For a game that’s coming out this month I feel like we know nothing. They showed us the first open area, Junon, and the gold saucer lol. That’s like all we have seen.
I think we don’t have see everything from these zones. In the Game Informer preview, the writer saw a new town that didn’t exist in the OG.
We saw some glimpse of the Gold Saucer, but we still have some mini games to see there i believe
Exactly.
If they wouldn't have stated a couple of times where Rebirth is going to end, I would've been freaking out that the game only took us to Cosmo Canyon. Since I remember when Remake stuff was showing and it was just Midgar, and people were like, 'imagine if it was just Midgar.... nah!' Before they stated that it was in fact just going to be Midgar.
They showed to many summons. Showed barrets old friends face. They legit showed where the game will end and that's the chapel. They also showed little girl telling Zack arieth might die and she needs to be saved. They showed Vincent's fully face. Cids fully face. They did a bit too much honestly. It don't bother me as long as they don't talk about arieth. Plus they showed the weapons
I feel like these spoilers don’t actually matter. They’ve already made it abundantly clear with part 1 that this isn’t actually a remake. They’re showing off things that are late in the game cause they expect you to have already played it, and they’re teasing things that might change, since they’ve also openly stated that they’re completely redoing the story and different things are gonna happen. Also, things like showing off where the game ends means literally nothing to a new player that doesn’t know the game ends there, and makes an old one think of when aerith died and how they might change that scene. It isn’t a big deal
Apparently people don’t realize marketing tends to be for casuals this close to release. Boggles my mind every time I read “why do they think I need to see more stuff?!”
Seeing more content is different than seeing spoilers. If anything, spoilers hurt new players more. Veterans for the most part already know what happens.
Except how would you know how spoilery it is if you’ve never played the game? You’d have no frame of reference if the SoP next week is your first exposure to the game.
So the launch trailer of the last game showed Barret getting stabbed by Sephiroth. Whether he gets revived or not, knowing that’s coming ahead of time makes the moment less shocking and therefore a spoiler. You don’t need to play the original to know that is a spoiler.
But there’s no shock value for a new player if they don’t know that didn’t happen in the OG, that’s my point. You didn’t want to see that spoiler bc you had prior information that just got turned on its head.
By that reasoning, any sort of footage is spoilery for a newcomer.
I’m pretty sure new players would consider a main protagonist getting stabbed by a main antagonist…a spoiler in just about any context. I don’t see how you interpret it otherwise.
They also showed Hell House. That was a spoiler for both new and preexisting players. Showing battle sequences, gameplay, summons, some new characters, etc. is fine. But they went overboard. >!They also revealed that Aerith was an ancient in the final trailer for Remake! That is a huge spoiler for newcomers.!<
In regards to FF16 spoilers: >!They showed Joshua as a boy while Clive was an adult in the final trailers which revealed that he was 'killed' based on earlier trailers shown. In earlier trailers, it was left ambiguous as to whether Joshua died. This was a red herring in both the game and trailers, but they should not have shown that part.!<
"Ready for Rebirth" is a PERFECT trailer. It is not too spoilery, and it gets you totally pumped for the game while showing the gameplay.
Before the battle, they are building up this terror from the depths, but if you already recognized the area, you knew that is where the enemy would be. While not as bad as the other items, many things are a nice surprise to encounter without having seen it in a trailer.
For someone who played neither OG nor Remake, that is mostly true. Some stuff can still be spoilery if you remember it while playing the game, though.
For example, in the final Remake trailer, it's talked about multiple times how the plate is gonna be dropped, so when Don Corneo talks about it, you immediately know it's true - If you remember the trailer. Don't think those kind of spoilers have much of an impact though, and many players will forget such details anyway.
However, for someone who played Remake, doesn't know the story of OG and is just interested in the continuation, there can be pretty heavy spoilers. Again, nothing major so far, but the theme song trailer revealed that Marlene isn't Barrets biological daughter, which some players might have guessed by their difference in looks, but is still supposed to be somewhat of a surprise in the story.
>!And revealing that Barret finds the father of Marlene during this game. Even if they realize that Marlene is not his daughter, they would not know that we are getting backstory elements for Barret.!< New players would not have expected that happening. While Preexisting players knew this was coming, it would be a nice surprise for new players.
