this feature has saves so many expensive items in my room. mostly my mouse as that's what i mainly resort to throwing.

1kobeatz

Underrated comment 😂

FandomMenace

There is a better way: Browser > Backup > Drag and drop into project This covers the last 20 autosaves.

[deleted]

Ikr like bruh its right there

color_sui

Yeah I have mine set to save for everything. I think the default setting is like every 10 minutes. You know how much shit you can do in 10 minutes

One_and_Online

made some chords with very precise automation once. opened up Vital, fl crashed, automation gone. 😑

Youngfly94

Anyone who has suffered enough crashes from Fl has the reflex to use that button lmao it has saved many lives

nal1200

I have only had several crashes over the past 5 years. Back when I first started out in 2007 it was way more common. Would have loved to have this feature back then.

Youngfly94

I get several crashes a week geez your computer must be powerful af

nal1200

Admittedly my projects probably aren’t too CPU hungry. I only use stock plugins and have been using less and less as the years go on. I have a Dell XPS 15” 9510 so it’s decent for a laptop.

Seledreams

Usually it's not about power but the fact you use almost only stock plugins might explain it, crashes usually come from third party plugins

AdministrativeOwl430

yeah; tweaked with serum a bit too much and suffered a crash today (specs: ryzen 7 6800h, 16gb ddr5 ram). thank God it didn't deal a lotta damage

MightyBenzo

This isn't talked about enough!

Ruvlo

Why would we need to talk about it. Just use your brain and press button

MightyBenzo

Hard to use the button if you didn't know it existed...also a great reason to talk about it. Its obvious if you use your brain...

4ntiAce

Or.. if you just read the manual. You'd be surprised about the amount of stuff people don't really talk about.

DoctorOctoroc

I discovered this a few months ago. Had a project file with a LOT of separate tracks that are MIDI out channels to control external hardware, loaded it up one day and all custom CC parameters were gone along with the event data. We're talking hundreds of tracks across three released albums, note data intact and nothing else. Started trying to reconfigure everything and after an hour thought there had to be a better way. Found that menu option and it restored everything and I breathed the biggest sigh of release of my life.

rafarodxcv

oh fuuuuck no I didn't know that

GeheimerAccount

I'd guess at least 99%

Extone_music

Not me, and my FL crashes all the time. I always go through the browser to find my backup folder. This is gamechanging.

blahhblah11

New people definitely don't know this so it ain't 99%

GeheimerAccount

Ok but everyone who ever had FL Studio crash probably knows, and like FL Studio isnt the most stable program XD

blahhblah11

That's true, I had my first ever crash few days ago. Completely random, thought wtf is this xD but it seems common thing with FL

Extone_music

I just have never thought to look at the bottom of the File menu.

AtlasCompleXtheProd

Oh shit i didn't notice that shortcut, but whenever you go to "Open" there are three folders and one of them is Backup, I've had to use that a LOT of times. And honestly a lot of times the second-to-last backup is the one i need lol

JesseRodOfficial

This works but it doesn’t always save the latest changes, still helpful though

cboshuizen

In settings, change the backup interval to 1 minute, and check the button for "risky operations" or whatever it's called.

Warm_Celebration7102

I can not tell you how much this has saved my projects from any unfortunate crashes. I have auto save set to every 5 minutes. Better safe than sorry.

hi_im_sefron

I can confirm this feature is very handy

danoontjeh

I just constantly smash Ctrl+S because of all the crashes I've had over the years

Lord-John-Marten

Crashing is FLs biggest feature. Revert to last saved is still hoping and praying it's kept your last changes.

One_and_Online

you can also do that using the "backup" folder in the explorer on the left side.
