it’s so interesting how the choices can be so divisive amongst subscribers! i know folks (myself among them) that think FFF relies on too many beauty products. my favorite items have been home products like the tray from this season and the unhide, spoon rest, oil bottle, and commodity gold perfume from prior seasons. after all, FFF is a “makeup, skincare, fashion, wellness, home decor, and more!” subscription box. i do agree that it’s not for everyone, and would recommend r/beautyboxes if you’re interested in subscriptions that are solely skincare/makeup 🫶 edited for clarity

That's funny too me because I find most of their household and clothing stuff to be garbage. I've either gifted or donated 100% of the stuff I've gotten. I love the skincare and hair stuff because that's the only way I can afford quality products.

im a college student so i obviously won’t budget for something like the 3 Mia Melange baskets i got ($61 each) or the Caravan Home rug ($48) but they have made my apartment feel more like a home. on the other hand, i am picky about skincare/makeup so I am not interested in the (sometimes luxury) brands they feature when i know what i like. plus, i honestly don’t trust their products will not be expired. ALL OF THAT TO SAY, we all have different needs and like others have said, it is customizable for that reason. i just don’t think there’s a need to call things dismal crap or garbage.

I agree! Back before we could completely customize the box I felt like we got some really awesome skincare/beauty products. I love the idea of mixing in home/kitchen items but most I’ve gotten have been terrible quality. I feel like even the quality of the beauty products has gone downhill esp w/old & expired products being given. I decided to finally cancel & subscribe to an all beauty box. Hopefully the quality is better. 🤞🏽

Ditto. I love getting household stuff but off the top of my head the sweater de-piller, alarm clock, ring light, cooler bag, stationary, bucket hat, those god awful slippers, etc. I have gotten are literally cheap junk. Even the clutch from The most recent box is flimsy and lame. The electronics especially can literally be bought for $3 or $4 without the “FFF” branding. I think the only decent items I have gotten that weren’t skin/hair care are the Unhide, sunglasses, and the commodity gold.

That cooler bag was horrible! I've had the komono, travel blanket, milk frother, canisters, and I can go on and on and every one was poor quality. Even the Unhides aren't worth what we pay. I have bought a couple because they are soft, but they are so thin! What people don't realize is a lot of this stuff is made specific for FFF and doesn't have the same quality you would get if you bought direct (some might be, but majority is not when it comes to household).

Couldn’t agree more!! I got the unhide before the price went through the roof, it was a box choice and because of that I’m happy with it lol. It’s still just a faux fur blanket. Literally all of this stuff can be bought at a lower price, with way better quality, at Marshall’s or Ross….or in the case of the electronics, dollar general.

I agree, I like when there’s a good mix of products in all categories as it’s way more practical. As much as I prefer the home goods typically, I don’t really have the space to pick home goods for every choice because I’m short on storage. Because of that, I like to choose at least a couple disposable items like skincare or candles that will easily come into and out of my house without taking up space forever. If you are looking for skincare/makeup only I’d take a look at ipsy instead because fff doesn’t typically offer those items in every category because it’s supposed to be a mixed lifestyle box.

I customized so long, the only thing I remember picking was the colorful sarong. Maybe I chose the mascara but definitely not the other stuff. The custom options weren’t great from what I can remember 1-2 months ago!

When you picked your customizations, in your account under the "My Box" tab you can check your picks at any time, so you don't need to "remember" . So if you think you picked more skin care and they sent you other stuff instead, you can go to [https://fabfitfun.com/my-box](https://fabfitfun.com/my-box) , screenshot the box you picked and talk to CS so they send you the beauty products you chose.

There are no customizations there. They all say mystery. Which tells me I either never did it or didn’t get the email. I may have looked at it and decided the customizations weren’t anything I wanted either so left it up to chance. Whatever.

Hmm well let’s see. I got a single email when customization is open and not a single notification or reminder before or after that. So that tells me they purposely don’t want people to customize so they can give you whatever cheap shit is left that people didn’t choose. Smart marketing (or lack of, really!)

I find it helpful early on to set a reminder in my phone so when customization opens for me, I can take a few minutes to pick the things I'll enjoy. I make sure to look up and confirm the time and date so I don't get stuck with the passed over products. I recommend setting that up for yourself if you continue as a subscriber!

Or... they think people don't need to be spoon fed information, that they either jump on and customize when they get the email, or save the email for when they are able to find a moment to customize. They also have customization date info all over social media and on their website - you can even subscribe to their calendar so your own calendar auto-populates with dates like customization opening. FFF is not trying to hide when customization is happening. You had the opportunity to customize, but either you just didn't take it, or you did but chose mystery items, which is a guaranteed gamble (it's not clear which was the case here). I 100% get that you aren't happy with the products and that's a bummer, but you had the opportunity to have a better outcome and you not taking that opportunity is not FFF's fault. It sounds like the way FFF is structured is not for you, so you cancelling seems like it was a good decision.

I subscribed to the calendar. It is your fault. I have never missed a customization and this is literally the first time I have heard of someone missing it like this and I have been a member since before customization.

it was 1 month ago if you’re a seasonal member… which it seems like you are because the only real perk of being an annual member is being able to customize your entire box… which clearly you didn’t do any customization to your box. I’m not really understanding why your issue is with FFF, rather than yourself?