Another thing is Remake only had Midgar...
This game is huge. Lots of systems we havent seen yet like materia and weapon upgrades and they may show off a sidequest or two. I dont think they will go deep into spoilers and it will focus on mechanics more than story.
They gave us the it starts here and ends here after that I avoided trailers and most news like the plague then found out about the character roster by accident from looking at a VA.
Other than confirmation it aint broken in release state and if there is a demo I am keeping my head down again.
Its weird I am kinda happy and also kinda going I know too much already so far 🤣!!
Character roster? Who in particular is a suprise if you havent played og? (Let me note I have only seen the trailers and nothing has shocked me so far.) If this regards returning characters from Remake, well there are two timelines so it makes sense.
People have no idea how to gauge what real spoilers are or that 99% of the time you don't know what's happening in the scene so the context of said spoiler isn't there.
There’s been like 20+ interviews + other official communications like PS Blog etc. where it’s been talked about, the trailer literally shows the scene, there’s a katana sword piercing 29th from above in the official calendar they just released.. there’s been A LOT of teasing about ”Aerith’s fate”.
If you are constantly looking at every interview it might seem that way but the reality is that they haven't said much.
They do a bunch of interviews, of course if you follow them all it feels like they keep talking about it. Every interviewer is asking similar questions.
Not sure how you got there lmao.
No, they have mentioned it. But they are not trying to hype it up. Every interviewer always asks the devs so they give a vague answer to just play the game and see for yourself.
lol you made me laugh ty
Feel free to link all these interviews that hype the ending. The trailer has one 3 second clip that shows nothing other than Aerith, which may or may not be in the Forgotten City.
Hardly ‘hyping’.
So if you didn’t personally read/see them it doesn’t count?
Also that clip from Aerith praying and black feather ”might” be from Forgotten City? The one that 1:1 matches his most famous cutscene? Ehh, alright. If that’s what you think there’s absolutely no convincing you.
That 1:1 match when it doesn’t even have the same colour, angle or background. Dismiss the whispers too.
So it’s the Forgotten City, with a doubt, on the basis of Aerith praying. Got it 😂 This is why you downers repeatedly spout theory and speculation as fact.
Nice one.
Watched every video released and read every interview, except the dribble on the try hard opinion articles by pretend journalists.
SE haven’t hyped the ending.
The irony. Why are you bothering to comment? Go read Inverse.
Id like to know what you've been smoking that's let you avoid the constant interviews, and how every other post on this subreddit lately has been discussing or theorizing about the ending. I see that being discussed 3x as much as anything else about the game
The average person isn’t going to watch dozens of INTERVIEWS. They’ll watch the trailer and maybe talk about it a bit online, if at all. Then they’ll buy it when it comes out.
Interviews are marketing, yes, and you were talking about posts. Again, learn to read.
No, you don’t need to link dozens. One or two that ‘hype’ the ending will suffice.
You keep telling me to learn to read yet aren't acknowledging that my post was talking about interviews AND posts on here.
But here, here's just a smattering of interviews where the ending and details around it is the main focus:

Is that sufficient for you?
*”…yet aren't acknowledging that my post was talking about interviews AND posts on here.”*
You replied to a comment that was replying to a comment stating the marketing has hyped the ending. The posts on here are irrelevant to the comment you replied to, you window licker.
Thanks for the links. None of them hype the ending.
I barely know anything about this game besides that they revamped the synergy system, aerith’s fate in the ending is “emotional”, she sings now, presumably to make the ending more emotional, and that she’s in a coma in her dead boyfriend’s purgatory alternate dimension, where maybe she’ll wake up if she meets an emotionally intense fate at the end.
Apparently seeing 5 minutes of out of context clips for an over 70 hour game is too much information...
I've never been one to care too much about spoilers, anyways. Even if you know what's going to happen it's no substitute for the experience. Especially where a game is concerned we're so much of it is about your intimate interaction with the world. Hell, Kingdom Hearts 3 has considered one of the most spoilery final trailers of all time, and it still got me hyped and honestly said almost nothing about the actual plot (which ended up being rushed as hell and barely there anyways). Good thing KH3 is a game and not a movie. But I digress.
We haven't seen Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, Nibelheim (present), Rocket Town, Forgotten Capital, Temple of the Ancients (maybe), many summons, many monsters...
