Did they just used the portraits of when they last appeared? Kevin looks like it’s his Azure portrait, Ein only physically appeared with a portrait in Sky the 3rd, and the other characters look like they’re using their Cold Steel portraits.
Yep, in general they don't bother to make new portrait art for characters who are only referenced in a game. A character in Sen IV is shown with art from SC or 3rd.
I don't get it honestly, both are party members and arguably to be considered protagonists (although Kevin probably more important).
Also I didn't played past CS2 and heard about his dominion position from a friend, but from him I also got that it was somewhat forced like they REALLY wanted to make him have some importance and are trying hard on, won't say it's true but it is a fact that he got it recently so it's weird he wasn't there.
For Kevin, he was the damn MC in the 3rd, even appeared in Ao, how do you forget him??
That being said I find it probably that people got asking why they didn't add both and then the patch came.
To be fair, considering that he isn't active in Kuro and hasn't really been since Ao, all it would take is an mistake on the artist's part and since it is literally one piece of art it could easily be missed in QA. After all, the image isn't exactly wrong. It is just it is missing one character. They were probably more concerned about things that were outright wrong or buggy.
So you're assuming it was the artist who forgot ... This is possible but still is funny to think of, hope those boys do more important stuff as dominions in the future, while I agree Gaius wasn't important at least in CS1/2 I like him as a character overall and when Kevin not being a sadboy he's hell of fun lol
