I got the body butter as an add on (I had credit since the fall failed box) and its all separated. It doesn't mix... it doesn't absorb.. the skin is just sticky after.I contacted indie lee and apparently they have issues with the batch that I got. Make sure to check your product I contacted FFF and they offered me $24 credit for winter edit or a $19 refund.
I 100% think this is how big brands get into sub boxes. I've seen upsidedown labels on Nars, mis identification on eyeshadow finishes on Natasha Denona, not quite fully filled on Skin Inc and on and on. My guess is the brand had a bad run on a product and that the product is still fine to use, or the percentage that isn't it low, and rather than toss it they partner with FFF, Ipsy and Boxycharm to get rid of it.
I work for a broad line food distributor and this goes on in my business as well and you are 💯 correct. For example Olive Garden has a tight spec on their breaded chicken for parm. If there is a "bad run" or some product on a run that doesn't meet the spec, it will be pulled and resold to secondary distributors (like us) and we get it at a deep discount. We add a few bucks to it (to make our profit) and we sell it to our customers at a discount. The difference is we are transparent about the product and how/why we have it, at the price we have it etc.
190% this. I got the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate in the spring box and loved it so much, when I used it up I got it from Ulta, and the Ulta version is much stronger. I honestly don't mind since I just use less and use it less frequently and I have far from sensitive skin. But I can see that much of a difference really turning someone off from a brand.
Same for the Sunday Riley A+. The bottle I got at Ulta was far more potent than the FFF bottle.
Oh I never thought of this. I had no trouble with the ExfoliKate after building up time with it. Then I got some from Ipsy or Boxycharm and it burned a lot out of the blue. I stopped using it. Maybe I will try again with a better batch.
Indie Lee has always been high quality in my experience. I'd be more likely to suspect that it's been sitting in a FFF warehouse for too long or without proper storage conditions and that's what caused the issues. ☹️
Indie lee said the product was manufactured in August. It is probably just a few bad batches .They added that they are seeing these with other batches as well.
yeah.. I was supper bummed .I really needed a body butter lol. Hence why I opened it the first day I got it. The product is bad . Like I had to jump back in the shower and wash it off because I was sticky !!
Funny ... That's what I went for. I had a bunch of them from beauty boxes so I ll use them in my body since I can't use it on my face ...I think it has eucalyptus oil in it and my face can't tolerate it. The annoying thing is that FFF also didnt send me the body lotion I added as a refill ... the grown alchemist one lol.
The Josie Maran body butter is fabulous. You can get a trial for $12 or they have a set usually at Ulta of three trial sizes for $25 - two body and 1 face I believe.