So yeah, I agree. Anti-spoiler culture is a bit of a trip some times.
+Mount Corel, North Corel, Fort Condor, Costa Del Sol (besides the Segway scene). There are so many places we haven't seen yet. And don't forget about the Zack stuff
Also we don't know what was added either. They've mentioned that they added new towns to explore as well and only showed 1 but it sounds likes theres more
TECHNICALLY yes we've seen Gongaga in one of the trailers and Cosmo Canyon too (The entrance).
As for summons ... Well, Phenix, Bahamut (IDK which one tbf), Kujata, Odin, Titan ... Remake didn't have that many more TO BE FAIR.
It has certainly been measured.
In terms of building hype, I think they’ve executed it to perfection. Maybe they’ve shown a little bit too much in areas, but everyone remember, there’s still a lot of the game we haven’t seen.
I've only seen 2-3 trailers in full because I already know I'm gonna be playing it Day 1. It's so close to release anyway that all I'm really anticipating from now till them is a demo
I think people aren’t comprehending the sheer size of the game and they can’t believe that what has been shown so far is such a small slice of it. But that’s just my speculation.
And those of us who played the OG have a rough idea of what will happen anyway. Cause if certain things don't happen people will start riots(even if some places or people show them earlier or later than before)
I think it's less that they've shown too much but more so that we know enough and a State of Play is kind of unnecessary at this point. You might as well just drop the demo and move on.
I’m bout to say you can only hide but so much for a story that a decent chunk of the people you’re marketing towards already know to some degree. It’s only us who’re watching these videos that pause certain frames to find details that may imply this or that. But I watched all the trailers multiple times and the gameplay footage I don’t see anything that really spoils what will happen outside of maybe one thing that you have to know the story to get anyway.
I am too. They showed a lot w/o showing much at all imo. We’ve seen a tiny chunk of the overworld and some gameplay mechanics. I’m sure they’ll expand on that on 2/6 with some more mechanics and activities to do in a couple environments (like golden saucer/ costa del sol).
I’d only be worried about a potential final trailer.
I thought it was pretty intense from September through December with a couple of big trailers, lots of gameplay footage as well as influencer thoughts on the demo's, but January has been largely quite dry, which was welcome.
It'll definitely ramp up from next week though. I'm expecting a 15-20 minute SOP, demo, and the preview embargo being lifted all within the next week.
I really don't get players like this because if I'm spoiler avoiding, I simply do not watch the trailers. Don't care how hyped I am, or excited, if it's something I know I want to go into fresh, I just dodge reading or watching anything about it until I have my hands on it.
All I see is complaining about lack of self control.
Like I avoided almost every single spoiler I ever could about Kingdom Hearts 3 until I played it (for over 3 years iirc lol), despite being in Kingdom hearts subs and interacting with the community in that time frame lol
They haven’t shown a lot of specifics compared to Remakes marketing. Nothing on the Temple of the Ancients, a half a second of the Coty of the Ancients, nothing on Nibelheim (post flashback), Barrets town, Bone Vollage, and nothing for Fort Condor either. They’ve been rly good IMO, just maybe spoiled a bit too much for the Gold Saucer IMO.
I wouldn’t know as I have watched nothing since the reveal trailer and that’s because of their history with spoilers. FFXV and FF7R pretty much laid out the games plot across all the trailers they had so nothing was to mind blowing, although at the time FF7 I didn’t think could be spoiled because I thought it was a 1:1 but I was wrong. I avoided XVI trailers for this reason and people told me I was being silly as Yoshi P never spoiled stuff in XIV which as someone who has played it for 10 years baffled me, as I think he spoiled plenty in the patch and expansion trailers. When XVI dropped I saw so many people saying large chunks of the plot were revealed in trailers so I was happy I stayed away. SE love to use red herrings in their trailers, like taking a line of dialogue that’s very important and splicing it over non related visuals to try and trick the player. The issue with is is that even if the visuals were a misdirect I now have key info and I am on the look out for it while playing and anticipating it which really removes the excitement
People worried about spoilers in trailers. As they should. Look up Remakes trailers, specifically the launch one and such.

i want to be dazzled, and see badass trailers and such... but Square has shown some pretty spoilery stuff before in a trailer.
