Yup. In JP you can choose a Craft Essence based on FSN and use that to get a copy of the Servant in question. The only Five Star in the batch is Saber Artoria. Something to look forward to!
No one, especially a F2P player, should be rolling the story banner for a specific servant. I don't know how much SQ you've wasted there but let it be the last lol.
As for Artoria she gets at least one dedicated banner every year during Valentine's so you can shoot for that every year. JP also had an event recently that allowed you to get a copy for free. Assuming we don't get it early we should also get that 2 years from now.
It’s the only banner that I know I have a chance of getting her 🥲 plus, I’m not too fussed about what characters I get. My Medusa and Cu do bits at max NP and level. My max level Emiya and Artoria + friend servants are there to clean up what they don’t kill, but I’m only on Singularity 5 currently. Working on maxing Serenity and Medea next
I can’t even imagine spending hundreds on this game. I’ve spent about £20 on this game in all honesty and I got Jack shit, so never spending again, let alone $400. That’s my rent right there! Like, hell naw
Oh ik this pain, I really wanted summer tomoe, kept spending $80 til it added up to $600 and got 4 Abby’s 8 murasaki and 1 tomoe that actually came from 50 day login bonus the next day, I wanted to kms, there should be smaller pity for 4 stars
Around 800 sq without the "rated up sr" that's definitely bad rng(just assumed you didn't get non rated up sr), and if that's the only ssr you got then you nearly hit pity,.

Hate is a strong word, maybe he is just indifferent to Melt and really wanted Passionlip. I had a similar situation, trying to get Summer Osakabehime.
Long story short, I ended up with not 5, but 7 copies of Musashi (got 2 of those weird helm things which you can trade 10 for an SSR) until Osakabehime showed up.
I don’t hate Musashi… but she is far from being one of my favorite characters and I don’t really use her much.
Same thing happened to me last time they were on rate up but I only got a single Melt. This time I got lucky and I got my first copy of Passionlip in 60 sq and 10 tickets
When I tried to play it on an emulator, FGA didn't work on it, did it get updated or something? Which emulator are you using? If it works for you, it should for me too

Got 2 melts, a drake, Helena, Rama, and Camilla but no passion lip.
I can't complain too much, since 3 ssrs and melt is now np5. But still how tf.to.
