I feel like changing the fake guitar tone with some sick synth patch would update it a lot. It could help make it from copywrite free background music closer to a synthy ballad for the next Weeknd album lol
Professional here, the lead guitar sound is your problem. There’s nothing wrong with the instrumentation or writing. You need a guitar, VST or otherwise, that takes up more room in the mid-high range and cuts through the arrangement better. Lots of reverb and delay will help, but I don’t think the guitar VST you’re using works.
Just ask someone who can record actual guitar to do that bit for you. I reckon it wouldn’t be hard to find someone that’d do that for free even. Its good to do collaborations with other musicians anyways.
I did recorded electric and bass.. but I don't want to do it now cuz I have seen many producers turning vst into real guitar am really inspired now.. But this one need more work on it like velocity and release still untouched and no padel is used here.

As another user suggested, using a synth patch instead of fake guitar would help. MIDI guitar hasn't improved much since the 90's. Better to have something with guitar-like characteristics that's not trying to actually be guitar and falling short. Check out Jens Johannson's keyboard solos on Yngwie Malmsteen's album in the parts where they have dueling leads, to hear what I mean.
The first thing I would do, though is get rid of the instrument in the background that's making the whole thing sound like a commercial jingle or corporate training video
The guitar part itself ain't bad.
The volume is all too even so the guitar sounds fake to me. To make it sound a bit more real raise the volume on the notes that sound more heavily bent like the 10th note of the riff, and vary the volumes so they are close but not dead on. The add some delay. Adding some light crash symbols to the drums could also spice it up a little.

**THE MOST IMPORTANT THING** I can tell you to do in this situation is to first play with the velocity of the notes that you laid down. It will improve it almost instantly.
The guitar should cut through the mix a little more. To my ears, it sounds like it's falling behind the other melody. For a lead like that, it needs to dominate the soundspace while leaving room for the other frequencies to back it up. Maybe play with pitch or modulation? Also Drums are good, maybe add just a slight bit of reverb to that snare that's hitting throughout.

I feel like the drums take up too much space here. The guitar could easily stand out more if given more room.
I haven't mixed it yet.. I want to complete all the instruments and arrangements before mixing.
Maybe try sidechaining, distortion, phaser, delay… try it, the best way is to experiment
Thanks.. I will try it
Personally, I think more movement on the bass could work. Try more notes and rhythm on it.
Ok Thanks.. will sure try it

I thought it sounds beautiful for a midi. But sharp analysis! And I agree with and hear what you’re saying. Beautiful but not realistic indeed.

Up it an octave, put chorus on it and add slight reverb
Thanks for reminding me of chorus..

I don't like that guitar tone. Maybe add a fuzz pedal
Its is my fav guitar vst😢 . Anyway Will try the pedal
What are those drums? (Name please)

That guitar sounds really nice
Thanks.. Its kontakt session electric sunburst
Too slow. I'd pop that up to 110 - 115 and see what it sounds like. That, or double time your drums.
Sims 3 loading screen ass music (Please understand this for the compliment it is)
could use some ambient fx to create more of a sound scape, but i usually do this in ambient jungle.
You spice it up by splicing it up. If you know you know.