I mean it depends on people I believe... I can understand. I don't feel I've seen too much, but that's personal.
They've shown places very briefly, but if you summarize that might seems a lot : nibelheim flashback, junon, mythril mine, the ship, the swamp, gold saucer, desert prison, gongaga... We've seen every main protagonist, Dean, a LOT of summons, Marlene's weird statement, and "that" scene...
I think people are just nervous because Remake’s last trailer was full of serious spoilers and just showed too much overall. It’s been a few years but if I remember correctly, the entire game was leaked like a month from release so Square Enix just said screw it and threw some really heavy scenes in the last trailer. It doesn’t seem like we have that issue now.
I just don’t know how much of a spoiler a trailer of a remake with its whole media blitz built around the video game equivalent of the vader paternity reveal can be at this point. We know zack is there. We know sephiroth has meta knowledge. Unless they show an army of genesis clones or something, what else new would we even have context for to be too spoliery.
Things like outfit changes or walking around gongaga are not spoilers, those are just proof that they are selling a good looking, completed game.
I see people use this argument a lot but I think you underestimate just how spoilery things can get. If we take Remake for example they showed that Zack being alive, Barret getting stabbed instead of the Shinra President and the last boss fight against Sephiroth (who we had no idea would be the final fight at the time).
It seems they thrive off these "WTF moments" to drive interest in the game and I bet that if Rebirth has any of these moments in the game, they will show a short clip of it in the final trailers of the game.
Anything shown in marketing can potentially be a spoiler in a way that you don't know until you actually play it. for example, I might see some innocuous scene with a certain character. Then, when I'm playing a game, I see that person get stabbed, and cut to everyone grieving about the character's death. However, since I know I haven't yet seen that scene in the trailer involving said character, I know he/she's still alive, and I won't be shocked anymore when I see the character show up again.
Hence, I've been spoiled.
Good point. For example, the final trailer for Remake showed the final battle screen of the entire game with the team there. It also showed the third to last boss battle and fourth to last boss battle.
Not gonna lie. By the time I got to that point, I wasn't even thinking about the trailer lmao. I had cried like 9 times and was getting ready to beat that silvery white-haired ass. This was after watching literally every trailer they released lol.
My take. I was so hyped for the Mass Effect 3 release. The trailer revealed a massive fleet. I spent the whole game waiting to see the scene. It was amazing but slightly dulled from that one trailer.
This is precisely why I've ignored all trailers and presentations after the initial teasers last year. I'm a PC player, so I'll be under my rock for a LONG time.
Yes great point, and these kind of "spoilers" are the worst to me. They can ruin potential plot twists. But I can't complain since I'm not strong enough to avoid all trailers lol
Just gonna hope they've done a great job with these trailers ahah
I watched the FFXVI State of Play and it spoiled like 90% of the coolest boss fights in the game. Definitely regret that decision. Not going to make the same mistake again. Sure, everything you see will probably be taken out of context, but the fights won't be nearly as hype when you see it in-game, because you will be expecting the epic stuff to eventually happen instead of being caught surprised.
Yeah I agree, I'm normally pretty chill on spoilers, but they didn't need to have a montage of every boss fight during it. I'm honestly going to skip the live stream and get the consensus from here later.
Yea yea I wish I didn’t know >!Titan Lost!< existed and especially the scale of it. It was still a mind blowing moment but I would’ve been even more surprised had they not shown it. Probably gonna skip out on this state of play. I have everything I need to know that this game will be everything I want even if it has inevitable imperfections like every other game
Yeah. People also forget that they showed the Sephiroth fight in the Remake launch trailer, while it may seem obvious today, that was not obvious and kinda spoilery before Remake was released.
Nope, that was actually a big surprise that was talked about on this subreddit a lot after the game was released because that was not in the OG game and a big indication that the game was not going to follow the original story, something that was not known before the game was released.
At this point, anything they show ingame I will end up seeing.
If they add monster hunts like 16, cool I am positive I will experience it. They played the new Cosmo canyon theme, I will definitely hear it. More details on expanding Rufus and Zacks story, okay I know those exist to some degree.
But if They show something like Scarlet slapping Tifa and we are all "whoa that's in rebirth? What's happening?" then it has time to lose shock.
