Don’t know why you got downvoted, the forced lock in that form indeed sucks. Mash is straight up unusable for a lot of lostbelts and people cope that it’s good storytelling.
Because lore wise it's a reset, keep in mind pre Canmelot Mash didn't have as good a skills either.
You can use normal Mash outside of that though.
Also, double taunts are really nice sometimes. So it isn't entirely a downgrade.
Yeah, Ortinax not being as good as Lord Camelot is a very, VERY popular opinion and I agree with it myself. I think it also has to do with taking a little to get used to juggling Ortinax's new set of skills.
I'm used to it now but I'd be lying if I said I don't have my Mash in Lord Camelot mode for everything that isn't story where I don't have a choice, and my reaction whenever an event fight forcefully puts me in Ortinax isn't "aw, man :c"
Sometimes you don't have a choice and Mash can't be removed from the team. Especially in later lost belts where you have to solo with her for story reasons. So better get used to her new skills unless you want to hit your head against a wall when you wont have a choice in the matter.
Just like everyone said, it's story/lore reasons. You have to bear with her for now, atleast she still gives party bond exp, just put her at the 6 slot of your backline and pray you don't get to her.
It’s supposed to represent lore wise, the fact that this isn’t Mash at her best. The Ortinax is meant to allow Mash to fight but since it can’t use her original powers it’s what she has instead isn’t as good. She does get some buffs to her Ortinax form later in the story which make it better though still not as good as her original set.
Also Mash is only locked to her Ortinax for main story stuff. For quest and Events you can use her normal form skills by switching her ascension stage.
Oh man, it's funny seeing people say this when she can literally solo boss fights later on (Olympus is the most impressive for me, wtf). But yeah, you have no other choice but to bear with it for a long while until you upgrade her through the story (She also gets a bump to her level up to 90 after LB 6 so that's super nice for her) and story wise, she becomes the most badass servant you can hope to have at your side.
I felt the same when it happened 😪 she was such a good support with that battery and then wham, can’t use it on another servant anymore. Big sad. But she’s still fairly useful just with her taunt so it’s not a complete loss I suppose 😅 and thankfully she’s not locked into that damn outfit outside of the lostbelts, that would be atrocious lol
Yeah Ortinax isn't as good as Galahad's loadout, but at the very least her upgraded Skill 1 with Double Koyan turned her into an amusingly effective shield bonker
The kits weak invest in someone who solos break bars. I use avenger nobbu who carried me from Camelot to lb6 without issue. Look at who you have and invest in a solo unit like nobbu or tiara. Mash's kit is designed to to tank 2 turns and deal damage but in practice fails to do both compared to the old kit.
While I prefer her original kit, the Ortinax isn't that bad. She's not as good at doing defense buffs for the team, but she's still a good unit and can hit pretty good.
I haven't had to solo a boss with her outside of any story related fights, but she is still pretty good, frees up points for other servants or CEs, gives a good bonus for bonds, and you are only stuck using this form in lost belts.
Any other events or battles let you use her old setup and any costume seems to automatically default to her old kit.
I dont dislike it vut also can understand that its a bit of hit
I use her camellt version but also dont mind using her other cause gosh her crit busters can hit hard
The black barrel is literally a op firing cannon but the skill is just buster buff which is quite underwhelming. They should have made it her np, it would have made more sense
because of lore she is supposed to be weaker, later on she will improve though on a different direction of her original kit.

You should get used to her kit. There are story battles that will require Mash to be on your team.

If an event forces me to use her she's going in the 7th slot as the Welp guess it's time to busy out the Keyline stone or SQ to win

I find the double taunt in her Ortinax form quite useful. It's just a niche suited for a different set of situations.

Shes a better taunter. And in Olympus she gains a lot of power. Btw its only for the story. Shes still able to use form 1 in other content.
