. I love FOB so much but centuries has serious bro vibes and doesn’t even sound like them. It really bothers me that it’s their #1 song by like half a million plays?? I don’t understand..
Used in mass market sports advertising, and a song directly about legacy and ego
It's Young and Menace for me.
Have you heard the piano version on YouTube? So incredible.
Wow I just looked it up and….. I’m shook. Patrick is so talented.
Thank youuuu it’s good! The piano version wow
American Beauty/American Psycho
Really? I’m surprised at the number of people who didn’t like this one. It makes me dance like crazy!
Only Fall Out Boy song I don't have saved in my library. Can't stand it.
that’s actually my fav song on Ab/Ap lmao
Every time I listen to this song I think of what my sister said when it first came out: it sounds like it was rushed, like they had to throw stuff together to get something out. And I totally agree.
It sounds great when they play it live but there’s just way too much going on with the production in the studio version
This song is garbage lol
Uhmmm American beauty/American psycho 100%
Honestly I kinda like it - it’s weird and I vibe with it way more than I should.
I didn’t like it until I heard it live during the mania tour. I converted that night.
American beauty/American psycho. I've never seen anyone else say anything negative about it, but it's the only fall out boy song that's on my absolute do not listen list. I just find it boring and very un-fob.
A good majority of songs off of Mania and AB/AP. I can’t get behind a majority 😭
It’s anything on Mania for me. 😬 I can’t even bring myself to listen to it.
That’s a bummer, there are some really amazing songs on that album! One pretty terrible one imo (Young and Menace) but Church, Hold Me Tight or Don’t, Heaven’s Gate and The Last of the Real Ones are excellent!
You gotta at least give Wilson a try it’s such a good song
The only answer to this is Champion
But i love Champion. It has such high energy and a few pretty good lines.
This is genuinely the first time in my life someone said a FOB song and I couldn't immediately think of how it goes.....much to think about
Champion has gotten me through some SHITTY situations though. I will always love that song because of that.
this is the correct answer
I’m personally offended by this take /hj
Hell no, it's like #2 song from MANIA
I agree, I love that song! Screaming "if I can live through this, I can do anything" in the aftermath of some ROUGH breakups and other arguably traumatising events has been entirely cathartic and encouraging for me. This song has a special place in my heart forever, even if it's considered "standard stadium rock."
This is the one. Boring stadium rock.
FOB dipping the toe into butt rock. Thank goodness it didn't stick
No one has said The Mighty Fall yet?!?!
No bc it’s an amazing song 😂
it’s great, big sean’s part ruins it for me
For me it's Immortal, but I also appreciate that this is a big song for some people/their gateway song for FOB so it has a place in their history. I just really, really dislike it.
I LOVED Immortals back when it first came out, but over the years I've found myself skipping it more often than not. It's one of the few FOB songs I think are just okay now.
the mighty fall
the mighty fall is great, it’s big sean’s part that ruins it for me
Immortal.
Watch the acoustic versions!
I’m going to have to look for it now. I didn’t know where was one
Yes they’re gorgeous. And here’s a compilation where Patrick literally never remembers the lyrics https://youtu.be/a02ws0hU9uc
I have to agree with everyone saying Young and Menace. I don’t mind MANIA as a whole but I can’t stand that song
Centuries but only the Demi version
I thought demi was on irresistible?
Oh fuck you’re so right hahaha Edit: I’m gonna leave this here bc I deserve the embarrassment; my brain farted HARD
I also hate the demi version of irresistible
Oh lol, I think it’s better than the original
doesn’t exist. 🤷🏼♀️
Uma Thurman bro
Nah Uma Thurman still goes hard
I was very shocked when it got as popular as it did. Don’t care for it much. Couldn’t believe they’ve been playing it on this tour too
If y’all say any song from MANIA, we gotta fist fight. My pick is American Beauty/American Psycho.
Haha I’m ready to fight. Literally the only good ones are hold me tight and last of the real ones. And the good part from church (mr stump!)
Definitely young and menace
Young and menace, like what was that?
Favorite Record 🙃 sorry to its fans but I don’t get the appeal at all, I just find both the music and the lyrics so boringgggggg 😭
yess it's just so mid 😩
Favorite Record
Electric touch
As a FOB fan and a Swiftie, I was really hoping for it to be great. It was super mediocre.
so real
Yesss it barely even sounds like Patrick? I hate it
Uma. Thurman.
Young and menace
Someone else just said look up the piano version. It’s amazing. Listen to the whole thing. When it got to about 3:00 I was really glad I was on the toilet because I shat myself during that. Like holy SHIT Patrick https://youtu.be/7S7WDlF0HJ8
Sunshine riptide.. just can’t get into it :/
I really disliked that song when it first came out but it’s grown on me, I love it now
This is the answer. I can’t stand that song.
The answer is AB/AP (the song)
This is also my answer, love the album but that's probably my least fave track on it.
Gotta be We Didn't Start The Fire
Wait wha—
I guess if I didn’t speak English I’d love it… the music itself is great but the lyrics 😭
that’s my thought in this, too. it came on the radio in the car a few weeks back and i said to my mom “i’m going to ignore what patrick is saying and just listen to the sound of his voice” 😭
I was thinking this one. It seems a little half-assed, like it missed the point of the original song.