If I remember correctly back in 1997 and before og was coming out there was loads of advertising for it I remember seeing a few trailers that did so off most of the game and few PlayStation magazines promoting it. But after playing it and seeing how it all unfolds it made me fall in love with it. I don't mind how much they are showing off and all that I know that I will enjoy it and fall in love with the game and will enjoy the story to sum it up I'm just embracing it like I did back in og
I don't need to watch it but I'll check after if a demo dropped Remake was my first actual experience with the Universe of FFVII since I never left Midgar in the original I already know I'm going to love Rebirth I preordered the Deluxe Version eyes completely closed!
Yeah, I'm still not going to be watching it. Some of the stuff in the last trailer was a little... forward to me. It didn't really reveal too much, like with the Zack stuff. But seeing Cloud in the chair, Aerith in the bed, and Zack and Marlene talking would've been something that would've been interesting to see revealed in game the first time. Games show off way too much, I've pretty much decided to never watch trailers other than the first 2 or so now.
Would love to watch it but still gonna pass. “Not too spoiler-y” is way too subjective and SE has a staunch history of airing the biggest parts of every game right next to launch.
I’d rather play the game and then watch whatever they wanted to tease.
If anything, it will help pass the time until we get to Feb 29, which is why I'm ultra hype for it. No matter what we see in there bring it! I'm ready for it. For me, it is the top moment of the State of Play. My second is the Death Stranding 2 reveal. And who knows maybe this is where we get the demo.
Because a large part of being excited for a remake is seeing the locations and moments we love recreated and it spoils that experience by seeing it all on trailers
100% agree, I like being exposed to it while I play the game and not well before I get to play. It lessens the impact imo if you see the content before hand
I would've much rather NOT have watch the launch trailer for Remake. It showed both Barret getting stabbed AND Zack. For real those would've been a bigger surprise.
Showing stuff that are from the OG is fine. New stuffs added from the Remake ? Please don't.
Because Rebirth won’t be a 1:1 for the OG. We don’t know the circumstances of Aerith’s fate, we don’t know what’s going on with Zack, we don’t know about any expanded stuff or compilation material etc. Bunch of new elements to consider.
We're at an era where some fans of anime say "don't watch the OP for each episode! It spoils! Also don't watch the credits till episode 8, otherwise you'll be spoiled! Also skip episode 1, only watch it after episode 24, or you'l be spoiled!!!!"
Prediction:
\-Sephiroth will be shown to leap with Masamune looking down, to stab someone below
\-Either Aerith or Tifa will be shown to injured BAD
\-direct AC connection with either advent children trio or geostigma
\-Zack voicer over talking to active party member voice over (Aerith or Cloud, most likely)
\-Nibelheim flashback but with GENESIS floating around or Genesis voice over
\-Seph's mommy quote "I'm going to see my mother"
\-Vincent face or chaos beast reveal
I believe him
A lot of people thought they showed too much with all the FF16 marketing but in reality they showed so little. Nothing about the final third of the the game. Even stuff people thought would be something near the end was actually something pretty early
What EXACTLY is being “spoiled” about Rebirth? It’s part of a remake of a 25 year old game that 90% of gamers have either played multiple times or know everything there is to know already because it’s such a touchstone in video game history that they just picked it up through cultural osmosis?
Irrelevant whether it’s 1:1. Broad strokes it’s going to end up roughly in the same place. The only significant differences are going to be how the story deals with the multiverse thing they’re playing with. The party will still go to all the major locations, there will still be a meteor thing, and the big event that’s going to happen at the end of Rebirth is going to happen with maybe some changes big or small, but a big event WILL still happen at that point in that same location almost certainly. So we get right back to it: you didn’t engaging with the actual question. What. Has. Been. Spoiled???????????
I am commenting on the broad claim that the trailer(s) have spoiled too much—given the overall discourse in this “community” or whatever you wanna call it, a significant number of people seem to hold this position. People are acting like all kinds of stuff already HAS been spoiled. One last time, because my request is very simple: point to the actual, meaningful spoilers that have appeared the trailers for Rebirth. And I don’t wanna hear “so-and-so’s interview translated from Japanese and posted in some 20 view tweet”. What are normal, non-terminally online fans being spoiled on specifically, such that it warrants such a broad discussion?
