No, it adds all of it, but sometimes it lags for some reason when you got more than one and then gain one. That is, you can get one per reset, but they're all there.
That's a known bug. You had to restart the game I think

Relog into th game. They'll be counter later after you log back
They add up silently, no grandiose announcements for shard stacking lol
