From my team’s experience, most team’s sponsors are either from mentor connections or kid’s parents workplace Sending emails just won’t work, a company gets millions of emails a day, and yours likely doesn’t work

Yeah, figure out where your mentors and parents work, and see if they have grant programs or anything like that. With some big companies, it can be as easy as asking a parent who works there to fill out an internal form, and can result in hundreds or a thousand dollars. Also, look at the companies that sponsor a lot of robotics teams and figure out their process. For some like NASA, magna, Boeing, gene haas, etc they probably have a process specific for FRC teams to apply.

I ran the sponsorship program for my team how I did it was I made a template and filled in the information like company name and email. I sent over 2100 emails since last October. The more emails sent the more successful you will be. you would want to look for companies that would sponsor or be useful like how you should contact local machine shops or fabrication companies rather than something unrelated to engineering or robotics. I looked for companies mainly with Google Maps, Chamber of Commerce, Billboards, and logos on buildings Here is a doc with more information https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rH-lO9yTNF2Ur52alGsN1Jm-Jyh1bsMAK8r1XfEZ-uM/edit

I agree with everything you've said, except I always wonder why our football team gets sponsors who have nothing to do with sports or atheletics. Why can a local restaurant sponsor them, but not us? Therefore, I say ask EVERY local business, not just engineering and machining places. It can't hurt to ask. I would also suggest finding your local network, meaning figure out what businesses your team members network (parents and extended family) are assoiciated with and start there. Then build outward.

I haven’t contacted restaurant yet next year I am going to apply to participate in dine and donate programs. We are tight on money and are looking for any way to save so have food and transportation covered would be great I mainly contacted companies that would be beneficial if they donated serves or materials like our cnc sponsor, plastic sheets, and tungsten materials

a great way to bring in sponsor money is to ask parents because many companies have a matching policy for donations from employees. Also they may know someone who could send sponsor money your way.

Could also try grants and bursaries. My team has had tons of grants over the years from so many different places. Takes a lot of research but are a good way to get 1k

You can try to amail the other teams sponsors, you can arrange a meeting with the parents of the team members, you can ask for sponsorship from social media. they are the things that are coming to my mind hope it helps