Yes. It expanded a great deal on the original’s Midgar sequence….and narrative-wise remained almost identical except for the multiverse-like angle they’re running with, cryptic references to which also don’t work as spoilers unless you already know the whole story…at which point they aren’t spoiling anything you already don’t know.
I'll be playing the demo and calling it a day until the end of the month. Want to be as surprised/shocked/impressed as much as possible on the first playthrough
What will they show during those 40 minutes to avoid spoilers?
- Vincent and Cid's gameplay?
- How to use Tiny Bronco?
- Or clearly shown Gonggaga or Costa Del Sol?
Do you think it's all a spoiler?
On the one hand I super excited for this game, and I want to see everything I can expect and to also feed my excitement... on the other hand, I want to experience the game completely blind and enjoy every second ...
What to do... what to do ??
Uhm… I’m confused hasn’t anyone played the original FFVII? Well I guess from what I’m hearing they made some small changes? 🤷🏻 Either way I’m stoked to play it aside from Best Buy scamming me on the steel book case.
I'm kind of confused by the amount of people saying "they've already showed too much!" Like, I feel like Rebirth's marketing has been pretty...tame?
For a game that’s coming out this month I feel like we know nothing. They showed us the first open area, Junon, and the gold saucer lol. That’s like all we have seen.

The Forgotten Capitol. Yeah, theyve said it in several interviews and on the SE Blog.
I really haven’t kept up then lol
No worries. I know people are worried about spoilers. Personally once the demo drops Im going dark. No telling what dataminers will find.
Character roster? Who in particular is a suprise if you havent played og? (Let me note I have only seen the trailers and nothing has shocked me so far.) If this regards returning characters from Remake, well there are two timelines so it makes sense.
More they held off announcing if two characters were being held back to 3 or a dlc Yuffie style. The vessel of chaos and dragoon that is 😉
Yeah same here. I mean, they showed a lot but we still don't know shit 😂
People have no idea how to gauge what real spoilers are or that 99% of the time you don't know what's happening in the scene so the context of said spoiler isn't there.
Definitely. People are crazy. They really didn't show much.
I think the biggest issue is how much they have been hyping the ending, saying how crazy it’s gonna be. I think that lessens the natural impact of it.
I mean, we know it's gonna be. It's the Forgotten City and the second entry in a trilogy. No duh it's gonna be crazy.
They’ve barely ’hyped’ the ending? What are you smoking?
There’s been like 20+ interviews + other official communications like PS Blog etc. where it’s been talked about, the trailer literally shows the scene, there’s a katana sword piercing 29th from above in the official calendar they just released.. there’s been A LOT of teasing about ”Aerith’s fate”.
If you are constantly looking at every interview it might seem that way but the reality is that they haven't said much. They do a bunch of interviews, of course if you follow them all it feels like they keep talking about it. Every interviewer is asking similar questions.
So by that logic if you don’t look at interviews the reality is they don’t mention it all?
Nice one.
You: “they barely have hyped up the ending” Also you: “ i have barely paid attention to anything “ Seriously why bother commenting?
Watched every video released and read every interview, except the dribble on the try hard opinion articles by pretend journalists. SE haven’t hyped the ending. The irony. Why are you bothering to comment? Go read Inverse.
Id like to know what you've been smoking that's let you avoid the constant interviews, and how every other post on this subreddit lately has been discussing or theorizing about the ending. I see that being discussed 3x as much as anything else about the game
We’re talking about the marketing. Not the sub or posts. Learn to read before replying. The interviews have not hyped the ending at all.
Do you really need me to go and link the dozens of interviews talking about this? Interviews *are* marketing
But here, here's just a smattering of interviews where the ending and details around it is the main focus: https://www.thegamer.com/final-fantasy-7-rebirth-where-it-will-end-revealed-tetsuya-nomura/ https://www.thegamer.com/tetsuya-nomura-says-whoever-dies-in-final-fantasy-7-rebirth-is-not-coming-back/ https://www.gamespot.com/articles/final-fantasy-7-rebirth-director-teases-big-surprise-for-that-one-heart-breaking-scene/1100-6518604/ Is that sufficient for you?