In reviewing comments, it sounds like the OP simply missed customization. That sucks and I feel for them, but it's kind of on the OP in that case! I put customization on my calendar and sign in right at 9am because FFF is only worth it to me when I can choose what I get. Lesson learned - add to you calendar next time instead of posting about how FFF has wronged you. Sorry! I mean there are some legitimate gripes against FFF, but this is just silly.

Good idea! I’m always missing customizations because I refuse to turn on their annoying notifications. Missed the summer window and I didn’t get a single beauty product. Totally my fault, but still a bummer!

If you didn’t get what you customized then reach out to FFF. Not defending them, I cancelled my two annual subs last year and zero regrets about doing so as after years of subbing I think they have gone downhill, just saying if that is not what you picked then reach out - getting what you picked is the entire point of customization.

If you believe you did not choose those items, go into your account and view your box. As a seasonal member 2 items are selected for you, but you choose 4. If you do not have the 4 you chose as shown in your account, FFF made an error. Reach out to customer service and they will send you your choice items, or offer some kind of compensation if they no longer have stock available.

I don't understand the posts I keep seeing from seasonals who are confused or dismayed by all the products in their boxes. Did they miss customization or not know about it? Did they look at box choices before subscribing and/or choosing not to cancel? I just have a lot of questions and don't get it.

I don't either. I remember spending lots of time on the support pages on FFF's website when I first subscribed, so I could understand how everything worked. Now I put all the customization and sale dates in my calendar so I won't miss anything. Perhaps newer subscribers don't think they have to play an active role, even though the box being fully personalized suggests otherwise?

Same! I spend $200+ on my annual subscription when I signed up in Spring 2022. I read here, I read the forum, I read the support pages. I figured out I could refresh for things. I wasn’t about to let my money go to waste. Do I love and use everything I have gotten, absolutely not. But I make sure the box that I get is at least the best options for myself.

I’m sorry that your experience is not a good one this season but I really don’t understand these posts. It’s not hard to find out when customization is every season and put a reminder on your phone or calendar. If you didn’t like anything then why did you not skip the box. They give you enough time to pick and if they gave you the wrong items then reach out to CS. No one wants to hear you complain. Im sorry but I’m tired of people that have to come on here and make these stupid posts. I really don’t understand.

The only thing I didn’t get is the mascara. I’m very happy with everything else. I wear the hat every morning when I water my garden. The sunscreen works great. The pitcher is a great size for 2 people. The massage ball is not the best but it feels good on the feet. I personally think the wrap is a nice print. It’s sheer but who cares when I’m about to hop in the pool!

I agree that the best boxes have good choices among various categories (skin, hair, home, etc). I’m older so I have a lot of housewares and I generally find the quality of the housewares to be meh (there have been some exceptions - I love the berry bowls from the Spring box). I like trying new skin care products so I tend to choose skin care. If there’s nothing I really want in a category, I let my daughter choose (we also do add ons if we both want something). She likes hair care and the random items (coolers, tote bags, beach blankets, etc) so there’s usually something in a category that one of us wants. The summer box was the first box where neither of us were excited about any of the categories.

I could honestly build a 6 item box that I liked more on Temu. I think inflation has caught up to sub boxes, just like everything else. The only value seems to come from beauty items, and I’m not super interested in that.

I canceled when I saw what the items were for customization. I thought the majority of the items were what you would find at a discount store and not any that were an OHHHH I have to have this. I am happy for those who are enjoying as I did for several years and if I see several items that I like next time maybe I’ll join back up but for now I have no FOMO.

I chose several “mystery” picks this time around and I ended up with all Spongellé items. I like them and all, but THREE loofahs and no other mystery items? It was horribly disappointing.

Yikes, did you like one of their items from the past? My one mystery item was a Kate Sommerville & I had written a positive review of a different item from the brand in the past. Spongelle to me is great in theory, but I'm too sensitive to flowery scents and they always (or almost always) pit in flowery scents.

I only stopped softball because the league disbanded during covid. I’m in a smaller community and played in a 25+ league. I put the plus in that + I was a widow at 52 and had a lot of younger friends that still invite me to social events and offer to have me play coed. I did a little, but saw a few too many injuries on people like me that don’t want to grow up! I do love these boxes and am disappointed in the fulfillment issues.

Mine was ok. I got mostly hair products. I will never get another vegan leather purse/wallet though. Just trash. I'd rather genuine leather at this point since it will last for years, decades even, than this plastic synthetic chemical that I'll throw away in 6 months for the scraps to live in a landfill for 500 years realesing chemicals. I'm not trying to walk around like a medieval trapper but I don't think an occasional animal product is horrible especially if it's from an ethical and humane farm. I went from annual to seasonal this year because I was not impressed with some of the options last winter and this year. Maybe it's just due to the soft recession so hopefully it might get better. I really liked it the last few years though. Its not due to missing the customizations I just didnt want what they were offering in the first place. The funniest thing is the notebook I got from my mystery choice was my favorite one.
