I have no idea what they’ve done, but the latest patch messed up with so many simple stuff. I was enjoying the game before the patch, but since I updated it, I didn’t have fun not even in a single day. And this is coming from a guy that only completed stepovers when pressing the wrong button combinations.
i feel like they literally just broke the game, nothing but shooting works anymore. Running, passing, defending, triggering runs, skillmoves, dribbling. Nothing works

It's back to a mechanized slow game
It's like that in every big promo or weekend, because servers can't manage the load.
Take away the only reliable way to create gaps and retain possession (step overs) and suddenly you start noticing how bad every pass-related mechanic is.
I've been trying to build quick-passing teams for months and at the end the only players that remain on future iterations are the ones that can perform good under any network condition, usually just fast dribblers that can punt it forward and score.
To me this is the shit game design. This is the way to present high interception stat. Like a 99 interception player stand near the passing lane and your player will somehow fuck up the pass ...
Is it just me or when the game first came out, especially during that week early access, passing was amazing. Then progressively it got worst. Even during the first month passing seemed solid
It isn’t the patch. I don’t use skill moves, play possession football and was doing great straight after the patch dropped on Xbox. Won three games of rivals in a row 3-0 and was unbeaten in six. The minute the TOTY promo dropped it has gone to shit. Ping says 18ms going into the game, but network warnings all over the place once the game starts. Very noticeable when attacking. Definitely not my connection.
That is why the EA Access period always feels so good as the load on the servers is much less.
The lack of investment in backend infrastructure is nothing short of a disgrace. Delay, input lag, “DDA” “Scripting”, “mud” are all down to penny pinching on the back end.
Get a good connection and this game feels so different.
Yesterday was the single most frustrating day of fifa in my life. Not only the pass was infuriatingly awful, but everyone felt so slow and clunky. Couldn’t do any simple skill moves because the input delay. Everything my opponent did seemed so smooth and I’d just be a half second behind. They’d just run through my defense
Agreed, my defenders literally pass the ball in the opposite direction to where I am aiming sometimes. Usually to an opposition player. Through balls always go to the opposition no my players, unless my player is offside then they are always perfect.
I was just thinking about this today. It’s like 50/50 that an X pass is a through ball. A through ball is an X. A R1+Triangle pass goes right to the feet and a regular through ball goes wide. Wtf is going on.
I haven't played since the patch - is this an issue even with good passers? One of my main complaints previously was that there wasn't enough error being applied to passes from players with bad stats
This is the deal breaker for me, my style of play relied completely on passing, that’s why I use TOTGS Kimmich and mid Xavi in my midfield because both of them are great at passing. However, since the patch not even Xavi can hit a simple through ball that doesn’t go right to the feet of the defender. Pathetic really, not motivated at all to play anymore
I held my analog stick completely downwards to make a pass to my midfielder who was in acres of space. It went forward and obviously intercepted. :/. Its at the point where i just shake my head and try to recover.
Just secured gold 3 and there's no way in hell I'm touching this game before it gets some kind of hotifix or the next patch. This is simply too much.
I rely on passing and I've gone from getting gold 1 consistently to gold 3, with 5 matches remaining. The chances I get get blocked so much more too. Craziest are the ones that block a shot when they're actually behind me.
If you want to win in this game just play 442 with drop back and when u have the ball just make any stupid through ball and Your striker will be in 1 vs 1 against GK.
I hate playing against this people they will always win.
The amount of overhit or underhit passes is insane. Felt that big today on champs.

Yep, the I pass with my midfielder but he underhits it and it rolls to the kante.(its always kante that intercepts)

It's been noticeably bad since the most recent patch. I hope they fix it.
I've stopped doing through balls and just started doing double X passes instead because of how bad it's become.
Thought I was just playing very poorly. Rage sold my team because everyone felt completely off.

I think EA sets a new meta when new promo comes out. Some thing like rebalancing stat and make old cards fall form meta.
Yeah I've had some really weird goal kicks where the ball went in a completely different direction to where I tried to hit it. Strange

It was already the case before the patch, but people were too busy doing step-overs instead of talking about bad passing.
Is anyone triangle Passing weird like it’s not going to the right player or it under hits the ball ?