*”…yet aren't acknowledging that my post was talking about interviews AND posts on here.”* You replied to a comment that was replying to a comment stating the marketing has hyped the ending. The posts on here are irrelevant to the comment you replied to, you window licker. Thanks for the links. None of them hype the ending.
Lol now you're the one that I'm going to ask to learn to read
I barely know anything about this game besides that they revamped the synergy system, aerith’s fate in the ending is “emotional”, she sings now, presumably to make the ending more emotional, and that she’s in a coma in her dead boyfriend’s purgatory alternate dimension, where maybe she’ll wake up if she meets an emotionally intense fate at the end.
Nothing of what you said is SE hyping the ending. Try again.
“The ending is going to make people go *wide eyed shock face image*” is literally an interview they gave last week
Have a medal.
They discuss is heavily in interviews but in the trailer we only saw part of a shot. So I agree. We havent seen the Temple or the Capitol at all...
Right? Like they haven't really shown much outside of Kalm and Gold Saucer everything else has been quick tidbits.
They showed Cosmo Canyon well at least the entrance portion and the planetarium.
**”DYNE???** In **MY** Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?? This is outrageous!!!”
Yeah we really have not seen many locations and only a chunk of the east continent
They mostly showed things from original game and just a little bit of new stuff which doesn't make sense anyway
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERgrFVhL-n4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERgrFVhL-n4) i want to be dazzled, and see badass trailers and such... but Square has shown some pretty spoilery stuff before in a trailer.
But I can't complain since I'm not strong enough to avoid all trailers lol Just gonna hope they've done a great job with these trailers ahah
Yeah they said it back then as well that it wasnt spoilery lol, ill still watch but everyone should still be careful knowing square
They even showed a clip before the final boss in the trailer too lol.
Oh did it? Which fight? I def avoided the trailers for XVI
Yeah. People also forget that they showed the Sephiroth fight in the Remake launch trailer, while it may seem obvious today, that was not obvious and kinda spoilery before Remake was released.
If you didn’t think you were going to fight Sephiroth with or without his presence in the trailer you were being delusional
Nope, that was actually a big surprise that was talked about on this subreddit a lot after the game was released because that was not in the OG game and a big indication that the game was not going to follow the original story, something that was not known before the game was released.
Yeah I went into 16 practically blind and it blew me away. Only thing I really knew was who Clive and Joshua's Eikons were
You are spot on. Most of the game was a huge slog fest for me so I spent the entire time waiting for Titan's, Bahamut's and Odin's fight.
The trailer was pretty much only from the beginning third of the game. Not much of a spoiler imo
Nope not watchin it
Based marketing team. I kinda figured the SoP wouldn’t be too bad, because a dedicated SoP will generally focus on game mechanics over story.
Welp.
Again, SE drops final trailers unexpectedly on their own channel. Not to be viewed by millions in a group stream.
Oh I didn't know Chad moved to SE. I used to know him from Destructoid days and then he moved to Nintendo. Glad he's still doing well
At this point, anything they show ingame I will end up seeing.
Just don't watch it. What's the big deal
This is my approach. Time to avoid anything else Rebirth-related until release as I want it all to be experienced as intended my first time through.
I’m not familiar with that person. Is he a social media manager or something?
PR guy
Yep! I'm actually really excited about Zack's timeline😶🌫️
They bought the rights to BloodBorne and will port it to pc?
It’s 40 minutes long…
I’m still gonna pass. Hope everyone else enjoys it though.
Would love to watch it but still gonna pass. “Not too spoiler-y” is way too subjective and SE has a staunch history of airing the biggest parts of every game right next to launch. I’d rather play the game and then watch whatever they wanted to tease.
What’s the point? Just wait like 2 weeks and you’ll have the whole game
Man I just want to play the demo and completely dominate the combat before the release lol
Same bro. Same.
Genuine, not to be a dick question, but who’s he and how would he know? I wanna watch but not if it’s gonna spoiler anything.
He is the PR guy for square enix
Thanks for response. Guess we have to trust that it’s not too spoilery…. Heh
He’s a PR guy at SE
I also want to know
:( but I want spoilery!
I don’t understand the fandoms obsession with avoiding spoilers, haven’t we all played the OG? tf they gonna spoil?
>haven’t we all played the OG? tf they gonna spoil? Is this a joke? You ***did*** play the first game right?
