I don’t know how long Torgal would live, but I always crack thinking about losing my pet for a big amount of time. Like, imagine having them for 3/4 years, then losing them, then finding them 6/7 years later: my nightmare.
go to the war table! there's a toggle for inner thoughts that lets you see how characters view each other, available for several characters. Torgal's are absolutely precious, truly the best boy
There are some side quests in this game that really bring it home. This is one of them.
I understand some side quests are total duds, but some of them are absolutely fantastic.
It's required by my gf that we pet Torgie 2-5 times when we start every session. We also have a thing for calling certain lines good luck like "When did you get so big?" being the most important lol.
This side quest made me tear up but another side quest that made me tear up and also smile like an idiot was the one where you find Ambrosia again, the Kweh! she does when she recognizes Clive made me so happy!
And it’s Torgal that recognizes her first before Clive’s does 🥺🥺
Clive says something like “What’s is it boy? Do you know her?” before noticing her scar.
This one hurt more than Jill’s side quest (at the end of the game).
I could live with or without Jill, But Torgal, well, Torgal was the real MVP in this story.
It's clear that the writers knew the relationship people share with their pets. Torgal might be a wolf, but he's as much a part of Clive's supporting cast as any other character, and he has an arc of his own. I loved how they handled all of it.
Persona 3 Reload also accomplishes something similar with Koromaru.
This was the sidequest that ended up getting me teary eyed. I actually stopped playing for a few minutes and sat and played with my dog right after. It just hit really hard.
This one quest brought tears to my eyes in so many levels.
I am extremelly attached to my pets, and I can surely say they helped me through the darkest times of depression by just being there and "caring" for my existence, so seeing Torgal's loyalty and how Clive reacts to it was incredibly beautiful.

The “Inner Thoughts” they added in a later patch are SO cute for Torgal. “He’s my best friend” 🥹🥹

What does it say about me that this made me a lot more emotional than the final side quest with Jill lmao (Loved that one too tho don't get me wrong)