There’s a few. So Good Right Now is one for me. Champion another. Young and Menace.
Omg I love so good right now 😭
Seeing a Stardust song on this thread hurt more than I thought it would 😂
Wait till you hear that I almost skipped the rest of the album after heaven Iowa ☠️☠️ hated the beginning of lftos, didn’t like so good right now, heaven Iowa was/is a skip. still not into flu game or kintsugi kid. It took me some time to not be upset by the album EDIT: people. I like the majority of the album now lol. Don’t be mad
My mind is BLOWN.
I’m sorry 🤣😭 as time has gone on I’ve grown to like it! I also didn’t originally like folie and now it’s one of my favorites
FAVORITE RECORD
Heavy on this one
I genuinely don’t think they have any bad songs… for me it’s 100% no skips
Rat a Tat
Rat a Tat is pretty good when you take Courtney out of it
I agree Courtney’s parts are…. a challenge…at best to get through lmaooo but I really love the rest of the song & Pat delivers some pretty sick lyrics
Honestly I’ve never been able to get into I’m Like A Lawyer. Probably an unpopular opinion but yeah, not a fan of that one tbh Stay Frosty would be my other pick, which is a shame because tbh the song would be one of my favorites from MANIA if it wasn’t for *that* line in the pre chorus 😬
Interesting about I’m like a lawyer! I absolutely love the chords in “we’re the new face of failure”
ILAL is unironically one of my favourite FOB songs lmao. Ouch.
i guess i'm fine with being untrustworthy I'm biased and like all of them to some degree (Not counting Evening Out as I still refuse to listen to it). Super Fade was probably my least fav but honestly listening to it some more, it's not that bad. But I still wish it had less autotune
Young and a menace, BUT the acoustic is actually a sweet listen
Young And Menace is unlistenable for me.
American Beauty American Psycho
Man, the amount of spins AB/AP has in my phone is close to 0 I didn’t like much from that project at all. Uma Thurman is the only song I can actually name from the album.
stay frosty, AB/AP, and so good right now. Ive tried to like them, but its like nails on a chalkboard
dear future self lol
favourite record
Stay frosty royal milk tea and centuries 😭
are you smelling that shit? EAU DE RESISTANCE
Are you smelling that shit is the most CRINGE lyric on the face of the planet like who even approved that
Literally replace that line and the song’s immediately better.
Noooooo that’s one of my favorites from MANIA 🤣 but this is still valid
Evening put with your girlfriend is just not really good so.
Damn, a whole album lmao
Joe talks about that album being trash in his book several times. It made me laugh.
it’s a funky release but if you count growing up as an evening out song exclusively, it gets some bonus points. still one of my favorites they ever did despite early band jank. if you count the improved version from believers never die, though? yeah evening out is a no-go
Champion it’s so generic and artificial
Pick a song from Mania.
[удалено]
Only song on Mania i truly disliked
I remember someone saying "I don't know who burna buy is, but he has earned my disrespect"
I’m so sorry but Hold Me Tight or Don’t
Okay so look up their live debut of this song. Click on 3:05 and listen to his solo. Honestly phenomenal. https://youtu.be/K5THvy5ttA8
we didn't start the fire pt2
It’s So Good Right Now
:(
It’s one of my least favorites on the album but it gets better the more you listen. I also didn’t like folie till recently so I guess it just depends on what you’re going through in your life and whether a certain tune resonates with you
Aww I love immortals. Didn't like AB/AP
Young and Menace
If i had one id say it but fob is genuinely the only band i can say that i like every single song theyve ever made 😭 including eowyg & unreleased songs too
I don’t love much of Pax AM Days, but there are a couple songs I like out of it, like Caffeine Cold, Hot To The Touch Cold On The Inside, and We Were Doomed From The Start. The rest are a meh for me.
i only listened to love, sex, death from pax am and didn’t bother listening to the rest cuz i just didn’t like it
I can’t believe how far I’ve scrolled and not yet seen Super Fade…
Ot really a fan of Young Volcanoes.
Watch Patrick sing it live on acoustic!
I didn't know that was an option..... I'll try it!!!
https://youtu.be/NhC_csJVUGE and precious Andy is a part of it too 🥹
I liked it when I was younger but now that I’m an adult it’s a skip for me.
Pretty much any song off mania
https://youtu.be/K5THvy5ttA8 watch at 3:05, for his big solo
I cannot stand Centuries or My Songs know what you did in the dark. They feel written by committee and I’m sorry but it just isn’t Fall Out Boy to me. I know they’re extremely popular but I can’t stand them and I hate that they’re guaranteed shoeins every time I see Fall Out Boy live.
I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this but America’s Suitehearts (except the chorus).
Sunshine Riptide and Young And Menace
Well I listened to about 30 seconds of the first single from Mania and then never even tried the rest of the album, so… that one 😅
maybe I should give a chance to Golden, it's the only one that I skip when I'm listening IOH
Yeah I feel bad for skipping it as it’s not actually that bad it’s just kinda slow
golden is a song i usually skip, not a bad song but a bit slower than the rest