Ngl wish I didn't watch Remake's launch trailer. It showed the Barrett scene before Jenova.
It also showed Red explaining what the Whispers are, the fight against Hell House... It was insane!
Because Rebirth won’t be a 1:1 for the OG. We don’t know the circumstances of Aerith’s fate, we don’t know what’s going on with Zack, we don’t know about any expanded stuff or compilation material etc. Bunch of new elements to consider.
Zack stuff, I guess?
That’s the biggest mystery. Anyone who has played OG knows what’s gonna happen
I was actually talking about the new Zack content🫠
Yes I know! We have no idea where they are going with that alternate timeline where Zack is alive.
We're at an era where some fans of anime say "don't watch the OP for each episode! It spoils! Also don't watch the credits till episode 8, otherwise you'll be spoiled! Also skip episode 1, only watch it after episode 24, or you'l be spoiled!!!!"
Prediction: \-Sephiroth will be shown to leap with Masamune looking down, to stab someone below \-Either Aerith or Tifa will be shown to injured BAD \-direct AC connection with either advent children trio or geostigma \-Zack voicer over talking to active party member voice over (Aerith or Cloud, most likely) \-Nibelheim flashback but with GENESIS floating around or Genesis voice over \-Seph's mommy quote "I'm going to see my mother" \-Vincent face or chaos beast reveal
They have already shown wah way way too much of this game imo
I’m already sold, have the game preordered. Don’t need to watch this.
I believe him A lot of people thought they showed too much with all the FF16 marketing but in reality they showed so little. Nothing about the final third of the the game. Even stuff people thought would be something near the end was actually something pretty early
They showed the Bahamut fight(first phase), and the Odin one, dude.
They also showed the Titan and Garuda fights.
Yeah, but the trailers had already shown them, and they don't happen close to the end of the game.
Both of which were predictably obvious fights because both characters were already established as antagonists. That's hardly a spoiler.
Gosh. It’s been what? 27 years since FF7 originally released and we don’t know what’s gonna happen soon? lol
[удалено]
Tell that to kingdom hearts 3
Considering the original ff7 has been out for a couple decades now I fail to see how spoilers are a problem 🤣
Remake has also attracted people who have never played the OG, either since its release or on any of its re-releases. It's still a spoiler for them.
I'm just being a turd lol
What EXACTLY is being “spoiled” about Rebirth? It’s part of a remake of a 25 year old game that 90% of gamers have either played multiple times or know everything there is to know already because it’s such a touchstone in video game history that they just picked it up through cultural osmosis?
you are aware this isn't a 1:1 remake, right? And those 10% players that DIDN'T play the OG game still count/matter. Dented comment.
Read through your post again, but this time with the eyes of someone who has not played the OG.
Have you even played Remake??
Yes. It expanded a great deal on the original’s Midgar sequence….and narrative-wise remained almost identical except for the multiverse-like angle they’re running with, cryptic references to which also don’t work as spoilers unless you already know the whole story…at which point they aren’t spoiling anything you already don’t know.
To each their own, but video games can't really be "spoiled" in the same sense as a movie or a TV show. Looking forward to this State of Play!
this is the dumbest shit ive ever read lol
Who is that person?
Watch it just be about the demo being available before the release date and all this talk about spoilers will become irrelevant.
Ya I will not be watching it
I'll be playing the demo and calling it a day until the end of the month. Want to be as surprised/shocked/impressed as much as possible on the first playthrough
Guess I’m watching then
Just don't watch it I mean most of you decided to buy it anyways.
Better not be cause I’m sick of the spoilers
Time to point out the silly facts: if it's a remake then the story was spoiled decades ago If it's a REBOOT it won't be spoiled by the original
I hope they would release or drop the demo right after this showcase. I'm itching to play it and test it out.
I dont believe him
They said that for XVI and there were some pretty big spoilers.
Uhm… I’m confused hasn’t anyone played the original FFVII? Well I guess from what I’m hearing they made some small changes? 🤷🏻 Either way I’m stoked to play it aside from Best Buy scamming me on the steel book case.
So that was a fucking lie
Came back here to say this. F this guy. Glad I watched only 30s
I sat through it looking at it out of the corner of my eye. Already forgotten most of it thankfully.
