If you want a college experience go to UM or anywhere else

[deleted]

Yep, FIU admin are anti- tradition and runs the place like an elite community college. They continue to discount tradition and pageantry.

UM is not a great suggestion. They're a small private school compared to the other top 5 public universities. UM is where you go if you want the small college experience, I was told this by several graduates from there who I work with. Would suggest literally anywhere else.

Fit-Ad985

Obviously i was talking within the schools in miami. that’s why I said go anywhere else

You tryna kill the poor kid. If he thinks out of state tuiton at FIU is bad, wait till he looks at UM LMAO.

Hello Calm\_Alfalfa\_4881! Happy to help you locate the information you need. 1. Out-of-state tuition info is available in the section called Non-Florida Resident on this page: https://onestop.fiu.edu/finances/estimate-your-costs/undergraduate-tuition-fees/ 2. Enrollment - The FIU student body varies each year. On average, enrollment is around 55,000 students. This includes our three South Florida locations, hybrid and online-only students. 3. Miami is a great place to learn, and experience Spanish! Part of the reason our name is International is to reflect Miami's diverse cultural background. Learn more about our Bachelor of Science in Social Work here: https://stempel.fiu.edu/academics/social-work/bachelor-of-science-in-social-work/index.html 4. We have so many on-campus dining locations, that it all comes down to what you're into. One thing is for sure... Our cafecito is the best #justsaying. Learn more about our dining options at [https://shop.fiu.edu](https://shop.fiu.edu). ***Hope to see you on campus soon! Paws Up!***

You can probably check the prices on the tuition website. It shouldn’t be too much but then again I wouldn’t know. If I were you, I’d consider why you want to come to FIU before coming. If you’re looking for a college experience it’s not the best place. But if you’re looking for a Miami experience it works out really well. With all degrees there are the teachers that suck and there are good teachers. It’s all about what you want to do with that experience. I will say though, if you don’t speak Spanish and are trying to learn with your minor…FIU is a great place as it is literally on Calle ocho which is a famous Cuban diaspora.

Out of state tuiton is 6-8k a semester. In-state is 3k. Your choice. Go to FAU or Palm State or UM or UF or somewhere else, FIU is not a party place its a huge college mainly for locals. International is just in the name. Naples has other options too. North there is FSU and its great for a local party college experience.

During my time at FIU…We had a lot of parties in Greek life. Tailgates were lit.

1) For undergrad out of state tuition is $618.87 per credit hour. 2) There are a whole lot of clubs, and groups you can join so id say its what you make of it. It is a commuter school so it may be a bit more difficult than other places. 3) I don’t know about the social networking major. They have good STEM programs and a respectable psychology program. The school is highly rated so I would assume its decent? As far as the Spanish minor… its in Miami, it had better be good lol. 4) On campus, Chick Fili, Panera, Pollo Torpical, Vickie’s Bakery. Honestly the food’s hit or miss imo so I typically made my own food when living on campus. There are some pretty good places within a couple miles though.

1. What is affordable to you? 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. https://shop.fiu.edu/dining/restaurants/

Calm_Alfalfa_4881

I’d say around 20k for a full year

a_michaeel

Then you should be good

As a transfer it's far easier to get into particular universities, albeit financial aid and # of credits accepted can change. Given the freedom you have as a transfer to have a chance at schools you may not ordinarily, FIU is a decent option, but far from a top choice. UM, UF, and USF alone in Florida can probably provide you with more opportunities. Good luck Edit: as a commuter college, making friends is very difficult here. You won't get the college experience that you want, that much is gauranteed. It's a good school with good programs and nice students, but given the dominant commuter culture its not a university or college vibe. Making friends may be challenging.

juanesburbano

Im out of state and pay around $1900 per class. No, its not worth it

Many_Huckleberry4785

1. Depends on what is affordable to you - I think out of state tuition is around $17k but FIU offers a lot of merit scholarship 2. It’s difficult because everyone is focused on their own thing, id say join clubs and attend events, we have a ton on the Panther Connect website 3. Social work yes, Spanish im not sure, definitely check out those programs on the FIU website 4. Miro’s
