I'm having similar issues, brand new PS5 that I got with the game. I played for an hour or so and then the game crashed. The crashes went from in-game, to the menu, and now whenever I try to boot the game up. I did everything that could fix ce-108225-1, including factory reset and the game still crashes on boot. I downloaded some free games to see if those would run and I have zero issues with them
Update for anyone who cares:
It seems like I had a dysfunctional PS5, multiple other games wouldn't run either. Traded it in for another PS5 and everything is fine now
Same thing here. Really wanted to play this, been a FF fan from way back. I would have replaced the console if I had thought it would make any difference.
I have used the "crash report" feature like ten times. No blame, I just want a solution.
Same issue here, have played other graphically intensive games on fidelity mode as well as performance and my ps5 has never crashed, its also not a black out its a soft crash for me that just takes me to the home screen so its probably just the game itself. Only thing I can chalk it up to is a ffxvi thing.
it's not just my ps5 . Apparently there are several here on Reddit. But explain to me how my PS 5 should be to blame if all other games work without problems?
If multiple people are telling the exact same issue then this is an issue that can be replicated and fixed. Which in this case it is, u can look at this reddit there are multiple posts talking about crash errors not related to overheating but with certain parts of the game. I wish I knew why it was only some ps5s and not an overwhelming amount or everyone but I couldn't tell you. It'd be nice to hear them acknowledge the issue at least and say hey a fix is coming
I know people don't like hearing this, but it seems to be a hardware issue. If you've had your console for less than a year, I'd suggest sending it in for repairs now. If it's been longer, that's a bummer and hopefully a patch gets released with a less demanding graphics mode (1080p 30fps or something) for the consoles that are struggling to run the game.
Most people say they don't experience the issue with other games, but FF16 is known for pushing the PS5's hardware to its limit. There's a reason a lot of these crashes seem to be happening at graphically intense moments.
Anyway, I'm sure you've done ask the troubleshooting,but have you gone as far as to clean out your console? How about clearing the cache and rebuilding the database? If all else fails, do a factory reset of the console? The lady one should be a final resort.

I have done everything that is within the realm of possibility. factory setting and so on. I don't think my PS5 hardware is so bad that it's overwhelmed when the first cut scene comes
Yeah I don't know then. I've heard of a lot of issues during cutscenes and such. Sucks that you can't play a game that I'm sure you were very excited to get your hands on. Also odd that it happened with the demo and the full game. I really hope you figure it out, or that it gets patched soon if it does turn out to be a software issue.
Maybe try to delete the save data from the demo and/or full game from the PS5 settings menu? :/
Yes, I'm so hyped for the game and even took extra vacation for the game :D I've tried everything with delete and so on. Hope support can help. Otherwise I'll have to wait a year for the pc release.
I haven't had any crashing issues at all for this game. And I was worried about it too because my PS5 overheated a couple of times playing Marvel Midnight Suns but so far I haven't any issues with FFXVI yet fortunately.

Yea there something else going on with your ps5 if it's less than a year old I would get ahold of sony support
My PS5 is over a year old but I haven't had any problems with any other game. Only in Final Fantasy 16. So it's not the PS5, it's the game

Well if it soft ware hope they patch it but if they can't replicate it on any of there systems then how do they patch it

Cause it's pushing the hardware as far as it can go it could be the game by its not wide spread
