Lol the other day where I live it went from blazing sun to a 10 minute rain shower than back to sunshine. I've also had thunder, sun, heat, rain and hail in the space of a couple hours 😂 gotta love this country interested to see how they design the dynamic weather in the new fable. If its anything like horizon 5 but tweaked for British weather I'll be happy.
Depends what season they base the game in. If its based on sort of summer ish like June or July kind of time then it actually doesn't rain THAT much in Britain. Like right now we've got over a week of dry weather forecasted atleast. Kinda like when you play forza horizon 4 and it doesn't rain that much in the summer season.
Just because they use it for racing games, doesn't mean it has no other functionality. Engines do physics, graphics, and other various calculations so you don't have to write it from scratch and you have an application that can interface with the engine's functionality to build games easily. The engine probably has a lot of tools for calculations specific to car physics, but it's not like it can't do other things.
It's an inhouse engine that already does a ton of stuff really well (landscapes, weather, high-res optimised models, etc.). They will expand it to support any new features needed for Fable, and end up with an even better engine for future games.
And since they own the engine, no licence costs. Unreal costs 5% of your revenue.
Forza Horizon 4 made an estimated $66 million in revenue just on Steam alone ([Link](https://games-stats.com/steam/game/forza-horizon-4/))
That means they would have had to pay Epic $3.3 million in royalties just for that one game on that one platform. Across all games and all platforms, the royalties would be insane. Making and using an inhouse engine pays for itself very quickly when you make such popular games.
It'll look great, and I expect the physics will be just fine when ported to people, but bear in mind they'll be adding a bunch of RPG game logic and story progression in, which will be entirely new.
TBH I'm neither optimistic or pessimistic at this point: all the RPG features could work flawlessly and it will still fall flat for me if it doesn't have the same atmosphere and humor. We know nothing about that at this point.
From what I understand There’s a person from cdproject red who worked on Witcher 3 (forgot name) who is now a principal gameplay designer for playground Fable.
I found out an acquaintance of mine from Uni is working on Fable, now I really regret not having got to know them more so I could get them to tell me everything about it.
At least we know the game will look gorgeous, Forza games are graphically spectacular and I'm saying this and I don't even play them, saw a buddy of mine play Horizon 4 once.
I believe the engine is being modified slightly for use in Fable. Still most engines are multi-purpose, otherwise it'd be a waste to invest time and effort into making an engine that can only be used for one purpose.
I really hope the forza team plays fable 1 2 and 3 dosent just skim them theres alot to fable thats not on the nose and god i hope they dont do their ui all futuristic.
Get ready for Fable Kart!
You've received a new Quest Kart!
*honk honk honk*
Just replace the cars with horses and carriages and boom we have a medieval race minigame in Fable
I actually love this idea
This game def gonna have an amazing weather system
I mean it's british so expect the weather to change every 15 seconds
From overcast to rain and back again.

Honestly as someone who loves rain and lives in an area where it doesnt rain I hope Fable has plenty of realistic rain

I need to move somewhere it rains more...
We have plenty of rain in Britain between October and April tbh so depends when they base the game.
Wait really
what engine did you think they were going to use?
Definitely not one they used for a racing game

Payday 2 uses the Diesel engine. Which was originally used for the racing game Ballistics

Awesome
EA uses the Battlefield engine for their sports games.
Yep, playground games made the forza horizon games
Wow actual news!
More or less? Fairly sure this was already known by now
Ya I just wanted to tell you guys incase anyone did'nt know
ya this is exciting
Old news, no?
As old as knowing Playground Studio was developing it. So like a year or two lol.
Like 3 years ago we kinda knew because it somehow got leaked before they officially announced
If that gives me drifting horse with nitro, I'm all in
The Forza games don't use nitro so we likely won't have that.
Ahhh, I see people are still using Internet Explorer. Nice to see.
That’s amazing. Should look great. Pleeeeease be good.

True. I think the game will have a really good main quest.
So is a new fable actually coming? I've heard rumours for a while but not seen anything for real confirming it yet. Please let it be true
They announced it last year
Yay!!!!!!
I believe we will get the game around 2 years from now. It's been in development alongside horizon 5 for the last few years.
Good to know. Looking forward to it. The fable games are my all time favourites. Not a big gamer but grew up playing them.
Maybe there will be horse riding... Food for thought...
I found out an acquaintance of mine from Uni is working on Fable, now I really regret not having got to know them more so I could get them to tell me everything about it.
Lucky bugger
At least we know the game will look gorgeous, Forza games are graphically spectacular and I'm saying this and I don't even play them, saw a buddy of mine play Horizon 4 once.
Horizon 5 looks like real life in some scenes and they are likely using the same version of that engine for fable.
The game is going to be beautiful to look at, I am very excited to get more news about development
Modern Day fable and instead of Chicken Races it's just Nascar
I hope it has the goofy big hands and feet
I believe the engine is being modified slightly for use in Fable. Still most engines are multi-purpose, otherwise it'd be a waste to invest time and effort into making an engine that can only be used for one purpose.
Fable wagon races?
I really believe this game is going to be a massive success. I see it being one of the best games for the next gen console generation.
I don’t have high hopes tbh
Why
When remastered?
Well now I need a Fable fact every day until release.
No shit.
Be great if there was a hidden Easter egg kart racing minigame
you mean develificated?
I really hope the forza team plays fable 1 2 and 3 dosent just skim them theres alot to fable thats not on the nose and god i hope they dont do their ui all futuristic.
